APS-C - f/2.8 to f/16, 18-32mm (35mm Equivalent), Fast Ultra-Wide Angle Zoom, Rapid eXtra Silent Stepping Drive Motor, 1x XLD, 2x GM Asph., and 2x LD Elements, BBAR-G2 Lens Coating, Weather-Sealed Construction, Rounded 7-Blade Diaphragm The dynamic 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A2 RXD Lens from Tamron is a fast-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom lens for Canon RF-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. It features a fast and constant f/2.8 maximum aperture and has a compact and lightweight design. This ultra-wide lens is particularly suitable for landscape astrophotography and architectural shooting. Its bright f/2.8 aperture complements this range and affords increased control over depth of field along with enhanced low-light performance. The optical design incorporates one XLD element two LD elements and two glass-molded aspherical elements to produce a highly corrected image with reduced chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color accuracy. Individual elements also feature Tamron's BBAR coating which suppresses flare and ghosting for greater contrast when working in backlit and harsh lighting conditions. A responsive RXD stepping drive motor enables quick near silent autofocus performance to suit stills and video. The minimum object distance is just 5.9 at the widest end of the zoom range unlocking powerful wide-angle macro shooting capability with a unique perspective that makes near objects look larger and distant objects smaller. Additionally the f/2.8 maximum aperture produces a shallower depth-of-field that creates soft bokeh background details. Moisture-resistant construction protect the lens under inclement conditions and a fluorine coating on the front lens element protects against dust dirt and smearing.

This product is excellent. Tamron has seriously upgraded their game in the ultra wide angle lens selection. Although this lens is a bit more expensive than the Sony mount, still it's quite cheaper than nearest rival Fuji 10-24 F/4.This lens is small & lightweight yet very fast at F/2.8 aperture. So hand holding for shooting the low light is not a problem.

TL;DR - For shooting video on FF sensor...-Bought for real estate content-Best image: Set clear image zoom to 1.2x (but will disable Face/Eye AF)-If you need Face/Eye AF: Don't go below 14mm-For an APSC-C lens, it resolves best shooting in 4K (1080p is fine though on A7IV)-Requires reducing of vignette in post*DISCLAIMER* I'm knowingly/intentionally using this lens for video only on a full frame sensor which it is not designed for, and therefore I have several caveats for using this lens as mentioned above. But I gave it 5-stars because despite them because this lens gets the job done while checking so many boxes no other lens currently does and also I imagine on a APS-C camera this lens is absolutely stellar.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IF YOUR LOOKING TO USE ... MoreTL;DR - For shooting video on FF sensor...-Bought for real estate content-Best image: Set clear image zoom to 1.2x (but will disable Face/Eye AF)-If you need Face/Eye AF: Don't go below 14mm-For an APSC-C lens, it resolves best shooting in 4K (1080p is fine though on A7IV)-Requires reducing of vignette in post*DISCLAIMER* I'm knowingly/intentionally using this lens for video only on a full frame sensor which it is not designed for, and therefore I have several caveats for using this lens as mentioned above. I wanted a wide angle zoom that checked the following boxes 1. ultra wide option - 2 & 3. AF and lightweight for use on a DJI RS 2 - 4. Low aperture for low light environments - 5. Could take front filters so I can use VND - 6. Affordable. After looking at all the full frame options, it appeared I wouldn't be able to get exactly what I was looking for.My best bet was going with the Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G Lens - but the front glass design doesn't allow for filters, the lens is f/4, and with tax is over $1,800 (which I could have accepted if not for the first two features) - so I decided to do more research. After watching Caleb Pike's 10 Sony Camera Hacks for Filmmakers! video and saw him use the APS-C designed Sony 10-18mm f/4 on the a7s III, I looked through all the wide angle lens options for APS-C on B&H and found this lens. The TL;DR above summarizes most of my observations about the lens, and I would just add that the AF works but I need to do more testing to determine exactly how well (obviously with ultra wide focal lengths, setting to manual focus covers a lot situations since it's already achieving deep focus).Since it's designed for APS-C, it doesn't resolves as well as FF glass, but shooting in 4K and then pixel peeping in post, it is acceptable for my purposes. If you're interested in this lens for the reasons I was, I'd recommend testing it for yourself. At the end of the day, for me this is speciality lens for shooting ultra wide video on a gimbal. And to that, it allows me to work incredibly fast on set, and the trade off is a little more work in post.*Please note my uploaded images are from H.264 compressed video*

I am using the 11-20 f2.8 partnered with the Tamron 17-70 f2.8. They both play very well with the FX30's great autofocus, and the camera reads the metadata from the lens for use in post stabilization. They both have the same front thread size.I have not done any quality testing, but have been happy with the images I'm getting. They both feel solid without being heavy, and controls are smooth.I took off one star because I have not done quality tests.

In short, this is the best wide angle lens for Sony APS-C. I have the Rokinon 12mm, Sigma 16mm, and have used the Sony 10-18mm, but overall the 11-20 is best. The f/2.8, the close focusing distance, the sun stars, sharpness and contrast, color rendition, range and size/weight give this lens the what no other lens can. The lack of online reviews/exposure kept me from getting to excited. Which is a shame because after a few days with the lens and I was left super impressed. Finally, I was able to do astro with this lens and it's not as good as the Rokinon 12mm or Sigma 16mm, but it can produce nice milky way photos. If I had to bring one wide-angle zoom or prime lens, then this is the one I would chose. When I travel, my camera gear has gotten lighter and faster. For my latest trip to the Teton National Park, I needed an ultra-wide angle for some large vistas. I read about Tamron's new 11-20mm ultrawide lens for Fuji X-Mount cameras. I wanted to try it before I buy it. I rented the lens for two weeks and it did not disappoint. The lens focused fast, very sharp, quiet, and most of all light. The one thing I did not like was, no aperture ring. That seems to be the norm these days for all the new automatic cameras. With all that said, Lens Rentals is a great place to go for something you do not use very often, or just need for a specific purpose for a short time.
Everything in the kit, except for the "small" lens pouch, is great. Small is the operative word as I thought the pouch would fit the new 11-20mm lens, I was wrong. Certainly not a deal breaker and I do like and will use the other accessories. As for the 11-20mm lens, all the reviews are spot on. Still getting used to the lens but using an external flash (on auto) seems to be a bit of overkill and I noticed the video is darker indoors than with my Tamron 17-70mm (on auto setting) so that will take more experimenting. I got this for still photography and me vlogging would only annoy the world. Shots are sharp and great using my A6300. I know, the A6400 or A6700 would be a nice upgrade but my A6300 works great and is paid for.
Performance overall is 5 star. But I took off one star for not having an aperture ring (nor a switch for IS) Most folks buy Fujifilm for the tactile controls like aperture rings.I do multiple tests on every lens I buy. In the past I've gone through as many as 3 samples of Tamron zoom lenses. But this one was great on the first try. Good throughout the aperture range with diffraction softening at smallest apertures. It's soft at the edges when using on my infrared body (I use Fujifilm X-T5 bodies) but that isn't unusual on an ultrawide with IR. Using normal visible light photography the lens is a great performer, has a reasonably solid feel to it, very compact for f2.8, focuses close. There are many reviews on this lens but in real world use I really like it. So ... MorePerformance overall is 5 star. Solid build, sharp and lightweight. Great bokeh. Will likely stay on my camera for street. This is an amazing focal length for aspc cameras and Tamron executed well. The autofocus is crispy, haven’t even tried manual focus but feels smooth. It was between this one or the 15mm sony prime. Very happy with the zoom.
I bought this lens to use with a full spectrum modified Sony A6400. It is replacing a Sigma 18-35MM f/1.8 which I found leaked infrared light. I used the Tamron last night photographing the Milky Way. No infrared leakage. Sky seeing & transparency was poor but stars appeared sharp with very minor coma issues in the corners at F/2.8, 20mm. My Sigma needed to to be set from F/1.8 to f/2.8 to get similar results. So this is just one night but I am pleased with the Tampon 11-20mm lens performance. Looking forward to trying the Tamron against my Rokinon 14mm lens for wider angle night photography. Only regret is price has dropped $50 from my purchase last month but that means its a good time to get one.
Wow, I just received the lens today and I'm confident I won't regret giving it a five star rating. I tested the lens on an A7C and shot both in and out door for about 150 pictures. This lens is sharp for the censor, it's light, fast, focus well, it can get very close to the subject and the price is very reasonable. The 67mm opening is perfect for all the filters I already have. I haven't tried it on my A7R4 yet, so not sure the high resolution sensor will expose any shortcoming or not. However, that's not important, my primary goal is a small and fast wide angle zoom to travel with A7C and this lens is perfect.
