Turtlebeach has been a reliable headset in the past for me, I had used the Stealth 420X for quite some time. I was looking at something comparable and these happen to be a few generations newer in the same line. The headset itself is comfortable, you got a nice plush foam pad that side against your head, the headphones fit around the ear, the glasses friendly feature is pretty cool and adjustable depending on the thickness of the arm on your glasses. Being that this headset is universal is awesome, Xbox has it's on little position on the USB stick, everything else you would use USB mode to communicate wirelessly. Being that this headset is universal is awesome, Xbox has it's on little position on the USB stick, everything else you would use USB mode to communicate wirelessly. I do pair this to my phone so I can easily listen to music while I play some games. The sound itself is really good on the headset, I usually play without the superhuman hearing, most of my online play is in Apex at the moment, being that it's currently Storm Point the water tends to get picked up quite a bit if in proximity, but you do hear things louder that is at a distance. Once the map rotation starts next week I will have to give it a go. But overall I can't complain about the sound of this headset, I am typically happy with the Turtle Beach audio quality and sure other may give more specifics, but I do like it on Bass and Treble Boost depending on the game I am playing. You can easily toggle the headset mode button and wheel in the app to your personal preference. I do keep Superhuman hearing on my Mode button (To continue trying it out) and have my wheel for Chat volume. When checking for updates on your computer, you will plug the USB adapter into your PC and plug the headset in using a USB-A to USB-C cable. My headset was up to date. The one gripe I have at the moment is that the Mic is really sensitive at this time, even with the Mic Noise Gate on. I've had it where friends I have been playing with sound like my kids in the kitchen, while I am in the living room, sound like they're wearing the headset (that's how clear they were). I hope with a future update Turtle Beach adjusts the Mic to stop this in the future, I've seen posts that a previous headset in the same line had a similar issue and that they updated it to fix it, so likely just a matter of time. Overall this is a great sounding, multi-platform headset that has multiple deatils aimed for comfort for long gaming sessions, I hope in time they patch it to fix the mic sensativity and then it will earn that last star from me!

After falling in love with the previous version of the Stealth 700 I absolutely had to step it up to the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max and they absolutely do not disappoint. I have received literally dozens of compliments from other gamers regarding the superior audio quality of the microphone - which is pretty much the highest praise you can receive. And the directional audio is superb - truly giving me a good advantage during first person shooters. I ordered the Midnight Blue and Rose Gold version, but ended up with the standard black - even though the standard style is less impressive - it still works incredibly well for extended gaming sessions. I ordered the Midnight Blue and Rose Gold version, but ended up with the standard black - even though the standard style is less impressive - it still works incredibly well for extended gaming sessions. Most importantly (for me), the headset is extremely comfortable (even after several hours of continuous use). The earcups are lined with cooling gel that feature cutouts for the arms of my glasses. The headset doesn’t have active noise cancellation, but the foam does a good job at reducing just enough ambient noise - it is a good balance of limiting outside noise while letting enough sound in so that you can still be reasonably aware of your surroundings. Initially I wished that the microphone was more adjustable, but it stays out of the way while also picking up stellar quality vocals. The microphone is not removable, but it folds out of the way quickly and provides audio cues to clearly indicate when it has been muted. The Headset is extremely convenient as it can be paired with two devices simultaneously - making it easy to answer phone calls while in the middle of a game, or allowing the user to watch YouTube on your phone while you wait for matchmaking to load. The audio quality, the comfort, the construction, and the features are all great for the price of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. And because Turtle Beach included the PC adapter this time around, I can easily recommend this headset to both console and PC gamers. Pros: + Connects to Consoles & PC without the need for a docking station. + Windows PC adapter is included. + Audibly announces battery level when powering up. + Pairs with two devices simultaneously. + Microphone quickly mutes by folding out of the way. + Audible feedback plays to inform the user that the microphone has truly muted. + Works great for taking phone calls, even in the middle of gaming. + Quality construction which feels solid and well built. + Earcups are made with cooling gel and extremely soft & moldable foam. + Earcups have cutouts to make room for the arms of glasses which greatly improves comfort. + Headband is lined with soft foam that is comfortable and easy to clean. + Earcups pivot outwards so the headphones lie flat. + Charges via USB C. + Headband adjusts smoothly and has firm yet gentle pressure. + Headband is reinforced with metal. + Battery lasts well over 25 hours (supposedly 40, but I typically charge around the 25 hour mark). + Uses physical buttons (instead of touch buttons) + Physical buttons can answer calls, pause, change track, and trigger phone’s virtual assistant CONS: - Microphone is not adjustable - Mic Monitoring is not easily adjustable without the Turtle Beach App - Chat & Game Volumes are not able to be adjusted independently without the Turtle Beach App - No Active Noise Cancelation - No 3.5 mm input - Ear cup opening is small / tight - Ear cup foam is is not easily removable (not held in place by magnets like many other gaming headsets) - Ear cups do not muffle out much ambient noise - Volume Knobs do not work with cell phones - Headset does not fold up (for travel) - No travel bag or case included - Turtle Beach does not have a PC version of the Mobile App. The Turtle Beach PC Software can update device firmware, but it cannot adjust any of the controls featured in the Mobile App.

The last time I used a set of Turtle Beach headphones was probably 2011 and after using the 700s Turtle Beach is well positioned against the competition. The headset feels well made which back in the day would have been a criticism I had for my originals. The ear cups are large and comfortable and the soft headband provides a very comfortable fit for extended gaming sessions. Usb mode is used for everything other than an Xbox. Having Bluetooth built in gives it the ability to be used with devices such as phones or tablets. Two big features though for this headset is the app and the separate chat and game volume controls. The separate game and chat volume controls is something I completely forgot Turtle Beach offered, none of the other brand of gaming headsets I have offer that. The real star though is the app, it allows you to customize the headphones on the fly while you’re using them connected to you’re console or other device. While gaming on my PS5 I decided to download the app on my iPhone and to my surprise I was able to connect to the headset and change and customize all of the controls for the headset. There was no setup process either, the app automatically detected and connected to the headphones. The app shows you everything about the headphones including the battery life. Turtle beach claims 40 hours and that’s not hard to believe as after 3 hours of use the app still showed 100% battery life. The 700s offer a lot for the money, separate game and chat volume, excellent battery life and a top notch app to control it all.

There are a lot of good things to say about the Stealth 700 Gen2 Max headphones from Turtle Beach. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the size: these are not small headphones. They are definitely a premium product meant for people who are serious about their use. The headset appeared to be constructed of high-grade materials with tight tolerances. That is, until I tried them on for the first time (without any sound); that's when it became very clear that I had underestimated the quality of the device that was gently but firmly hugging my noggin. After taking them off and paying closer attention, I could see the excellent attention to the detail that makes this headset perfect for the target audience. As far as durability, there are a lot of noticeable features. There are bulky rotating joints where the earmuffs connect to the headband and separate joints on the earmuffs themselves for splaying in/out. A roughly one inch wide steel band, a channel tangent to that for wiring, and a plastic surround all make the headband well supported. Any plastics used in the headset are high-grade, not thin cheap stuff. Some of it has an almost rubberized feel to it, other pieces have a nice matte finish. Depending on the level of anger, a "throw all your stuff around" rage-quit is not an automatic death sentence for this device. For comfort, much attention was paid to those marathon-session type gamers. Generous padding on the underside of the headband and in the earmuffs will stay comfortable for quite a while. The padding that touches the side of your head and around your ears is a spandex-like breathable material, which should prolong the amount of time before you succumb to the dreaded sweaty-ear rage. I mean, for Pete's sake, the instructions even include how to adjust their trademarked glasses relief system, which was no small engineering feat. It really does seem like they thought of every feature a gamer could want when it comes to comfort. When it comes to sound, they are good, above average. These aren't designed for audiophiles though: they are meant for gamers. As such, there are specific features that gamers will appreciate to help elevate their game, like adaptive sound levels for particular game events (think hearing footsteps amplified in a first person pvp shooter). I haven't tested these features yet, but they are definitely intriguing for the right scenario. I also appreciate the "flip mic up to mute, down to unmute" feature, the ability to accept a call via bluetooth, and other features that put this headset over the top. Overall, they meet or exceed features you would want in a set of headphones alone, but they surpass anything I've ever had in a gaming headset though, indicative of the premium nature of this product. For any serious gamer that has the budget, I would definitely recommend.

The frame is pretty much all plastic with only a couple of metal parts, and has a soft matte finish that doesn't pick up much in the way of fingerprints. There are a few metal parts in the headband, but all the other accents are painted on. The earcups are thick and held on with friction-fit pins and are designed with an eye towards user serviceability, so if one happens to get damaged fitting a replacement should only require a few minutes time and the appropriate spare part. Weight is significant - more than you'd typically expect from a nearly all plastic headset to be honest - but is carried well by the adjustable headband. And there's plenty of room built in as well - it fit my XXL-sized head with plenty of adjustment to spare. There's even a feature designed to let you create a little channel for glasses to pass through along the side of your head, accomplished by pulling off the earcups and tightening a little rubber band that's wrapped around the cushion beneath the cover. It's a fine idea, but I'll admit that when I tried it the channel it created was a little too high to actually accomplish much in the way of strain relief. Things improve somewhat when moving on to core functionality though. The previous model of Stealth boasted a very rich audio experience with a reasonably good surround sound effect when paired with the right hardware, and this new model lives up to the example set by its predecessor. It's got two basic modes for gaming that can influence the sound. "Superhuman hearing" (which is on by default) is tuned to accentuate ambient sound effects typically used in gaming (footsteps, gunshots, etc) to relay a character's position relative to you. Listening to music or audio from a video with this mode on can be a little weird, as random bits of audio suddenly make themselves a lot more well known, but it's certainly not a bad experience. And if you want to use a more straightforward equalizer setting you can simply hit the mode switch to switch to the default setting, which offers much more balanced (if somewhat bass-heavy) audio. Quality is very good with both the dongle and Bluetooth. The mic is good as well, though I'll admit that I found myself a little less impressed with it compared to the quality of the playback. I think the main reason isn't the quality of the mic being used, as it sounded fine when I just had it sitting on my desk, but rather the fact that it does have somewhat limited adjustability when you're wearing it. On device controls include a local volume wheel (which does not provide software volume control in windows, in case you were wondering) and a second wheel that you can remap in software, a mode switch, and a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button. It also includes a feature that some may find quite handy: the ability to accept a signal from both the receiver and a Bluetooth device simultaneously. I'll admit that I've yet to find a very compelling use case for this, particularly as balancing the volume of the two sources is quite tricky, but if you ever wanted to have a Zoom meeting with a custom soundtrack this is the device for you. Mapping custom controls and fine-tuning the equalizer settings can all be accomplished via a mobile app that works over the Bluetooth connection, another nice touch albeit one most will probably use just once before forgetting about it entirely. There are a few small areas for improvement going forward. The Bluetooth pairing process and the documentation around it isn't great, for example. According to the instructions you simply have to hold the Bluetooth button down until it goes into pairing mode, but this won't actually do anything but turn the Bluetooth receiver off. In fact you have to turn Bluetooth on, hold the button down for a few more seconds to turn it on again, and keep holding it until you get the pairing notification. The fact that the volume wheel on the back of the headset isn't software enabled makes it something of a rarity in modern wireless peripherals as well, and can potentially lead to some annoyance if it's been accidentally turned down too much before you start. Despite this, I still find it a lot easier to recommend this improved version of the Stealth 700.
I cant even count the number of wireless headphones I've now owned over the years, but there are very few that really stand out. For some reason or another, each set falls short in one way or another, but excels in other ways. For good or ill, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX is another such contender. To start, the packaging is about what you'd expect, the headphones are inside a box, which is inside a sleave as most gaming peripherals are sold these days (especially those intended to be used with a gaming system, I suppose it stays with the aesthetics of every other peripheral sold for those systems). So it's not necessarily bad, but it also doesn't stand out either. Once extracted from the box the first thing I noticed was just how plush the earcup pads are. So it's not necessarily bad, but it also doesn't stand out either. Once extracted from the box the first thing I noticed was just how plush the earcup pads are. I mean wow. . I've had significantly more expensive headphones that I thought felt great at the time, but these surpassed those by miles. My head was in heaven simply by being nestled between these earcup pads, and we haven't even made it to the sound yet. My headset was the blue color, which I love, it's uncommon for headsets to be anything aside from black or an attempt at mirroring either playstation white or XBox green As for the mic, I appreciate that it's attached and can be folded out of the way without making you look like you have a weird alien antenna on your head. The headphones themselves are rechargeable via USB-C (cable included) and seem to function just fine when charging which is nice. I do wish at this price point that they had included a cradle, but I guess one cant have everything. There are a few different controls on the headset itself, from volume, to bluetooth, to power, there's even a remappable scroll wheel and a mode button that can change the mode or be remapped as well. Interesting for a headset, and potentially useful to streamers for various reasons. Connectivity is extremely straightforward. I've connected these to both my PC and my XBox, but we'll talk PC first. The USB dongle has a switch on it where you need to select between PC or XBox depending on your usage, and it's important that you do this, because the sound quality is affected by what each system thinks is connected to it, because it actually will connect and install on a PC with the XBox setting selected, but it sounds awful, flipping it over to PC cleared up that issue entirely. I really didn't feel the need to adjust much in the way of the settings, as out of the box the sound was full and vibrant, really quite good. Flipping that switch and connecting it to my XBox was equally as straightforward and sounded just as good, but again it's important to flip that switch. I've played games, played music, played movies, everything through this headset and I've been really impressed by them, but Turtle Beach is known for audio, so that really doesn't surprise me. The one thing I was not super happy with was the range. With the dongle plugged into the back of my PC (which sits on the floor) I received interference even just sitting at my desk about 2 feet from it. I moved the dongle to the top USB and that cleared it up, but honestly I dont feel like this should be a thing, I dont know what would cause it to be such a short range as I've never experienced anything like this on other headphones. All in all though, they are really a great experience, super comfortable and great sound, and of course the freedom of wireless, provided you dont sit too far away from the source. I easily recommend these to anyone
Turtle beach is at it again, this time with a MAX version of their popular Stealth 700 series headset. This headset is a little different from the other 700 series options, so let’s dive in and see what has changed and more importantly, how it performs. The Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX comes in two colors - a typical black with silver accents, and exclusive to this model, a deep blue and copper option. I have the blue and copper, and it looks classy and different from a typical gaming headset. Overall, the style of the headsets is understated and don’t scream gamer, which is fine by me. I like the trend away from some of the overmolded RGB everything madness that some gaming accessories were doing, this one is very classy looking with clean lines. I like the trend away from some of the overmolded RGB everything madness that some gaming accessories were doing, this one is very classy looking with clean lines. It also features a flip up to mute or down to talk mic, which keeps it clean when you are just playing a single player game or listening to music. The headset supports Bluetooth, and with your phone you can get granular control of the settings for the headset, change what the buttons and one of the dials do, etc. It can also take calls or you can use a chat app on your phone while in a game for those who prefer third party chat apps. One interesting note - this headset has no analog input. The only port is the USB-C for charging or firmware updates on a PC, so you can’t use it with a device that needs an analog port. This could be a drawback for on the go switch players, as you’ll need to pair the headset using Bluetooth, which can be a little laggy for audio, instead of being able to use a hard wire. For other features, the headset supports mic monitoring so it doesn’t sound like you are shouting into a tunnel, and you can customize sound options with the app when paired to your phone. It has a huge battery life - Turtle beach claims 40+ hours between charges. This headset will ONLY pair to Bluetooth and its USB dongle. It does not have direct connectivity to an Xbox like previous 700 series headsets did, you need to switch the dongle to Xbox mode and plug it into a USB port on your Xbox. In this mode, it worked perfectly with my Series X, and in standard USB mode it works well on PC, Switch, or Playstation. While some may see that as a drawback, I actually prefer the dongle instead of dealing with pairing to an Xbox wirelessly - that caused some issues with previous generation headsets as Microsoft would update something, or Turtle Beach might, and it would cause some incompatibly problems. With the dongle it just pairs up and goes. It also will glow red when you are on mute or green when off mute, so you can easily tell what mode you are in when gaming. To update the headset, you plug it into your PC via USB along with the dongle and use the Turtle Beach app to update both parts. As of this review, there wasn’t an update available, but check when you get the headset to see if there are updates that may fix bugs. For performance, the headset did very well. The earcups are incredibly comfortable, along with the padding on the headband. I will say there is some pretty decent clamp force on this headset, which is somewhat typical of wireless sets as they weigh more with the batteries and electronics. I didn’t find it uncomfortable though as the earcups are deep enough to keep the pressure on your head from being too much. Audio is clear with decent but not overblown bass, and spatial audio modes work well. Wireless audio was crackle free with no noticeable latency. The mic is omnidirectional and can pick up some background noise. With the flip to mute it’s easy enough to mute, but some headsets do have better mics. The headset also doesn’t have active noise cancellation, which isn’t something I really need when gaming, but if that is an important feature for you it’s worth noting. Overall, this is a feature packed heasdset with good audio, incredible battery life, clean style at a price point that isn’t crazy. The multiplatform compatibility in a single package is great. I would recommend it for someone who is looking for a huge amount of battery life and compatibility with multiple gaming systems.
I did not expect what I received when the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX headphones were delivered. I already have last year’s Stealth 600 series headphones and these are a huge step in sound quality to the point I cannot express enough, buy these over the 600s if you cannot afford the 700s. I chose the Cobalt Blue and with the gold accents, these look amazing in every way and look absolutely amazing Live on stream while sounding better than my 600s 10-fold while either SIM racing or playing FPS games online. The fit and finish of the Stealth 700 series headphones are what you can and should expect from Turtle Beach. The fit and finish of the Stealth 700 series headphones are what you can and should expect from Turtle Beach. The massive 50 mm drivers are kept a perfect distance away from your ears with the comfortable and large "over the ear" pads while allowing for air flow keeping your ears and head cool. The head strap is a true winner as the metal band, in gold, stretches from ear to ear while a piece of plastic runs underneath to help guide the earmuffs smoothly when setting them up for your head. The head strap pad reaches from almost ear to ear making the comfort that much more enjoyable over long periods of use. For the sound, here comes the massive 50mm drivers with a 20hz minimum to 20khz maximum sound frequency range, making for an absolute amazing sound emersion and experience every time you put them on. For Music listening through your PC, Phone or Xbox, music sounds almost as good as my $650 studio headphones through Bluetooth, only noticing a tad compression on some midrange sounds and bass under 35hz. The studio headphones being wired though will always sound perfect but for a BT connection headphone, Turtle Beach's sound engineers did a top-quality job with how great these sound for a $200 set of headphones. Compared to my Turtle Beach 600s though, the 700s shine in sound performance via Bluetooth to the point I can say every red cent you have laying under the couch or under your car seat should go into buying the 700 Series headphones. To start, I went to my PC and loaded up my SIM rig settings and the sound while playing SIM Racing games are simply amazing, hearing every rev, every shift and tire noise the way it should when sitting in my SIM rig. Assetto Corsa and Race Room have some of the most amazing sounds in their SIM games and the 700 Gen 2 Max headphones will make you a better driver because how much more detailed the sound is especially when a car is behind you and Dolby is turned on. Then you have FPS games like Warzone or Fornite, my two go to games and besides COD already having bad footstep sounds, these help a ton with the faint footsteps but in Fortnite, the 700s are amazing in every aspect. The sound of the guns firing or even changing mags is much more defined and clearer in the 700s over the 600 series. Watching YouTube or listening to YT Music on my Samsung S21 Ultra, sound is once again amazing and great for when going for a walk or jog, these stay on your head and do not shift around. Next up, the Xbox One X worked perfectly once the adapter was plugged in and the headphones setup. Sound is just as good as the PC, no better, no worse, it is what I expected after trying the PC first. The microphone is one of my key favorite features of the Turtle Beach headphones like the 700 Max or my 600s, the clarity is great according to my stream but the easy and quick flip up, it is off and a flip down and boom, back on. I know most streamers use devices like pedals or Stream Decks to mute their microphone and many like wired over Bluetooth but I cannot go back to buttons for muting, Turtle Beach has spoiled me rotten with the Microphone the past 2 years. Also, before you wonder or ask yourself, the time delay is nothing when using the included adapter and not the built in Bluetooth, the adapter is much faster and better connection, especially through a USB 3.0 or higher port. I have to point out the one BIG positive, even though it has a negative, the battery! The 40 hours of time is legit as can be at 75% or lower volume. Before I posted this review, I wanted to truly test the battery instead of worrying about getting my review up before others. I did one full charge and wore them for 3 eight hour shifts of work and 15.1 hours of streaming at 75% volume or lower before they died, and yes, I actually kept track. Now, I only lasted 31.2 hours (2 eight-hour shifts, 2.7 hours of exercise, and 12.5 hours of streaming) total when running them at 100% volume but guess what, my ears loved every second of max volume so the 9-ish hours less means nothing when they sound this good, I do not use them while sleeping. The headphones seem to charge quickly through a 5-watt charger and takes about 3 times the amount through the USB port of the computer. And lastly, I bring up the packaging. Turtle Beach always kills it with their packaging, everything is always protected and has its place, not one loose piece to break in transit. When you open that lid up and see the most gorgeous set of Cobalt Blue and Gold headphones, that makes Iron Man look outdated, it is a great day and makes the dopamine start pumping. Great Job Turtle Beach! I hope to continue using your products for years to come, you have never disappointed me with any of your products I have every purchased or reviewed.
When I was younger Turtle Beach headphones were what I always gravitated to, but in recent years I had moved more towards Rig and then Astro`s A50 headphones to which after using this pair of headphones from Turtle Beach I do believe they may have taken the crown back as the best headphones on the market. Firstly, out of the box the build quality was great as I could appreciate the all black aesthetic as they looked much more refined than the typical bold Turtle Beach colors. Initially I was disappointed with the all plastic look, but the headphones have some heft to them with the 50mm drivers so the plastic allowed them to not weigh down my head while gaming so I can appreciate the function aspect that comes with the plastic build material. Initially I was disappointed with the all plastic look, but the headphones have some heft to them with the 50mm drivers so the plastic allowed them to not weigh down my head while gaming so I can appreciate the function aspect that comes with the plastic build material. Also the metal within the headband was nice since this is one of the parts of the headset that always seems to give and break first. Next getting them paired with my Xbox was amazing as the simple USB dongle is great and provides a truly wireless experience without having to worry about a connected base. Then pairing them with my phone and PC via Bluetooth was just as easy along with the USB pairing for my PC as well. Upon putting the headset on it was a little tight initially compared to other headsets, but it is something I got used to rather quickly. Some headsets go overboard with the comfort and result in my ears getting too warm, but I did not have that issue with these as I assume the cooling-gel within the earcups assisted with this. One interesting feature was also the ability to modify the earcups if you have glasses as I am sure many can appreciate this small detail. Over multiple hours long gaming sessions these headphones remained comfortable the entire time so there were definitely no issues when it came to overall comfort. Then the most important aspect of these headphones is the actual performance. I was anticipating a lesser experience than my A50s as they are $100 cheaper, but I was definitely surprised after using these for a couple weeks and going back and forth as the Turtle Beach headsets definitely punch above their weight in this department! I did not have any issues with lag and once I got my settings all configured I have had no issues since. The app is a nice added feature when it comes to customizing your experience, but the preset is more than acceptable in my opinion. The Superhuman Hearing is an interesting sound setting as everything appears to be boosted and I was unsure if there was much to it, but upon listening to music soundtracks I was able to distinguish where Turtle Beach was making adjustments and then going back and playing more FPS games I was able to begin to notice the difference and how beneficial it actually was. The mic quality was right on par with what you would expect as everyone I played with said I came across crystal clear and the ability for the mic to fold right in flush with the headset is a nice feature along with the noise when muted and unmuted. The one aspect I did especially like was the ease of use and the number of buttons/dials on the headset as many times manufacturers just go completely too far with clickable panels, knobs, dials, and buttons whereas Turtle Beach has made it so simple with just a game/chat knob, volume knob, mode button, power button, and Bluetooth button to which the game/chat and mode button can be customized in the app though I kept mine as is with the mode button toggling the Superhuman Hearing mode. Also the feature of slightly raising the mode and Bluetooth buttons is a nice added feature in order to find the buttons quickly and distinguish between the power button. Then in regard to battery life let me tell you that the 40 hours nearly holds true and that it is definitely a long time that goes appreciated without have to charge every couple play sessions and even then the fast charging of 8 hours of gameplay in 15 minutes of charging is a great feature for when my headset did die on me in one of my play sessions. Overall, there really is nothing to poke holes in with this headset as the ease of setup, comfort, and overall performance with the number of additional feature are all exceptional. At this price point on top of it I really think you can`t go wrong purchasing this headset regardless of what system(s) you are gaming on.
My wife purchased this for me as a replacement for my Sennheiser Game One headset that I had for a long time and was very pleased with, but recently broke to wear and tear. I was slightly skeptical at first, but the stylish look and nifty design of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max really won me over after opening it and reading the instruction pamphlet it comes with. Then since I wear glasses, I was very impressed upon discovering the really cool glasses relief system built into the ear pads. It wasn't until I actually went into a party with my friend and starting talking to them, that I noticed the ridiculous and major issue these headsets have... The mic is just WAY TOO SENSITIVE, it picks up every little sound from other rooms with the freaking doors closed! Although that is impressive, it is frustrating to hear my friends tell me that they can hear the laundry machine working from the other side of the house, making me constantly mute and unmute just to talk, trying to keep the background sounds from myself at a minimum as to not annoy my friends. Upon a quick google search, I discovered several Reddit pages addressing the same issue, and several comments on those posts that say to simply "download the new firmware". Upon following the instructions (at first having no luck because nowhere does it say to switch the Transmitter from 'Xbox -> USB' in order to get it to connect to the computer for the update) and eventually I found that this didn't help my case at all, the mic was still WAY TOO SENSITIVE. So I did more research, and I downloaded the Turtle Beach Audio Mobile Hub, and then turned on the Noise Gate, which seemed to do nothing at all... It seems there may be a solution for a Playstation user, as some Reddit responses stated that they fixed this by adjusting settings on their PS console. This is not an option for an Xbox user, the setting page for the Headphones only shows battery life and has zero options to adjust. Unfortunately, although I was beginning to really look at these headphones fondly, I will be forced to return them today and explore other options which is extremely disappointing. So... Dear Turtle Beach Employees, please note that this is just TOO GOOD of a microphone. It is simply TOO SENSITIVE and because your product is too amazing picks up every little sound from here to Alaska, I am giving this amazing product a 1 star. I really wish I could get onboard with Turtle Beach and keep this headset, but I cannot force my friends to be subjected to listening to my kids play in their room next to me (my kids are loud).
