theBalm Meet Matte Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Adoring

I had high hopes for this. I do like the color. It went on smooth but by the time it dried it was not appealing looking. My lips were very dry and looked older than they did before I put it on. Almost wrinkled. There wasn’t much feathering, at all which is a plus. After it dried, I put a gloss over it to hydrate my lips and give it some shine. It looked great with a gloss but that’s not the point of a long last mat lip is it. I did not leave it on long enough to know how long it would last through out the day because I didn’t like how it looked. The three pics I have included are with gloss, without gloss, and when I first put it on while it was wet.

I’m surprised at how much I like this, but not for reasons I expected to. It definitely doesn’t give me balm vibes, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing - it plumps without stinging (more of a minty freshness which I adore), it’s so incredibly pigmented but not over the top loud, and my lips feel really nice. It’s not a soft in your face hydrating balm, it’s much more subtle, but I like that because I can layer stuff on top like a gloss and have my lips feel fresh and protected. The color is a subtle coral color that gives a “fresh-faced gorgeous without really trying” look. If you like a fresh natural look you could leave as is or build on, this is an awesome choice. They are so pigmented but so lightweight you don't feel it! Not mention they are not dying at all! Its like liquid lip wizardry or something! The applicator is a small doe foot, it has a minty scent that fades away gradually. The lipsticks stay on for a really good time (4-6 hours) without drying my lips.I need to mention that the shades I’ve tried so far are Committed (a gorgeous nude) and Charming (in the photo) and both of them were quite pigmented in application. Products from theBalm seem to be hit or miss in my experience. Their lipsticks, I like. Their eyeshadow, never been too impressed. Their highlighters, holy grail stuff. BUT, I have to say that this one particular lipstick is amazing. The Meet Matte Hughes liquid lipstick in Loyal is my favorite red out of all of the lipsticks I own (which is somewhat of an extensive collection). The shade of red is absolutely perfect, it dries down to matte fabulously, and boy does it last! You could wear it through an entire 7-course meal and come out completely unscathed. I love this lipstick at the first sight. The packaging is very creative and unique. I love this lipstick because it lasts very long without making our lips dry. Moreover, it fades away evenly as well. I usually touch up after meals. Lastly, this red shade is very beautiful. You don't need to makeup too much when wearing it. Applying a little bit blush and you're ready to go out!

I'm 40, fair-skinned, with medium-sized lips (kind of a thinner upper lip) and I'm more of an ordinary lip balm wearer. I bought this in the color Committed and I'm in love. My husband loves it. My kids love it. This lipstick not only stays on all day, but it doesn't flake, or crack, or dry my lips out. It makes them look fuller and the color is perfect. It's just shade or two darker than my lip color and makes my whole face look put together when I'm not wearing any other makeup. I'm back to buy more :)

Great Matte Lipstick

To be hobest, I've never heard of this brand & decided to try it. It's actually a great Matte Lipstick while also providing "moisture." The colors are very pigmented and the color is long-lasting. Would recommended/buy again. The only thing I did not like is that it can become a bit "flaky" after eating, SO I wouldvrecommended moisterising before applying. I also added a translucent-matte powder on top of it which gave it a more "natural" apppearance and helped with flaking.

Stays put!

I love this liquid lipstick. It really does stay on for a long time wear and even stays put after eating and drinking. It might smear just a tap bit off a coffee lid but nothing big. Once you put it on and let it dry (set), your lips don't feel soft, but they don't feel rough or dry either. You can easily apply some lip balm or moisturizer if you'd like, but because I bought the matte finish, I don't and my lips are just fine.
