I had previously owned the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro and it lasted 6 years without any issues, I loved it. Decided to "upgrade" to the Joule version when my original smart oven finally gave out... what a mistake. Do not bother with this low quality upgrade that didn't even last 6 months. Stick with the original! The Joule unit began experiencing electrical issues after 1 month, to the point of overheating the electrical outlet and tripping the CFGI. The outlet itself was burning hot! Absolutely not worth the money. The Joule aspect of the oven is also underwhelming. I ended up throwing out the oven due to fire hazard and repurchased the original smart oven air fryer pro. Have had 0 issues! If you want a quality smart oven that will last, SKIP THE JOULE! If your trying to replace your oven based upon electricity costs, I think this oven is a great product. I use this oven to cook pretty much everything and have never turned on my oven since getting it. The oven while pretty amazing is filled with a lot idiosyncrasies, that you will have to navigate through to get the results you want.A big issue with the oven is the temperatures, I always need to go much higher than I normally would. Like 20 or 30 degrees higher. I'm not sure it's temperature stable either, For example if the oven is at temperature and I turn off the oven and immediately turn the oven back on, it seems to need to heat back up to for another 5minutes. This is something I've seen in other reviews. So I can confirm it is true.While I have really enjoyed the oven, the fan broke just under one year, so I'm not sure the oven is gonna last once the two year warranty expires. If it does break after warranty I'm not sure I would pay to get it repaired, not for an appliance that costs a fortune. It should last a long time and should be easily serviceable. So at this moment I'm not sure I would recommend this product to anybody to be honest.

We purchased this in October of 2022, so we have had it about a year and a half, a little longer. As of yesterday, May 28, 2024, the fan makes this loud grinding sound. The oven is no longer usable because of this. I am super sad about this,and Breville gave me a half baked response that did not address my concern. For that reason, I can not in good conscience recommend this oven, though had you asked me a week ago, I absolutely would. Customer service will make or break a business, and Breville's CS is seriously lacking. I had to return it to the store and replace it by ordering another one in-store. I originally bought the medium sized one for myself loved it so I bought one for my mom in the small size and one for my mother in law in the medium size and another for my future inlaws in the air pro large size. Since then my original the door stopped working so I bought the large newer model the air fry pro which I also loved. Until the door wouldn't shut. So I bought another. NOW THIS IS MY 3RD personal one and now the oven just falls open the mechanism now instead of refusing to shut it makes the oven think its not shut I guess and it makes it so none of the functions but the toast work! I am able to use quarter sheer pans, 9 X 13 baking pans, and a13” pizza pan which allows me to bake my own round pizzas. The oven interior has a very nice nonstick surface which makes it easy to clean. Both the oven interior and racks are built with similar quality of what you would expect in a full sized oven. Everything I’ve tried to bake and cook has come out very well. This oven has a “super convection” mode for air frying which works surprisingly well. I just pick an ingredient recipe from the app and tell it to start cooking. The oven sets the recipe temperature and preheats. Once preheated it pauses and alerts you that it’s time to put your food in the oven. Some recipes even work on what’s referred to as “autopilot”. This appears to automatically take the oven through its multi-cooker phases. Plus with a two year warranty, this was a very good purchase for me. This oven will easily do everything my full size kitchen oven does, and then some.

Unless I suppose you're following a recipe from the app you can't actually control the oven at all unless you're standing right in front of it. This is especially true for the smart home integration, which cannot start the oven unless you physically push the start button. If I'm standing right in front of the over, why on Earth would I ask Alexa to set the oven to bake... it's so silly and useless.Adding to that, and something very much NOT advertised, is the fact that you loose phase cooking with the smart version and that button is replaced with "a little more".
