UGears: Truck with Tanker (594pc)
A cool wooden model for self-assembly from the new UGEARS Trucks Collection. A cool wooden model for self-assembly from the new UGEARS Trucks Collection. Based on UGM-11 Truck, the Mechanical Tanker model has real TANKER with the unique opening mechanism which fits well for standard 0.33 L cans. Twist the knob on the tanker’s cap and unfold it in surprising way. This model is deliberately designed to have a raw, open look so even the casual observer could appreciate the marvels going on inside. The Mechanical Tanker is equipped with a four-cylinder rubber band engine and moves on its own forward in the “drive” mode and back on “reverse” transmission mode. Start the engine in ‘idle mode’ and look at four pistons which move realistically under the folding hood. Original gift idea, smart and engaging hobby, that brings together fathers and sons and takes grown-ups back to the childhood memories and the world of creation Ugears has created this 3D puzzle with great care and perfection. It is made of attractive, high quality wooden material. All parts are pre-cut into plywood boards and are easily removed for assembly.

A beautiful kit and will challenge the experienced builder. Be patient, do not get in a hurry, study the orientation. There were a few part number errors but visual study fixed the reference numbers. The rear wheels construction required my disassemble due to my neglect in attention but was fixed and chalked up to me! I highly recommend using lots of wax on anything that moves and touches other parts. You will be happy that you did. I am very happy with this kit. UGears, please consider creating pull attachments that can be hooked up to the tow clamp on the truck. GREAT KIT AND LOADS OF CONSTRUCTION FUN!

Amazing kit. My 14-year old son received for Christmas. Assembled in his own. Rub plenty of soft candle wax as lube on all moving parts. 4-cylinder engine has pistons that move up and down on crank shaft, steering wheel moves wheel. Rubber band drive propels truck forward and reverse. Cargo bed sides fold up/down. Front shock absorber. Door opens. Amazing number of details and when carefully assembled, it moves under its own power.

There are a couple things to note if you're planning to buy this for yourself; it's made of reasonably stong craft ply - but it's still craft ply. It's definitely flimsy in places, and can break if you aren't careful. This truck came with one extra sheet of replacement parts for the most common breaks. This is definitely a project that requires a patient builder, and has some tedious parts (like sanding all the gears and waxing every moving part). I believe it took me about 10-12 hours in total. After assembly, I hadn't fitted the gear controls together tight enough and they have slipped out and currently don't work (in this state, it can still be pushed manually like a regular wooden toy, it's the motor that is out of commission). I'd recommend a LOT of patience ... MoreThere are a couple things to note if you're planning to buy this for yourself; it's made of reasonably stong craft ply - but it's still craft ply. I'd recommend a LOT of patience and care with those sections, as I was rushing near the end of the assembly and I'm sure that's why it failed. It's pretty enough on my shelf as a display piece that I haven't bothered pulling those steps apart to fix the motor. It's my opinion that the low star reviews on these puzzles are mostly due to people who haven't built anything like this before not quite understanding the materials this is made from. Please be sure you know what you're getting into and read the descriptions of the puzzles!

Was as a Christmas present for my husband and he finished the truck last night. This was not the first model he did but he said it was the hardest he made. It looks nice close to the train he did before. Beautiful models and nice explanation how to make them.
Ad was misleading and made you think you got the truck with the set. Rather, you only got the add on components. So then I had to purchase the truck separately. I had reviewed other options and thought the deal offered was priced extremely well considering I thought the truck was included. Regardless still happy that my Grandchildren can build something they can be proud of.
I have built 13 3d wooden puzzles, about 8 from UGEARS. UGEARS kits use the most finished plywood of the 3 brands I have built. The instructions are the best and easiest to follow.. UGEARS uses rubber band power while another brand uses springs (rubber bands are the best in my opinion) These kits although functional are not toys but more for display. I now have a large display and 5 or 6 more kits to assemble. If you are looking for a new challenge and Lego Technic has become too expensive for you, then UGEARS 3D wooden puzzles are for you.Caution; when assembling the kits, take extra care when building the gears because sometimes they do not function properly by the time you reach final assembly (sanding & greasing, and taking the crowns off the gears) are key!
These wood models aren't for everyone. However, if you get into dealing with a high form of engineering: high tolerance parts, Illustrated assembly instructions, and a bit of hair pulling, than these types of models are for you. This model in particular is an exceptionally difficult model. The age level is listed as "14". I'd like to see anybody who has never built a model before tackle a model like this one: broken pieces abound! On the positive, I can build models like this one and be very successful at them. There are little tricks of the trade you pick up after you've done a few. The reward, after spending up to 12 hours assembling a model like this one is self satisfaction of a job well done.
I have the truck with the tank on the back and a second truck with the fire ladder. The truck with the tanker has the trailer behind it. I like the way the tanker opens up. The fire ladder truck was a trickier build but the ladder does extend a long way.
Found the Truck UGM -11 kit well made strong with very good instruction book it goes together well but with a few set backs on the way ( that I had made ) but gets you thinking and sorting the problems that I had made out . This was my first kit from UEARS that I have built and found it excellent in every step of the build unable to find anything to say bad about this product My next is the Train and Racing car .You can also find good videos on YouTube that can help if you get stuck. I am hooked at the age of eighty I found the kit made me think and was a pleasure to build with a very nice looking model at the end . Great birthday presents from my wife . From a very old model maker
first on i obtained was the combine havester, was challenging (but done in 7 hrshowever i learned toilet was to sand all attached surfaces after you punch outthe parts or they prevent smooth operation. on the whole was great exercise. The ugm 11 truck worked very well after learning and making sure all sub assembled parts moved as they should. this took 8 days as the tips of myfingers getting sore pushing out the tiny parts.this model was very good .notone i wood start on.but by all means a great man toy
