Tamiya 1/48 De Havilland Mosquito B Mk.IV/PR Mk.IV Kit
The versatile Mosquito stood with the Spitfire fighter and Lancaster bomber and earned the respect of British pilots during World War II. In 1939, the De Havilland company envisioned the plane to be an unarmed high-speed bomber, and had experience with the Comet, which was a wooden racing plane. Except for the engine and landing gear, the Mosquito was comprised of wood, offering strategic advantages. The Air Ministry was reluctant to adopt the wooden aircraft, but placed orders for 50 planes in March 1940 for reconnaissance use. In November 1940, the Mosquito reached speeds of 630km/h during test flights, demonstrating its potential and quickly promoting additional orders of 150 planes. The Mosquito PR Mk.I reconnaissance plane was first deployed in July 1941; the B Mk.IV bomber started deployment in the Spring of 1942. On May 31, 1942, the Mosquitoes led a daylight raid on Caim. In September 1942, the Gestapo headquarters in Oslo was bombed. German officials delivering a daytime speech in Berlin were attacked on January 30, 1943. These events demonstrated the Mosquito's ability to carry heavy loads and deliver low altitude surprise attacks with accuracy. The camera equipped PR Mk. IV reconnaissance plane discovered the German Battleship Tirpitz in the Artic Circle and scouted V2 rocket facilities. The Mosquitoes performed their duties with minimal losses, displaying their remarkable abilities.

Considering how long ago this model was released by Tamiya it is still one of if not the best examples of the aircraft in 1/48th scale. The detail on the outside and interior is of a good standard and due to its age there are a lot of options when it comes to upgrades.

This is a great kit with very crisp detailing and zero flash on the sprues. All the pin hole ejection marks are in areas where you'll never see them and all the parts fit together with minimal need for filler or other fettling. I'll definitely be buying the FB variant later on. You can really detail this kit if you want too so the sky really is the limit for this aircraft.

Excellent detail and fit. Tamiya decals provided. Good packaging into the plastic bags. Yet another great kit from Tamiya for its fair price.

I havent started this yet but I bought it after researching the kit. It should go together well and is perfect for someone of my experience and ability which I would describe as just left beginner and pushed into intermediate.
Excellent Detailed kit, fits like a treat and just a pleasure to build.Best mosquito Kit on the Market along with the other Mosquito kit by Tamiya.Must buy for anyone modelling ww2 Aircraft.
The Revell Mosquito construction kit is an excellent way of passing the hours of lockdown. It makes good model although some of the wheel landing gear is very small and rather fiddly but as long as you are patient the end result is good.
This is an excelent kit, well detailed, fits together well, no filler needed at all. The result, well, I'm very pleased
Good model even for its age, Good decals nicely moulded.
This is a great model and great detail as you would assume from a tamiya kit. Good price
I purchased this Tamiya De Havilland Mosquito PR Mk.IV 1:48 Scale Model Kit from your Carlisle store after I received my £5.00 voucher for my birthday. I have yet to assemble it. I have inspected it and it seems to be a really good comprehensive kit with good clear instructions. I am looking forward to making this kit in the near future.
