I have a Power Pet electronic dog door that allows you to turn on and off the inside and outside sensors via push button. This has been a problem for me because I work evening shift and my beagle will be outside howling at, well anything, late at night before I can get home to keep her in the house. I was able to put a 10 second switch hold on the power button so that it keeps the button pressed while the SwitchBot on the door open button operates. I have a security camera pointed at the dog door so that I can verify via the LED lights, that I have the sensors on the correct setting since there is no way to tell if they are on or off, not the fault of SwitchBot. The only minor problem I had with one of the buttons is that it requires a bit of a soft touch, and SwitchBot was pushing too hard for it to work. To solve this I took the extra adhesive pad that was included and doubled them up so it stood the SwitchBot off a bit more from the panel. I then got some of those soft rubber buttons with adhesive on one side that you use on the inside of cabinet doors to keep them from banging, and put one of those on the button. That worked nicely.

This is a great invention to automate and schedule things with a physical switch and that can’t be controlled by a smart plug. It’s a little finicky and a bit more bulky than ideal, but I personally don’t know how it could be designed much better given the constraints of the battery size that lasts around 2 years they say and what this thing does.Put it on our coffee maker and it works perfectly. The 3M sticky pad worked to be stuck and readjusted multiple times which was nice (didn’t know if it was a one and done type adhesice but seems like you can readjust and get multiple uses, plus it comes with a second. Great product that saved me this week!

I installed Switchbot on my boiler a month ago. It is located in the attic (I'm in a flood zone) and needs to be reset by pressing a button if the boiler faults and doesn't light. This happens a few times each year during high winds and I have to get the ladder out and go up and reset it. Not anymore! This week I was out of state on vacation and saw on my camera that the boiler had faulted. I have the Mini Hub attached to the Switchbot so I was able to reset the boiler from a thousand miles away using WiFi. This could have been a big mess with frozen pipes at worst or an inconvenience having a neighbor come and reset the boiler at best. Having Switchbot was a godsend. We wanted to add some SMART home features to the new house, but didn't want to spend a lot of money, or have to fuss too much with it to set it up and use it. So one of SMART Home devices we added were the Smart Bots for the light switches paired with the Motion detectors in some of our key rooms.Now when we walk into a room the lights are switched on automatically, and when we leave a room, after a set period of time with no motion the lights are turned off. Not What I thought.

I purchased this item to control my light switch for my outside porch light at dusk. I was under the impression that I could remotely control my lights through the app from anywhere which is not the case. While out of town two weeks ago visiting family I tried to remotely turn ON/OFF the lights on my home and it would not respond. Also the timer is very confusing. There is no way to differentiate between AM and PM. I set two opposing times for the switch to turn ON and OFF. The switchbot will only turn the lights OFF at the set time I set, but not turn the switch ON at the time I set. I have to MANUALLY turn the light switch on. The Bot will only turn the light switch off at my set and desired time. Before ordering, I was a little worried about the delivery and payment of duties, as well as the functionality of individual products, but it was worth it. Great material design as well as packaging. Order came in five days (wonderful). Finally, I can control the ceiling fan using the phone as well as the logitech speakers remotely! Just great, plus a switchbot curtain and switchbot bot for remotely switching my PC. Clear application and many functions in it. The only thing I miss is the integration into homekit, but I know that this can be done, by homebridge (YT video) which someone might find it to be a bit difficult. I believe that in the future there will be an update for the homekit, but still a great job for siri shortcuts! Switch Bot - good alternative

Switch Bot is excellent when it works. However, it is a bit unreliable as it does not work 100% of the time. The automation sometimes does not trigger the bot for their specific function. Still a good option if your don’t want to change out your wall switches. Hope it will be native apple homekit in future instead of relying on homebridge.
