I had been wanting a touchscreen for years, but they always seemed expensive, unreliable, and kind of a pain - I know that wasn't the case with all of them, but it just was too much trouble to find a good one. Now I wish I had bought one earlier! This is great. After installing the Mac drivers, I find it's a really satisfying experience, including the Accessibility Keyboard automatically showing and hiding when I need it. Getting both power and video via a single USB-C cable, it's sleek too. I can also plug it into my iPad Pro (via USB-C) and it's a beautiful, large image. AND it's reasonably priced!

I ordered several different brands from other retailers to compare weight, size and functionality. If you solely need something for work then this is the best out there for the price. Hooks up to my work laptop via usb-c and best of all its touch screen. I have also been able to use it with Galaxy Note 10 and Nintendo Switch. If you are a graphic designer then I would avoid this but would recommend the Lenovo M14T which I also purchased but sent back as it's slightly smaller and does not work with my Switch. Overall well build, full metal frame unlike many others that are plastic. Stand works well and great cover for protection. Would recommend

I bought this to use as a whiteboard to draw on for meetings. I am finding it's too small for that. I can draw diagrams but I can't write small enough to write labels. Some software supports typing in a text box which addresses this issue. It's a nice monitor. Great picture. Decent touch. Great price. I like it. I just wish I could "draw smaller" on it. I don't use the speakers so I can't rate those.
I bought this and the Asus MB16ACE because I couldn't decide which one I should go with. The buttons on the Asus are a bit easier to use than the joystick on the Viewsonic, but I probably just need to get use to it. Screen quality was pretty much on the same for both. The Asus *may* have been a teenie bit more sharp, but I found the Viewsonic a teenie bit brighter. The colors were the same, the blue screen settings were the same. I kept the Viewsonic because I was nit picking over the screen (like I said, the Asus may have been a teenie bit more sharp, but it was really hard to tell), the Viewsonic was a bit brighter. The Viewsonic is more versatile, has speakers, has a stand. The Asus was paper thin, no stand and looked fragile. I'd recommend the Asus over this one ... I had been looking at portable monitors for a few months. All I saw were a bunch of unknown Chinese brands. Most of them have good reviews, but I didn't like them for a couple of reasons: 1. Most of them have ports on one side, and ports/buttons on the other side. This means that you might have problems if you want to use the monitor in portrait mode, because the ports would be on top, and you wouldn't be able to access the buttons on the side that's sitting on the desk. 2. A lot of them have a hole in one of the corners that lets you use a pen as a stand. The hole looks really tacky. Now this brand name ViewSonic VG1655 portable monitor has come along, and it solves both of those issues. It has a multi-directional button on the back that you use to access the ... A lot of them have a hole in one of the corners that lets you use a pen as a stand. The hole looks really tacky. Now this brand name ViewSonic VG1655 portable monitor has come along, and it solves both of those issues. It has a multi-directional button on the back that you use to access the on-screen menu. And it has a built-in stand (usable in both landscape and portrait modes), so there's no hole in it. You're paying about a 40% premium over the unknown Chinese brands though, but you also get a 3 year warranty. It comes with 3 cables (USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A, mini-HDMI to HDMI), a power adapter, a cover, a microfiber cloth, a quick start guide, and a piece of paper saying it should be used in 1920x1080 mode. I'm using the USB-C to USB-C cable with my laptop, so I don't need to use the power adapter. The cables are only about 3 feet long, so they might be a bit short if you need to use the power adapter. I like how one end of the cable has a right-angle connector - that could be useful as a space saver in some situations. What I don't like about this monitor is that the colors are dull compared to my laptop. And this is supposed to be an IPS panel, which is the best type of panel. It's very obvious when duplicating my laptop screen to the portable monitor - colors look vivid on my laptop, and they look dull on the ViewSonic. It's not a brightness issue, I have the ViewSonic on maximum brightness (that's the default anyway). The colors just look dull, and I tried all the different view modes and color adjustments. Green and purple colors seem especially bad - they can look really dark sometimes, and purple sometimes looks like dark blue. (See the photo I attached.) Another thing is the button on the back. The good thing about it is you just need to press one button to access all the menus and change settings. You can push the button in 5 directions - up, down, left, right, and inwards. The bad thing is that ViewSonic designed their menus in an inconsistent manner. For example, on some submenus, you have to push the button in one direction to go back to the parent menu, and on other submenus, you have to push the button in a different direction to go back to the parent menu. Because of that, I found the menu navigation to constantly behave differently than I expected because of the fact that the actions assigned to each direction always changed depending on what submenu I was on. So overall, if you're just using this monitor as a secondary monitor and you're not doing any graphics editing on it, then it'll probably be fine. But for the premium in price and considering it's a name brand, the dull colors is a bit disappointing. After all, the main thing a monitor should be judged on is its image quality. If vibrant colors are important to you, there are other portable monitors out there that advertise a high gamut for around the same price as this monitor.
I have tried various generic brand portable monitors from Home Essentials Direct and returned all of them because of various issues such as speakers not working, or bluish/green tint display issues. Got tired of all that and gave ViewSonic TD1655 Touchscreen portable monitor a shot. So far, I don't have any issues. Works well with my windows PC and Nintendo Switch. Colors might be a bit dull for some, but overall, this is a quality product and does the job. Touchscreen works flawlessly with Windows and also with Samsung Dex. I have not encountered any lag yet. For those of you who might have missed an important step in setting up the device for the touchscreen to work properly, try setting the monitor first in control panel. Follow these instructions... The Viewsonic TD1655 worked perfectly out-of-the-box including the touch screen. Didn't even need calibration adjustments. In five minutes I was up-and-running, INCLUDING extended display (it is the upper-left in the photo). If you don't need a touchscreen, Viewsonic has models at lower price points. It fits in my backpack briefcase and my messenger bag and has a protective cover that snaps on magnetically. I had borrowed, tried or bought-and returned four portable monitors, none of which worked without some effort. One didn't work at all despite an hour of trying everything I could think of (and it wasn't cheap). Another required a separate power source - for a portable monitor? Seriously, they expect me to carry another power supply on the road? From those ... MoreThe Viewsonic TD1655 worked perfectly out-of-the-box including the touch screen. Seriously, they expect me to carry another power supply on the road? From those experiences I looked at the specs of a couple dozen more, and then decided to try the Viewsonic TD1655. It is head-and-shoulders above all the others, even ones that were more expensive. The only possible exception was the Lenovo M14. I have used Thinkpads exclusively for years, currently have four between my wife and myself (all Yogas). I really wanted it to be the one, but the smaller screen was a deal breaker. After receiving the Viewsonic I discovered, besides the larger screen, that it had better features and more adjustments. Search no more and don't waffle about a few dollars. This is the only portable monitor to buy.
I bought the touch USB c portable monitor for my new mini pc the size of a cell phone. I had to learn quick about the usb c port and usb c cables. The ViewSonic charger powers the mini pc, and the mini pc powers and feeds video to this monitor all via one cable. I looked at many other Chinese made monitor and read many reviews. Very mixed. I decided that I would be better off with a name brand. I siwh the manual gave more detailed and necessary info on usb c cables in case the user need longer or new cables. Not all USB c cables are the same at all. I had to do my own research and learn about the specs of USB c cables. When you use cables other than the ones that came with the monitor, you need to get the right ones. Otherwise, you will have issues. Overall, I am ... The monitor stand attachment completely obstructed the power input. Had to replace the stand. Only support offered by Refurb was to return the item. Grade B means it will have costemitic imperfections but this was functionally unusable without a new stand. Monitor quality is good despite these annoyances.
