First, let’s start with the gorgeous packaging. The tube with the purple and gold lid and the letter really makes this a beautiful container. I love the large doe foot applicator. This applies for a tiny amount of product to as much as needed for highlighting the face if needed. I like that I can put a tiny dot under the eyes and use a bigger amount on my freckles or zits. This product is less drying than the original formula. I highly recommend to use a hydrating moisturizer and eye cream under the eyes. I also apply hydrating primer under the eyes before I apply this. For me, I just use a tiny dot and then dab it into my under eyes to prevent it settling into my fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes. Deserves Award for Worst Packaging Ever

Every time I start running low on this, I cross my fingers and hope to god that Tarte has finally fixed the packaging before I need to repurchase. And every time, I am severely disappointed to see that nothing has been done about this leaky tube which pushes product out and gets EVERYWHERE no matter what I do. How is this still an issue after so many years? It's such a waste of product and the bane of my existence every morning while I get ready.Unfortunately I do continue to repurchase this product, faulty packaging and all, because apparently I'm a masochist.

Great product, Horrible packaging

This is a frustrating review to write because the actual product itself is fantastic. I was having issues with dry, crepey skin under my eyes and this, and Ilia true skin serum concealer were the only ones that didn't settle into the fine lines. The SUPER irritating part is that the bottle it comes in is horrendous. You literally lose half the product because it gets trapped in the cap and the portion where you screw the cap on so you're constantly having to wipe off excess concealer or it gets everywhere. I went with the travel size of this product - I got the 29N light-medium. I bought it because I already use Tarte luminizers and I love them.Well, I loved this product so much that a week later, I went and bought the full size (I will save the travel size for when I have to do makeup on the go.)I have used practically every concealer known to mankind and this is the only one that really delivers. I have mature skin that is very dry and this product is really creamy and keeps my undereye area hydrated all day long! It spreads beautifully and I mix it with my luminizer to brighten my eye area.So far, I have been very pleased with every Tarte product I have bought and they are the only ones that I buy repeats of because they are staples in my makeup routine!

It's been traumatic...

I have been in LOVE with the original Tarte Shape Tape Concealer for a while now and have been using it for years. Even while having to work during the pandemic, I left all of my other face makeup products except for the concealer and I would use it on a daily basis.In mid-December, I was heading over to my cousin's house for a fun all-girls weekend and was super low on the concealer. And that was the start of a traumatic three months...My eyes became puffy and deformed and reddened... And each time I didn't even think it was the concealer because to me, the concealer was the one product that I have been using for so long that there wasn't any way that it was the problem... Even throughout the months, I would stop eyeliner, curling my lashes, mascara, shadow, brows, etc. but I would put on the concealer thinking that at least my darkened eye lid concealers would be concealed... And it would get worse and it would flair up at different times and they would get different shapes, and swollen and red...I went to speak to nurses, doctors, and they would tell me to try hot compresses to help (which I did) and a prescription but it would get better but never go away...I had been going to work for over 8 years with makeup on and even though I was told to give them a break, I would just put a "little" concealer to cover up (with the medicine on the eyes) to help conceal...I would stop using makeup entirely, they would then get better, but as soon as I would try makeup again, they would flair up. First I thought it was my mascara (I threw it out and purchased a new one), then I thought it was my eyelash curler, and then finally, thank God, one night (after wearing the concealer in the day), my eyes flared up and my mom noticed that the redness was also on my forehead a bit on my cheeks (exactly where I apply the concealer) and then it hit me...I went and did research and I was like, this is a different one! With a totally new formula with different ingredients that I am probably allergic to one of them...I finally went on a two week long absolutely no makeup regime (the first time in over eight years!) and I am reintroducing back a different concealer pretty soon. I never thought that I would go sans makeup to work, but this experience had at least that positive effect! The silver lining :)I would absolutely NOT recommend this concealer to any person...

Like it but don't love it...

I really appreciate the mini sizes on these so I can try the product before spending the money on the full size. (Seriously, is there anything worse than spending money on a product, only to find out that you hate it when it arrives?) I purchased this concealer in shade 12B Fair Beige. Huge positive was that it truly was for cool undertones. On the plus side, this concealer is very creamy, blendable and did not settle into fine lines like many thicker concealers do. It did not feel like I was wearing anything on my skin at all. Negatives were the scent and the extremely light coverage. Fortunately, the scent seemed to fade quickly but why give a concealer a fake rose scent in the first place. (Enough with the perfumes already!) I love this concelear! I have shade 22n and it matches me almost perfectly. I bought this for the first time when it was 50% off on the shape tape anniversary and I'm so glad I did. I use this as both a foundation and a concelear. I'd say it has about medium coverage. It wears very well throughout the day on my combo skin. I have acne scars and this does not emphasize texture at all. I do notice that around particularly dry areas on my nose it can cling to it a little, so this might not be good for those with dry skin. I took off a star because 1) the bottle can get pretty messy on the sides easily and 2) you have to blend it quickly before it dries down because it dries down fast. Since I've entered my 30s I've had a hard time finding a concealer that doesn't settle into the fine lines around my eyes difficult. I use the color 22B to cover under my eyes and I use shade 20B as a spot concealer elsewhere on my face. I use a beauty blender to blend it. Prior to blending I let it sit on my skin for a few minutes so that the product has a chance to warm up. I don't put any other product under my eyes in order to prevent from getting too much product there which can also lend to creasing. I use a setting spray after blending out the concealer. I still do get minimal creasing but it is very minimal and I just take my dry beauty blender and tap the areas where the slight product settling has occurred to remove the product build up. I tried the original Shape Tape years ago, but I found it to be heavy and greasy, so I wasn't a fan. When I saw this Ultra Creamy version, I wanted to try it again. I LOVE IT! First, the color selection is wonderful, with fair shades that are truly fair and not so yellow, as I find with most concealers. Second, I love being able to try shades in smaller sizes to see what will work best for me. This product is not as thick as the regular Shape Tape, which made it easier for me to blend and gave me more natural coverage. I wear it with a color corrector (Revolution or Bobbi Brown), and I find this to be a great finish to correcting those dark undereye circles. I use it with a setting powder, and it stays crease-free and professional looking all day! You Won't Regret

I LOVE THIS CONCEALER! I consider it as flexible. You can create a very natural look from it or you can also slowly build it up to make it full coverage. I never set my face with powder or setting spray but the concealer is GOOD. It doesn't smudge or move at all. Oh and the shade match my skin tone really well.Aside from that, I'm not a big fan of the packaging - it leaks! I don't know how and why. I really hope it can be improve cause I really like the concealer and I usually have a very hard time to pick the right concealer for my skin type.
