Been struggling with poor wifi in my home office for months. I tried a repeater but results were not much better. Wanted to try a power line adapter but they were too expensive until I found this little set on Mightyape. This price I could afford, so I ordered it and it arrived just three days later, which is pretty impressive considering I live in a little rural community in the deep south. I connected the system up and BAM! just like that I have perfect, ethernet broadband in my home office. I have worked with computers since before there was an internet, and I have never had anything just hook up and go like this. A truly impressive and delightful purchase and I am thrilled with it.

Purchased the TP link AV-600 with a little bit of apprehension that it would not work. I wanted to connect my older Foxtel cable box to the internet so i watch on demand programs. As i did not have an internet point in the theater room and the box does not have WiFi, i thought this might be a simple and cheap option. When it arrived it was as easy as ABC !! Plugged the units in and paired them up. Then i connected the supplied Ethernet lead to the router, then went to the theater room and connected the other supplied Ethernet lead to the Foxtel box. Turned on Foxtel and hey presto internet connection made, and downloaded a 1hr program in roughly 3 minutes. I was amazed! GOOD POINTS; Inexpensive. Very easy to set up. Discreet piece of equipment. Supplied cables are plenty long enough. Seems to work fine even tho instructions say they both have to be plugged into same electrical circuit (I live in a new build home if it makes any difference) You add more TP-Links to the circuit if you need to. NOT SO GOOD POINTS; Even tho its small its still a squeeze to get the TP link in and another plug into the double power point. You do lose a power point with it plugged in. There are other products that have a socket on them but you pay more. Summary. The TP-Link AV600 is a great bit of kit and it did exactly what i wanted, a cheap and easy way of getting a good internet connection into another room without having to pay someone to run cables through my house and install internet points. Highly recommend.

I bought this product after becoming frustrated with the constant slow buffering that I encountered while watching NetFlix via WiFi. Before I became aware of this product, I tried to install an ethernet connection the "old fashioned" way by spending a sweaty hour in my roof cavity rolling out a 30m ethernet cable from the rear of my house to the front of my house while carefully treading on the roof timbers. When I realised that I could not physically get into the cramped space to drill a hole into the timber cover to feed the ethernet cable down the wall cavity, I thought there must be an easier way to install an ethernet system without having to remove roof tiles! After a few YouTube searches, I came across this product which essentially uses your home's existing ... MoreI bought this product after becoming frustrated with the constant slow buffering that I encountered while watching NetFlix via WiFi. The best things about this product are the ease of setting it up (literally took me less than a minute), price (vs installing an "old fashioned" ethernet connection), and the vastly superior connection speed vs WiFi. I would highly recommend this product.

I wasn't too sure on the data over powerline thing, but since I was having issues with wireless connection to the other room, I thought I would give it a go..Damn, did it work alright, maybe not as fast as a wired connection but its alot faster then wireless and more stable.Very easy to setup too, put both units into a power socket, then push the "pair" button and part one is done. You can use a power strip/board to "pair" the two units but when the time comes to move data, it is best to have both units plugged into the wall socket (no strip/board).Now move one of the units to the device you want to LAN, plug everything in.AND THATS IT !!
I had purchased a Netgear PL kit from Staples and had spent a little over $100 and wanted to save some cash and have had pretty good luck in the past with TPLink products. I currently own and use a TPLink 48 port switch in my home along with a TPLink router and a couple USB 802.11n adapters which all work to satisfaction. I did my research and it appeared via the reviews that this 411 Kit would fit the bill nicely to be streaming 1080p content from my media server in the basement. I haven't had the time yet to deal with fishing cat6 cable to the second floor hence the need for a powerline solution as I have not had much luck with wifi based 1080p streaming in my home. The Netgear solution which was also rated as a 500mb adapter kit streamed both 720 and 1080 streams ... MoreI had purchased a Netgear PL kit from Staples and had spent a little over $100 and wanted to save some cash and have had pretty good luck in the past with TPLink products. The Netgear solution which was also rated as a 500mb adapter kit streamed both 720 and 1080 streams without issue to 3 difference devices from 3 different hardware vendors and software vendors flawlessly. I had noticed that especially with this 411 Kit once the bitrate of the source media rises above roughly 6000kb/sec I would experience issues. This is unacceptable since 98% of my content is at least 12000kb/sec. If the course material for example was a true BD rip the audio would cripple the link within the first 30 seconds, yet once again the Netgear item with VERY similar specs didn't. I am not sure what the deal is, but I was also on business travel during my return period so I wasn't able to establish and ship back my RMA in time so I am stuck with this kit and will most likely just sell it. If you are not looking to stream HD content and just need it for streaming music, general internet access, etc. then it could be a very solid product for you. Perhaps I will install it in my garage and use it for my Pandora streaming or the ocassional internet surfing for automotive products.
Fantastic product, does as it says. I had very poor wireless internet on the far side of the house and it wasn't possible to shift the router without getting an electrician out (few ports). Wireless was very intermittent and unreliable, and for someone who likes to play online occasionally it can be very frustrating! The quick test I did on the PS3 was very successful, getting just under 10mbs, far greater than was I was getting before (where I would get disconnected all the time). The upload time was also quite reasonable. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test the ping time, but first impressions, I would say it is very low - so perfect for gaming.Just a quick note on shipping, which was also outstanding. Good Points: Much smaller unit (no wider than a standard plug) than the previous powerline adapters I had.Connects up straight away across the house mains ring with no apparent problems.Good value for money and newbie friendly way to set up a network without faffing about with Wifi etc.Improvement Points: If you are only connecting two points in a house then I would recommend the 1Gbps port version of this instead. There is no point having up to 500Mbps overall bandwidth if there are only two points in the network as these devices only have a 10/100Mbps ether connection. The software reports that the network will support up to 104Mbps (so well shy of the 500) but the throughput tests for the device to the internet is only getting me 60Mbps (Broadband is ... MoreGood Points: Much smaller unit (no wider than a standard plug) than the previous powerline adapters I had.Connects up straight away across the house mains ring with no apparent problems.Good value for money and newbie friendly way to set up a network without faffing about with Wifi etc.Improvement Points: If you are only connecting two points in a house then I would recommend the 1Gbps port version of this instead. The router is getting 110Mbps+ when running similar tests.Don't plug this into a surge protection power strip. I tested with one and got 10Mbps, when on a non-surge protected strip got 45Mbps, when on a two-way adapter plugged into the socket it gives the 60Mbps. YMMV.I will be swapping out these for a hardwired 1Gbps Cat6 line, but will do ok as a stop-gap until then.
I must admit, I was very hesitent on trying powerline adapters for the first time. Been running a 35' cables from my bedroom to office and into the other bedroom for my slingbox. I finally broke down when I purchased a Logitech Revue for my living roomn TV and the WiFi just wasn't ideal. Very weak signal and sometimes none at all. I am very happy I made this decision though. When I see the negative reviewes for Powerline, in general, there must be other factors involved that do not effect me because these units are AMAZING. Did speed test via direct connection to modem on my laptop prior to hooking everything up. Test was at my Time Warner rated cable internet speed of 20 Mbps, as it should be. I connected and plugged in both units and made a connection to my laptop ... MoreI must admit, I was very hesitent on trying powerline adapters for the first time. Did speed test via direct connection to modem on my laptop prior to hooking everything up. Test was at my Time Warner rated cable internet speed of 20 Mbps, as it should be. I connected and plugged in both units and made a connection to my laptop to again test speed. The units immediately recognized eachother and I had an immediate connection. Speed test came back at 20 Mbps at a distance of about 30'. No signal loss whatsoever. I then hit the pair button on the starting point unit (Modem Connection) for one second and proceeded to do the same at end unit (Laptop). The units indicated, via the front lights, that the pair was made and I was now secure (Must push pair buttons within 2 minutes of eachother). Simple as that. Connection was made to my Revue and I was streaming Netflix without a hiccup. I am one of the lucky ones that got working units, along with the electrical grid capability to use them. If they last for more than a month, I will pick up another two more sets and ditch the 35' cables to the PC and Slingbox. I definitely recommend these units, though I cannot guarantee you will also be one of the lucky ones.
The unit provides really fast speeds. One thing buyers really need to consider is that outlets might be on a different circuit than the router and while the connection will reach speeds are affected. For example, I get 20mbps from my bedroom and 80mbps in the hallway. At first I though I had a faulty product because my wifi is 30mbps, so I was expecting better speeds than what I saw.I tried different outlets and found that the speed does vary from room to room depending on the wiring in the house. Thankfully the outlet with 80mbps is fairly close to my room, at least much closer than where the router is.The product itself does its job awesomely! and moving from outlet to outlet the connection gets reestablished very quick. I would recommend getting the model ... MoreThe unit provides really fast speeds.
