I've been using this product for years, and over the course of time, my skin has been through a lot of changes. I've been oily, dry, combination, and constantly acne prone, I have fairly sensitive skin and this is one of my favorite products ever. It's not only super moisturizing and gives me a nice dewy glow (I usually apply a few drops before bed right after my moisturizer, or just mixed in) but being that it's so gentle, and totally scentless, I can use it on my lips + eye area (and all my most sensitive skin areas) generously to keep them moisturized. Per Usual: High Quality at an Affordable Price

I would highly recommend this Squalane oil to ANYONE looking for an affordable plant-derived Squalane. *While the listing for this product states it is appropriate for all Skin Types, I would have to caution those with oily skin (this is not for you). I’d say the limit on skin type would be combination. That being said, I have relatively “normal” skin (not too dry nor oily) and absolutely love this product. At the moment it is my top Squalane Oil. I have not tried the 100% oil from Biossance yet; however, it does not compare with The Ordinary’s pricing. This oil is ultra light leaving you refreshed yet without the oily feeling. Helpful Tip: A lot of people add it to their hair, but I just run my hands through my hair using the excess after facial application.

I got this with the natural moisturising factors +HA and squalene cleanser after doing their little quiz thing. I previously had random red eczema-like flare ups all over my body and a persistent patch on my face which didn't go away with or without moisturiser. I also wear a lot of dark eye makeup most days. I have very dry, acne-prone post-accutane skin. I can slather on heavy face creams and hydrating lotions all day and still feel just a little bit dry and tight. Nothing seems to really help except for this squalane serum. I apply another brand’s moisturizing lotion on damp skin after the shower, then a few drops of squalane over that… and boom, I feel moisturized and comfortable for the entire day. Amazing. I also love that it’s safe for acne-prone skin and gives me a nice dewy finish. All this for a very reasonable price. I would only caution friends with oily skin that the finish on this could be too slippery or greasy for them. It's hard to explain but most products make me feel sticky or a bit skin-crawly if not outright uncomfortable, and this just feels like skin. Even my previous fave 'skin calming' product (£45) now feels unpleasant in comparison. In addition when your skin produces its own oil during the day (combination skin here) you don't get that awful oil+moisturiser feeling that makes you feel as though you have an oil slick on your face and need to rush to a mirror. If I do get a bit of shine I just wipe it off because I'm not wearing makeup any more - did I mention clear skin? I'm sometimes concerned that it doesn't have a load of active ingredients, but I've tried so many things over the years including from here (eg Buffet, natural moisturisers, glycolic acid toner, marula oil) and all have irritated my skin or made me break out and frankly I'll take comfortable clear skin any day. I do wish we could get a larger size though. It does take a little experimenting: Don't use more than you need - 3 to 4 drops is plenty, but if it doesn't soak in tissue off excess. Serums underneath reduce the amount your skin absorbs. I like Niacinimide underneath, but if you don't want that making the squalane pill, you have to either wait 20-30 mins for it to absorb (tedious) or much better, dilute the niacinimide with a few drops of something (I use marine hyalauronics but water would probably be fine) which makes it spread and absorb more quickly so you can apply squalane immediately. Serum texture is important, some just don't work at all under oil, eg the Hyalauronic acid + B something which pills something rotten.
