My special recipe in the morning after working out is quite delicious.1 Scoop protein powder1 Chobani almond choco loco yogurt (coconut, plain or vanilla yogurt could replace but the almonds and chocolate are tasty in this mix)1 handful of ice12oz black coffee (dark french roast is my preference)1 splash of milk.Great recovery and start to the morning after working out, get your protein, sugar and caffeine to get you started for the day. Great tasting protein that is very good quality. The sodium levels are a bit high at 370mg per serving, so I dropped a star for that. However, the serving size is quite large compared to what I am used to. It's also a bit confusing to compare servings to other brands. FYI, the serving is in weight which is 41 grams, and the volume is 118.5cc for that same serving size. It has 30 grams of protein. Compare this to my previous protein which had 20grams of protein per serving with an actual quaintly 96cc. I am lowering my serving size to drop the sodium down to 300 which is still high but acceptable for me. If I go to that same 96cc, I will be down 18.6% which still gets me 26 grams of protein to go with about 300mg of sodium.

My intention was to do breakfast protein shakes. I'm more of a savory person than a sweet person when it comes to breakfast, so I expected the peanut butter would be my favorite because it might have the saltiness I prefer, followed by chocolate because I do tend to be a chocolate lover when given the choice between chocolate or vanilla, and I got vanilla just in case it would blend easily into the background of other mixes. The peanut butter and chocolate are fine, but in a blind taste test, I'd never be able to identify them as either of those flavors. Compared with vanilla, their flavors are nowhere near as strong and enjoyable. I notice more of the chalkiness inherent to protein powder with peanut butter and chocolate than I do with vanilla. I also mix it with spinach so the vanilla has the added benefit of taking on a nice green color where the chocolate and peanut butter look muddier and less appetizing. I do a scoop of vanilla, 2 tbsp PB2 Pure, 40 g spinach, half a frozen banana (~ 55g), 1 cup soy milk, 1 tbsp flaxseed meal, 1 tbsp chia seeds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and I look forward to it every morning. 486 calories, 54 g protein, 17 g fiber, 40 g carbs, 15g fat, 13 g sugar.
