This package is your typical over the counter vitamin supplement. The pills are round and white and about 3/8 inch in diameter. If you have trouble swallowing a pill this size you may want to consider something else. Zinc is good for the immune system but too much may offset the benefit of other supplements. Other than that, you get what's described, 50mg Zinc pills in a non child-proof bottle. Keep that in mind if you have little ones around who might go exploring.

Zinc is a nutrient found throughout your body that helps your immune system and metabolism function. Zinc is also important to wound healing and your sense of taste and smell. The Vitamatic Zinc tables are white and are about the size of a standard compressed pill. I take it along with other vitamins and it does not have an after taste. So far, I have not felt any unusual stomach cramps or other potential biological conditions that would suggest that the Zinc tables are not agreeing with me. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

I have used zinc specifically for treating the onset of a cold or respiratory ailment to help alleviate the symptoms and maybe shorten the length of the cold/flu. I think that it is an effective supplement for fighting a specific ailment but not for taking long-term in high doses because it can have minor side effects. The National Institutes of Health considers 40 mg of zinc a day to be the upper limit dose for adults. During a period of high risk for contagion of a respiratory illness (such as COVID-19), I have found this zinc tablet a good extra-precaution in protecting my health.
