It’s semi silky and semi moist anyways but yes and it absorbs very quickly which is nice. You don’t need a ton it spreads very easily and does not leave any residue or greasy feeling behind it dries down fairly quickly after absorbing and leaves the skin very soft and smooth I love running my fingers across my face after. All good things, even for oily skin
15 June 2024

I’ve had this oil for a few months now and I can’t think of any reason to dislike it. I have oily skin, so I don’t use this every day, but when it’s that time of the month my skin gets especially dry and then I can use it more frequently. Even so, I once ran out of my typical moisturizer and used this in place and I’ve found that it seems to almost stop oil production somehow, so my skin feels baby soft and smooth without extra shine. I think the Rosehip Oil is great for all skin types, and I’m thoroughly and pleasantly surprised by how well it works even on oily skin. I’m also trying to use it up as much as I can so it doesn’t go rancid on me before I can finish it, so I use it as a cuticle oil at night before bed and I’ve also found that my nails grow stronger and ... MoreI’ve had this oil for a few months now and I can’t think of any reason to dislike it. I also really like the scent, it’s nice and earthy and smells, idk, REAL, not like chemical-y or like a perfume, which I greatly appreciate as someone with a strong sense of smell. Please never change or discontinue this product! I love all of the products from The Ordinary that I’ve gotten, you guys never disappoint!

Amazing quality and texture!

Very impressed with TO's Rosehip Oil. I've used many in the past but none with this texture. When I apply this (3 drops on a night time) it sinks in within seconds as though it was never there! It doesn't even 'feel' like an oil when applying, almost like a water-in-oil. Hard to describe and something you can only appreciate once you've tried it for yourself. Having said that, I believe it depends on the batch you get as there are natural variations in aroma, color and texture with each one. Mine was 1B02 which is printed in blue ink near the bottom of the bottle, on the glass itself. Also unlike other Rosehip oils I've used in the past, this one doesn't smell of anything unless I really put my nose up close and even then it's very faint. Also unlike other Rosehip oils I've used in the past, this one doesn't smell of anything unless I really put my nose up close and even then it's very faint. As for the benefits, I love the hydration I get from this and how it gradually fades acne marks. Love the simple fuss-free packaging and easy to use dropper that allows for a measured, precise dispensing of the oil. The only thing I don't like, having a few TO products in rotation is that they all look identical at a glance and I've often started to apply one before realizing it isn't what I thought it was. The writing on the label is also quite small which doesn't help. But these are minor points, the bottom line is it works and is UNIQUE compared to the many Rosehip oils I've used over the years. I'm just hoping batch 1B02 wasn't a one-off and this quality is maintained in future batches! -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1. Best face oil

I'm on my second bottle. I don't find it smells bad at all, I find it actually quite pleasant. I think that people are just not used to using pure products that have no added fragrance, irritants or preservatives.. since the ordinary is buying specifically concentrated ingredients by themselves that is what you pay for.. but I love this serum so much . I have super dry skin and this combined with a hyaluronic acid serum and lightweight moisturizer is my saving grace. I do find, even though it's a "carrier oil", it is actually very lightweight and absorbs quickly! My skin drinks it right up. I also apply a bit more on my eyelashes right before putting mascara on to help them grow/ not dry them out. I highly recommend it!

I was gifted this product by a family member after stating I wanted to implement an oil into my skin care routine. My skin is perfect aside from occasional sebum and rare redness and this oil does wonders for both of those problems. I like to use this oil for oil cleansing, i massage my face with it for about 5-10 mins and the results after are wonderful. The oil does a great job at pulling out almost all the sebum from my skin (I can see the black dots on my hands and my skin just glows after with less visible dots!!). The oil has also calmed my redness over time. This is a staple in my routine now and my ultimate holy grail. Holy Grail for Dry skin! Please Read.

I was looking for a face oil, i recently started my skin healing journey. I had a damaged skin barrier; and i didn't know i did until i started breaking out randomly really bad, my face had a bunch of tiny white papules on the front of my cheeks, i had redness for days, and not to mention the random cystic acne as well. My skin was DRY and tight but oily at the same time. I was having dry patches and underneath it.. OILY. I used to shave my peachfuzz on my sideburns, (Dermaplaning), which only added to my dryness and irritation. Not to mention i was using a very stripping facewash. Regular face lotions wernt cutting it. I even tried CeraVe and all it did was break me out, like itchy and uncomfortable breaking out! So i invested in this wonderful oil. Regular face lotions wernt cutting it. I even tried CeraVe and all it did was break me out, like itchy and uncomfortable breaking out! So i invested in this wonderful oil. I use it right out of the shower or after washing my face with the Cetaphil hydrating foaming cleanser. The oil does have an earthy smell but nothing too overbearing. Its light! Doesn't bother me at all and im actually prone to headaches if i smell strong scents. So no need to worry about the scent. This oil has really helped rebuild my skin barrier! I couldn't even pop a pimple because my nails would peel my skin! It was that bad! This oil doesn't feel greasy at all. Its a very light oil. Does not break me out at all! If anything it has helped my breakouts. It calms the redness right down when im breaking out all over my cheeks and it has helped with redness in general that i always had. My skin feels so soft now, bounces back, has stopped having dry patches, and does not injure easily as it did before. Im so happy with this face oil. Only con i would have to say is that it sits on top of your skin for about an hour if you dont put a mositurizer on top, which isn't necessary a bad thing because i appreciate the extra layer of protection between my skin and the freezing dry air this winter. I really love this oil so much and im thankful i found this. I would like to add however once again, that you do need to use a mositurizer on top because the oil is not enough for this cold winter air. I use the neutrogena hydro boost on top of the oil. Extremely happy with this product. Will purchase again!

Magic for combination skin WITH eczema
24 January 2024

I don't typically review immediately after the first use but I jumped straight on here because y'all need to KNOW. This stuff feels SO GOOD. I have combination skin leaning toward oily and I also get eczema. All the oil control products flare my eczema, conversely eczema products make me super oily. I tried to find a happy medium with products for mature skin, but no. Tonight I used my cleanser, an AHA toner, applied Ordinary's lactic acid, then Ordinary's Rose Hip Seed Oil, then my moisturizer. When I tell you my skin hasn't been this soft and comfortable in 30 years, I am saying the last time my skin felt even close to this comfortable I was TWELVE YEARS OLD. Its such a light oil...within 5 minutes your skin just soaks it up and feels so soft and flawless. My 6 ... MoreI don't typically review immediately after the first use but I jumped straight on here because y'all need to KNOW. This stuff feels SO GOOD. I have combination skin leaning toward oily and I also get eczema. All the oil control products flare my eczema, conversely eczema products make me super oily. No itching, no tightness, no greasy film just sitting on top of my skin. I am absolutely astonished. I feel like one application erased years of using the wrong products for my skin. I am officially converted and brand-loyal. Putting this stuff on subscription...

Unbeatable quality oil!

Very impressed with TO's Rosehip Oil. I've used many in the past but none with this texture. When I apply this (3 drops on a night time) it sinks in within seconds as though it was never even there! It doesn't even 'feel' like an oil when applying, almost like a water-in-oil. Hard to describe and something you can only appreciate once you've tried it for yourself. Having said that, not all reviews of this oil describe it as I've done, and I believe it depends on the batch you get as there are natural variations in aroma, color and texture with each one. Mine was 1B02 which is printed in blue ink near the bottom of the bottle, on the glass itself. Also unlike other Rosehip oils I've used in the past, this one doesn't smell of anything unless I really put my nose up ... MoreVery impressed with TO's Rosehip Oil. Mine was 1B02 which is printed in blue ink near the bottom of the bottle, on the glass itself. Also unlike other Rosehip oils I've used in the past, this one doesn't smell of anything unless I really put my nose up close and even then it's a faint vegetable oil kind of smell, but so faint it's hardly noticeable. As for the benefits, I love the hydration I get from this and how it gradually fades acne marks. Conversely this can also cause acne if I use it every night, so I make sure to skip a day or two in the week, and allow my skin to have a break from it. -> My ‘Nordstrom Beauty Top 7 must-have list’ (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Nordstrom) <- < 1.
