(170 reviews)

The NanoStation M5 proves that efficiency can still be equated to affordability. Even if it’s low cost, its performance is luxurious. It has a maximum transmission speed of about 300 mbps, allowing it to serve multiple devices at one time. It follows the TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) protocol, which permits users to effectively schedule time slots in order to maximize the transmission and lower the latency period. It works at a frequency of 5.5GHz, a channel that is not prone to noise and interference. The integrated antenna connects via the 2x2 MIMO technology with a reach of 16dBi, so it’s ideal for complexes or buildings made up of different floors. Paired with QoS, you can easily prioritize bandwidth allocation. It runs on an Atheros 24KC MIPS chipset with a clock speed of 400 MHz. It has a 32MB RAM and 8MB NAND Flash. PoE Connection The NanoStation M5 is equipped with the “intelligent PoE.” This means you can reset it through its power supply, not directly in the unit. This is accomplished via the dual Ethernet port, one of which is dedicated for PoE use. In the process, you’re able to make the most of your electric power and save yourself the hassle of dealing a lot of wires. You can also add an IP camera, which permits you to keep track of your property, among others, through a web-based access. Various Connectivity Options The NanoStation M5 can be used as an access point, connecting to hundreds of devices all at the same time, or as a client, which can be connected to other networks through a bridge. The level of flexibility makes this a fantastic and convenient addition to your networking system. Quick Monitoring Process The NanoStation M5 is easy to monitor through its strength indicators following the integration of 2 pairs of LEDs. Compact CPE Design The NanoStation M features the CPE design that expanded the global Wireless ISP industry.

Purchased two antennas to connect a shed to the network. Work as expected. I can sign into the antennas over the network to make adjustments as necessary.

Excellent product and well priced

I bought these to provide an internet link to an out building, only 50m away but normal wifi wouldn't make it. I found a config guide on the internet and it was up and running in minutes. Stable link deliving 130mbs. I'd used higher end Ubiquiti stuff at work and good to know their quality extends down to the cheaper versions - recommended

Good Nano Deal
22 June 2021

Was actually shopping for the Nano Loco stations and found a pair of new regular NanoStations at a very good price. The price was the same as what I paid six years ago for a pair of Locos. Although physically larger and more powerful, they were the best deal available. Setup was the same and simple as with the Locos.

These units are not designed for inexperienced users. They require initial programming out of the box in order for proper operation. These units are not Plug & Play by any means. God Bless Texas

Nanostation M5 easy setup
8 December 2019

The setup was easy and having the ability to adjust the power is nice because my bridge is only a couple hundred feet apart. This is a great feature because one of the Ubiquiti forums had a guy that explained that too much power can burn out the receivers. He explained the "sweet spot" where the power should be set.\ for optimum performance. The tools to align the antennas and test the signal strength between the two units worked great.

Super easy, and solid

Bought 2 of these, pointed them at each other, and boom, magical networkness. Config took like 5 min, and I'd never done it before. About 3000' between them, maybe 20' off the ground, good line of sight The speed test utility and our own tests say we're getting about 150 Mbps total throughput. Which is exactly what it says we can do so yeah, pretty cool. Been installed 2 weeks now and not a hiccup in the link. I will be buying more. Edit: coming back to update. That link has been installed 8 months now and NEVER ONCE have I had to restart either radio. They have been turned off once or twice due to being moved, or a power outage, but still. I'm super happy with them. Since then I've used several other similar ubiquiti products and I've loved them all. Ubiquiti Nanostation M5 Awesome for Price
29 August 2014

I'm very happy that Newegg recently started carrying Ubiquiti products. Previously, I had to purchase them from other sources. They are awesome. I have used several similar units from other vendors and Ubiquiti is by far the most reliable for the money. The throughput advertised is pretty much the throughput you get and very consistent. Overall, very inexpensive. Ubiquiti got it right. I have installed 7 units in 3 bridges networks over that last few weeks. I am very happy. I will be purchasing more!! Hope this helps.
