This has got to be one of the best EDC tools for city living. I carry it on my keychain and take it everywhere as it weighs almost nothing and I use at least one of the tools everyday . The only way this could be improved is by the addition of the tweezers. I've considered the 'manager' model which has the tweezers but preferred this model with the LED and then to also carry 'Uncle Bill's silver grippers' just to keep my keychain as compact as possible.

I have had this knife for 15+ years!I would be absolutely lost without this little beauty.Not one day goes by that I reach into my pocket- grab this knife and either use the pen,knife and especially the Philips screwdriver!

The rambler/manager/midnite manager series are my favorite small-size SAKs. They have all the essential tools for light-duty cutting, grooming, and screwdriver use without the added bulk and limited extra usefulness to me added by the Minichamp. Unfortunately, this model's biggest selling point-- the flashlight, turned out to be its biggest drawback. Adding the flashlight eliminates the tweezers, which I consider a very useful tool. The flashlight handle scale is also noticeably thicker than the tweezers scale, making this model wider than the other models in the series. This is a good knife to keep on your keychain. It's small enough that it's not bulky in your pocket, and it has the right features for normal daily use (specifically the flashlight, pen, scissors, and bottle opener). No tweezers on this one, but for an everyday keychain pocket knife, the pen and flashlight are more useful.
There are so many choices in the 58mm pocket knifes. The SD certainly covers the basics for daily use. I carried one since 1970. But there is more. A change in scale with either a pen, a flash light or both.Then the Rambler gives a very useful new tool - the small Philips screw driver, bottle opener and wire stripper.Midnite Manager (signature lite manager) drops the tweezers and toothpick for the pen and flash light. I also ordered in spare tweezers and toothpicks, now in red, blue and black, and made a cork leather case to protect the scales in my EDC sling and to hold the extra tools and a pin. Best of all worlds.If a pocket torch and a full size pen are preferred then the Rambler is the better buy.
I bought this for my son's birthday. It arrived on time, exactly as specified including the engraving. He was very pleased with it and keeps it attached to his keyring for use at work and at home. I had wondered if the torch feature would prove useful and was very pleased when he said that it was bright, effective and very useful. An excellent product.
This was the 3rd midnight manager that I ordered unfortunately there is no longer quality control...missing battery cover, dead battery...it appears like I was shipped a used knife....I have purchased over 20 knives and have spent over $2,000 on knives and accessories....no more
Just what I required!
This is my second Midnite Managey (I had the previous one nearly thirty years and found it really useful).All the features are of use for every day activities and there’s no wastage with features which might be used once in a lifetime if at all.The light for finding things at night without disturbing your partner,the scissors for fingernails and labels on clothes etc and the pen when you have to unexpectedly make note of a number or address.Neat, compact and invaluable.
i was very surprised by the brightness of the torch. it is better than all the small key ring LED torches i have had of the internet.all other tools are as expected, great quality and robust. don't use the pen that often. not sure if it is refillable/replaceable???
