I've owned 49 of these SwitchBot plugs since they were released just over a month ago. I also own dozens of plugs from various manufacturers, like TP-Link, Sonoff, BN-Link, Emporia, etc. These plugs are, by far, my favorite. I have one plugged into just about every outlet in my house, where reasonable. Here's some of my key highlights that differentiate these plugs from all the junk online:- The build quality is outstanding. There are no seams or otherwise weird manufacturing quirks on any of my plugs. While aesthetics of a smart plug aren't particularly important, I wouldn't be comfortable trusting a no-name brand plug with a poor exterior to have safe internals. SwitchBot really surprised me with the quality as soon as I picked up my first plug, and I was happy to find no defects on any of my 50.- They work cloud-free, if necessary. Many of the plugs on Amazon rely on their proprietary app and proprietary online API, rendering the plugs entirely useless if their company no longer supports them. After setting up these plugs, they continue to work without internet directly over Bluetooth, with few functional compromises. Although most smart plugs on the market are currently ESP based (which is an IoT Bluetooth/WiFi module), many of them only utilize the WiFi features after setup. SwitchBot ensured the longevity of their product by allowing it to work in-app over Bluetooth.- They're accurate out of the box. In my lab, I was able to measure each plug's reported metrics with a calibrated test load and against a calibrated power meter. I found the device itself to consume 0.6-0.9 W on average, and measure the calibrated load accurately down to a tenth of a Watt. Extremely good quality, considering some plugs off Amazon measure 5-10 watts off, out of the box. Some stuff for the advanced users: these work great with Tasmota, allowing you to utilize Home Assistant / whatever setup your smart home already uses, finetune the calibration, disable the toggle button, disable the bluetooth, etc.All in all, SwitchBot took the existing smart plug market and designed a plug that outperforms the competitors at a price point that blows them out of the water. They work amazingly out of the box and can also be better tweaked with third party software like Tasmota.

I use this mini switch to control my 3D printer which can use a decent amount of energy. I have a camera on the printer to monitor the progress. Prints can take many hours if not days. Once completed I can remotely shut download the printer. I can also start the printer up to warm it up for a new print. Great reliable product. Love Switchbot!

This is a very nice plug at a competitive price. It handles 15 amps, but be warned, if you operate this at 10 amps or above for more than a few minutes, it will get very, very hot. Installation is very difficult because the SwitchBot app is very inflexible and gave me at least 20 errors before it finally connected. To get this to work, I had to move the switch within a foot of the router. What I like about this plug is that it reports the voltage, power and current and even provides a measurement of the power on duration. I do worry that this device gets so hot when being used with devices pulling more than ten amps, and I cant help but think it will shorten the lifetime. I will report back later if I find any issues with longevity.

As title says, I'm a month into ownership and so far no issues.I use it in conjunction with their thermo/hydrometer to trigger an event to turn this switch on which is connected to an evaporative cooler. Regular appliance turned into a basic smart device! It has power monitoring as well, allowing me to see how much said appliance is costing too.I run 8 switches of another brand that lacks that feature. It was an upgraded cost to get, whereas the price of this includes it already. A+ there.
Want to water your plants Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday from 1:11 am till 12:02 pm? Me neither, but with the scheduling function on this thing, it would be really easy. Attach to a pump and work out your drippers/connections. This thing will make turning the pump on and off the easiest part. It connected without trouble, and after the schedule completes, it creates a log of it having been executed-- checkable anywhere, on your phone.
I have a touch lamp I recently acquired and it has only one touch spot on the right side, which is a problem when you're on the right side of your bed and the lamp is on the night stand. Super hard to turn off. So I got this and finally got to turn off the lamp before bed without having to get out of bed or overreaching. Because it's a touch lamp, it doesn't work for turning on the lamp, but maybe one of the other devices will in the future.Update: SwitchBot and my touch lamp were not a great fit after all. It's the lamps fault. I found smart light bulbs solve the problem. As far as the SwitchBot plug, it is just as amazing as previously described and has found a new job.
Works fine with the SwitchBot app. Unfortunately, it does not work well with the Home Assistant SwitchBot or HomeKit integrations. Does not appear in the SwitchBot integration, but does appear in the HomeKit (HK) integration. However, in HK, it only appears as a smartplug which can be turned on or off, no energy monitoring is available.
I'd been looking for a device that I could measure the power being used. Not only did I get that for a good price, but the ability to switch it on and off is amazing. Sometimes I think Switchbot is reading my mind when they come out with new products.
I bought this to turn my gas water heater on and off because we are not home often. This has exceeded my expectations. I am able to program schedules, and control it from anywhere that I am. If it has internet access, I can turn my water heater on from another state or country if I need to. Will buy more to control other things. I don't know if it mentioned in the product description but it can handle up to 15A.
I have a hard time in connecting this plug to my wifi, especially the app is a little bit confusing to use. At the beginning the "code" to authenticate to connect the device is a horrible experience. I tried to use SmartLife but unfortunately it isn't compatible. So, SwitchBot app is the only app working. One of the feature of this plug I like to use is the "Energy Monitor", or real-time power meter via wifi/app in another terms. It works, when it is in high wattage usage(~1500W), it reports about 3% higher than it should, when it is in low wattage usage(~100W), it reports pretty close to the actual usage. So, keep that in mind, the numbers it reported appears to be "reference" only. The other feature I like which is not very commonly found in other Smart Plugs is ... MoreI have a hard time in connecting this plug to my wifi, especially the app is a little bit confusing to use. It will be more perfect if it can compatible other common app like the SmartLife/Tuya.
