Thayers 234672 Toning Witch Hazel Lemon Towelettes 30 Count

I absolutely love Thayer’s Witch Hazel, particularly the Rose Petal variety, so I was ecstatic when these towelettes popped up on store shelves. Unfortunately, they are not moist enough from the start for proper toning. And even with the lid completely sealed throughout the time I used them, between uses, etc- they only became progressively drier as time went by (likely because they are a bit too dry from the start). I'm a little bit dissapointed in these. At first I liked them, but the more I use them the less I like them. First, I feel like they've significantly dried out. I did find them at a decent price at TJMAXX. I Don't care for this fragrance much, as it reminds me of household cleaner. (almost smells like a clorox wipe). What I did enjoy was the extreme convenience of this product for travel. It's not a full bottle of toner, so it makes traveling very easy and convenient and one less risk of getting to your destination with spilled liquid. It's also not big, so again, absolutely perfect for travels (that was the original reason why I bought it.) I was going away for the weekend and didn't want to bring too much with me so this was perfect.

Disappointed…

Used to love, love these. They are so thin now that they roll up when you try to wipe your skin. I have to stop and unroll the wipe and then start over again. Also agree with another reviewer that they feel very dry (dryer compared to the last time I purchased) and seem like they need more liquid.

Disappointing and wouldn't buy again

I love thayers toner so I thought I'd love these wipes but I did not. The plastic seal under the lid was extremely hard to open and almost impossible to get all of the plastic off. The lid won't pop back on tightly after opening the plastic seal either. Every time I try to pull a wipe out the lid pops off and the wipe tears on the pull out opening. Just horrible packaging all around. The only thing I like is that it smells good. I'll stick to the liquid toner + a cotton pad though once these are gone bc its not the quality I expected. I wouldn't be surprised if the 28 left in the container dry out before use bc the lid won't pop on properly and comes off with every use.

Don't buy these ones.

I’m general I love thayers. That said, these are the worst. Both the package and the towelettes are tiny. TINY. Like the moist towelette from a cut-rate BBQ place. They are also not very saturated, despite coming sealed. The top does not allow the towelettes to come through so they just tear into bits in your fingers. You’re absolutely better off getting their liquid witch hazel and buying a different brand of wipes if you really want witch hazel in that format. Target sells a brand called TN Dickinsons that is superior in all ways other than the actual pleasantness/scent of the witch hazel.

Needs Improvement

First off, the towlette itself is very good. Its strength is it doesn't shed like most do. It holds up very well to wiping my face & shaved head. Rose scent is excellent and I feel clean & fresh after using one. The moisture level of the towlettes is very good. Have had one open for a week and no issue with drying out. It is the time of year when a product like this will not dry out as fast, but I would just use some of the Rose facial toner spray to moisturize them if they seem a bit dry. That said; the towlette is small. I would like to see it the size of a standard sanitary wipe. 25 wipes are not consumer friendly and doubling that amount would make a purchase much more equitable. The plastic is just too stiff and the towlettes just snag . I am just taking the top off and removing a towlette one at a time because I want to keep my sanity and not end up destroying the towlettes as I attempt to pull one out through that too stiff plastic opening. A soft container with a rectangular opening to dispense would make this a much more useful product. That and enlarging the towlettes as well as doubling (at least) the count would justify the cost imho. Trash the container...it's a loser.

New Go-to for sure!

I've used the liquid witch hazel and cotton pads for years in the past and never saw any difference. I tried these on a whim and now they're a must have for me. We have a fairly fast paced household, so having something quick and easy is a skin-saver. The biggest seller for me, other than being quick, is the fact that these do offer a little bit of texture for very gentle exfoliating - yet the formula doesn't both my typically-easy to flare up skin nor does it dry it out or cause more issues. My face actually feels clean, calmed, soothed, hydrated, smooth, and - something I haven't felt in a very long time - NORMAL!!

Not well designed.

When you are pulling the towelette out, they tend to keep going and make it hard to close the lid. But God forbid you push them back in - your finger will be trapped and clamped and you will need to jam other things down in this bear trap to get your finger out. The towelettes themselves are nice in quality - like a disposable travel wash cloth, but they are barely covered in the product and are pretty much dry. Even the last towelette in the container was dry... I had been using the toner to moisten the towls... but I shouldn't have to for the price. Not a fan of this one. It should be removed from the shelves and remade with better packaging and more toner.

I was extremely excited to try these towelettes for 2 mains reasons 1.) I use toner everyday 2.) the wipes are a super convenient and easy method . The very first thing i noticed about this product is it's extremely small ! I mean, the packaging is almost palm size , I guess I was expecting something a little bigger, or more so along the size of traditional makeup wipes. On the plus side, it's definitely unscented which I greatly appreciate since the smell of original which hazel makes me nauseous. For cons other than them being so small, I find that the wipes aren't that moist either and they're a bit difficult to come out one by one in the container. Recommend for travel

I've purchased the toning bottles for quite a while but I decided to try these as they seemed more convenient. I love that they are compostable but there aren't many sheets and they are stupid hard to get them to stay in the hole to pull them out easily. The towelettes are soaked enough to have enough toner for your entire face and neck and a little extra. The towelette size itself is a little on the small size though. This product is probably best for travel rather than an everyday use.
