This seatpad can turn any hard surfaces into a decently padded one. I have used it to sit and even kneel on hard surfaces when needed and it packs away small enough to fit in most bag water bottle holders. Alternatively, you can fold it in half and pack in the laptop compartment or back pocket of your bag to use as a frame sheet for more padding against your back.

I finally gave in for what I saw as a luxury item on a hike. It was actually really nice to have when I arrived at the end of my day hike and the only sitting places were uneven pokey boulders. Now I get why these things exist! It was comfy and easy to fold up. Super light, in fact it blew away when I stood up due to slight breeze where I was so it seems to require supervision to stay put. Got it on sale and I couldn't pass it up.

While the seat is indeed comfortable, light, and packable... it is starting to show quite a bit of wear after only 2 weekend trips. Once with a picnic table, and once to sit on rocks while backpacking. The thing is pretty darn beat up after such little use, I'm concerned if it'll even last a year, which is sad considering the price. Also, the built-in bungee cord digs into the foam quite a bit, and the impression from it does not seem to ever go away.While I didn't expect this thing to be bomb proof, for it's price I expected more than I'm getting considering you can get a generic brand one for a quarter of the cost.
