How could one not purchase this serum after seeing the thousands of raving reviews about it! I’m pretty pleased with this serum. My skin type is dry-combo and sensitive. Very prone to broken capillaries (blood vessels) when harsh products are used on my skin. My t-zone area is pretty normal to oily/ sweaty while the rest of my face (cheeks, chin, forehead) is pretty dry all season long with occasional dry patches or flakey skin. The nights I exfoliate, my skin can feel and look immediately parched. I use this cold pressed virgin oil immediately after exfoliating and toning by putting a few drops in my hands, rubbing together and pasting into my face. It absorbs well and truly replenishes hydration immediately. I do not use this every night, but I feel like drier skin types could. I do not recommend using on face in morning if you plan to wear makeup that day. Sometimes, I do my entire skin care routine THEN apply this at the very end (last layer on top of my serums and moisturizer) to help seal it all in. My favorite use of this oil is to use on the ends of my hair for hydration when they are feeling extra dry, brittle, split or damaged. I use it on either damp or dry hair BUT ONLY when I plan on washing it the next day. Otherwise, it would be too heavy to style.[brand:the-ordinary-21]

Let's start with the face. I use this oil in my evening routine, at the very end, twice a week, or at least I try to use it that many times, I won't deny that sometimes I forget 🙈 2-3 drops of oil are enough, I pat them on the skin of my face and then massage it into my face with a facial massager. If you don't have any massagers, your fingers will do the job just as well, use them 👋 I would also recommend using the oil maybe an hour before going to bed to absorb it. Hair. About an hour before washing my hair, I rub the ends with oil. The results pleasantly surprised me. The ends of the hair are soft, moisturized and shiny. this is by far the best marula oil on the market and it's very affordable. I will never go back to using any other marula oil. I've tried other products of this nature and they did not deliver as promised. it's thick and you only need two to three drops for your whole face. don't over do it. a little goes a long way with this product. Pat it into your face, don't rub it in or u may end up with clogged pores. it's super hydrating and great for around the eyes. I'm 42 but you would never know it. I love that I can add this oil to any other products that I own, my shampoo, my body wash, my lotion and it adds that extra layer of moisture that my skin craves. Definitely recommend this product.
My bottle of marula oil has arrived cloudy and thick. Not very appealing, and can’t even get the oil in or out of the stopper. Because I know oil can solidify when cold, I’ve tried leaving the bottle in warm water for 20 minutes, but this has not worked. Even warming some of it in my hands in its current thick paste state doesn’t do anything. I want to return the item, but have noticed that The Ordinary doesn’t provide free returns — this is cheeky to have to make a customer pay for tracked shipping for a product they are unhappy with. Especially when the shipping will cost more than the product did… Disappointed in both the Marula product and the company, which is a shame as I love the hyaluronic acid and the peptide hair serum.
I just got my Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and it’s different from the previous ones that I used to receive from The Ordinary. It’s ticker than the previous ones but the worst part is the smell. It has an awful petroleum-like smell and not a nice feeling when you are spreading it on your skin. The smell doesn’t go away even after a while that the product is on your skin. I’ve been using the ordinary Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil for some years and this is not the same oil that I used to get. I compared the new oil with one that I still have from before and the consistency is different and the previous one has no smell. Not sure but has The Ordinary changed the formula or added something to the previous one or this product went wrong? I'm not sure if I can or want ... MoreI just got my Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and it’s different from the previous ones that I used to receive from The Ordinary. I have purple hair. This requires maintenance and can be damaging. But I olaplex and buy high quality products. I picked this up mostly for my hands, elbows and knees as they are dry. But I have uses this now a number of times in my hair when it needs moisture after it's dry and my conditioner wasn't enough. It keeps my hair smooth and gives it the slip it needs not tangle or break. Like when I accidentally used a shampoo that did the opposite of what ir claimed and stripped the moisture from my hair and hands (from the shampooing). I have fine hair so I use just a bit of it and it goes a long way for me. i also don't use it on my face (except for my lips when chapped) as it will cause me to break out. And the price is affordable enough that if it goes bad I can easily buy another.
I don’t think I could ever be without this product. I’m from the uk and bought this is November. I find when the weather changes and is cold my skin becomes more dry. I suffered with eczema on the corner of my eyes this year. I applied very very small amount on the area and it cleared up in less than a week. I love how the product goes on my skin. It makes it look radiant, hydrated and healthy. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has dry skin. Don’t worry if the oil looks cloudy and thick. It’s just because it’s cold. I left my bottle on warm water for a few minutes and it turns it back to a liquid. I will definitely be buying this product again
I bought this as a risk as I love oils for both my skin and hair. After doing a lil research I decided to buy this as it 100% marula and nothing else. And I am not a fan. For pre poo, mixing into other oils for hot oik treatments for my hair. Mixed with castor oil to seal water into my coily kinky afro hair. Used after a body butter or a hydration body gel to seal in moisture and my skin feels glorious in the morning. I like to go to bed very oily/greasy I get the best results for my skin. I haven't used this on my face yet as I'm going through my other face oiks. When they are done I'll give it a go as a night oil.
This is the first time I used Marula oil. I only got it as an afterthought just to get a free shipping. I’m glad I did. As I was applying it onto my face, all I could think of how lovely it was. It has a very light almost imperceptible smell that reminds me of a smell of black currant berries. It feels like a moisturizer rather than oil. It also partially absorbs into skin rather just sitting on top. Skin feels fresh and revitalized after application. I would definitely recommend trying it. My only request to the manufacturer is to offer organic version of it as well.
