We have 5 Ticket to ride variants and this one seems to come out the most.We like the variation of using tolls and money first and then possibly getting paid back by others. It has a good 2-player variation using a dummy player that works well. It's a bit quicker than the big versions and better for 2-players.

Ticket To Ride: Netherlands changes up the traditional formula by adding extra costs to each route which must be payed for with tokens. The added route cost considerations and smaller, tighter map make for a more intense game.Well worth the purchase if you're looking for a little extra zing in your Ticket to Ride.

We have owned "Ticket to Ride - USA" and the "1910" Expansion set for several years and have enjoyed them immensely, but when I bought my wife "Ticket to Ride - Nederland" for Christmas this year, my entire family agreed this version is much more exciting and intense than the other two we own - I wish we had bought it sooner. We definitely recommend it to anyone who has the original USA version.

Ticket to Ride is a great easy game to play and learn. This is a nice variant although we have found it to be the best with three or four players. The tolls have added an interesting change to the game. It makes stops people from hoarding cards to go for big routes and lay down a bunch of cards all at once. The one thing I would complain about is the names of all the cities are written in cursive and some people had trouble reading them. We also had trouble finding the cities on the map guess we have to work on our geography of the Netherlands. That said it is fun to play and gives us some variety and highly recommend it.
Well made and beautiful map! The cities are written in script that is hard to read, so I covered them up with easier to read print. The game is harder than regular Ticket to Ride, and usually the winner wins by many more points than the opponents! So, if you like that challenge where someone can blow another person out of the water, you will like the game!
If you've played other Ticket to Ride (TtR) games, this is a good, fun variant on it. You will need either TtR 1910, or TtR Europe train cards, train cars, scoring markers to play TtR Nederland.
There are two aspects to this game compared to other version of TtR. Firstly, the tickets are very high value; for even simple connections requiring 5 or 6 trains, 13 or 14 points were available, which is vastly over-weighted compared to in the original. Secondly, there is an additional resource of money which is required to build connections, with bonus points for those who conserve money the best.I have only played this twice so far, and on both occasions the biggest impact was from the much higher value tickets, with the winner being the person who happened to take tickets with routes that complemented each other nicely. This made it feel a little too random to me, but it may be that strategies have not yet adapted to the changes and that the end result will ... MoreThere are two aspects to this game compared to other version of TtR. This made it feel a little too random to me, but it may be that strategies have not yet adapted to the changes and that the end result will actually be to encourage more ticket taking. The money for 'bridge tolls' aspect was completely ignored by those who ended up winning so didn't seem that effective. So as a game, I would say "ok" and I will definitely be looking to play again now that I have seen how games pan out on this board. However, the names of the cities are virtually unreadable on the board - choosing such a flowery font with names from a relatively rare language (Dutch) seems like a mistake. Being able to read the names on the tickets only partially makes up for this.
The Ticket to Ride games are the best, this one beware it is an extension pack and required you to have the Europe or original Ticket to Ride game. Great quality, the best ever service, arrived straight away. Thank you
TtR Nederland is a fun, unique twist on Ticket to Ride. You really need to plan a bit more because you have to pay tolls on the routes you take.
great expansion pack to use in conjunction with other game on this series hours of fun
