Universal Audio Volt 476P USB Audio Interface
The Universal Audio Volt 476P USB Audio Interface builds on the success of the 476 audio interface, with an expanded design that now features four channels of preamps. The V76P comes equipped with an analog 1176-style compressor circuit on each channel - adding punch and weight to your tracks on the input stage, allowing you to lighten the CPU load from your computer by processing your tracks before they are recorded into your DAW. The ultimate portable interface for recording vocals, the Volt 476P USB includes a Vintage Mic Preamp mode, taken from a vintage UA 610 tube preamplifier that gently sculpts and shapes your tone to add warmth and subtle saturation to your vocal recordings. Be album ready all in one place with Volt 476P. Volt 476P USB comes included with a host of carefully selected software packages to inspire your creativity. Where others offer a large amount of software with little purpose, the Universal Audio Volt 476P gives you everything you need to create professional music any time by including Ableton Live Lite DAW, a number of virtual instruments including UJAM's Virtual Drummer and Virtual Bassist as well as a suite of modelling amplifiers for your electric guitar and bass from Softube as well as a slew of world-class plugins from Relab and much more. Producing on the go? No problem, powered by USB, the Volt 476P can travel with you anywhere to create professional sounding music and thanks to the compatibility with Mac, Windows and iOS devices, no matter what system you are using to create, the Volt 176 will be able to adapt and thrive.

Upgraded from a Scarlett 2i2, which I was very happy with but needed something bigger. The Volt 476P delivers everything I would've wanted, so far I've been quite impressed.

I was so excited for the Volt series, and I tried both the 276 and 476P in my home studio before returning both. The feature I was most excited about was the compressor, which simply adds too much noise to the signal chain, even with proper gain staging. The UA specs for the compressor mode attack and release are also incorrect, so make sure you try the modes for yourself rather than relying on the descriptions from the company. All in all a great idea, but the quality of the hardware makes the interface overpriced. Why pay extra for a feature that makes your signal chain worse?
