TP-Link TL-SG105-M2 5-Port 2.5g Desktop Switch

The setup was pretty simple since this is an unmanaged switch. Plug the ethernet for uplink and the devices and 2.5 Gbe was instantly recognized. The lowest price for this model was at PBTech.

Works without issue as expected. 2.5gbit speed in a cost-effective package. Would have been nice to have more ports, but good value in comparison to other offerings. Went TP-Link to match an existing 24port giga-ethernet managed switch.

Great economical option

The switch is great, and performs better than the atypical gigabit switch. I wish it was a little more affordable though.

Great speeds and reliable

I bought this couple of months ago to connect my WiFi satellites The setup was quick just needed to bounce other devices to register 2.5Gbps speeds. Overall very satisfied.

So far working great

I am just using this with some $20 RTL8125 based cards and it's working as expected for transferring video files. Keep in mind if your not getting good speeds this may be faster than your hard drive, unless your using SSD's, an HDD will be a limiting factor.

Switch

I am still impressed with my TP-Link switch and router. Neither are cantankerous or unreliable. They just work as advertised. Both the router and switch are in hotter environments. My several name brand, more expensive gamer high speed router and switches all seems to fade in the heat, eventually dying in 2 or less years. Way too expensive for marginable reliability and inconsistent speed. It appears with my TP-Link I may not have to buy a new ones soon. My needs are pretty simple. I don't need to be the fastest game in town, just transfer large files reliably and keep working. These continues to be all I could ask for.

Works as advertised

Getting wired speeds of 1.2-1.4 gbps on my Xfinity package that is supposed to be up to 1.2 gbps. This switch works as advertised.

Yes it's faster than Gigabit, but still, a huge premium for what is is, an unmanaged switch.

Good product, but should be cheaper.
