Wacaco Exagram Scales

Great tiny scale. Compact enough to be placed under my Breville/Sage Dual Boiler. Works on 2 AAA batteries. Unfortunately the beeping sound is quite distracting. The accuracy is precise for that price. Would definetily recommend this product to other Home Barista. A valuable alternative to Timemore Nano. Unfortunately the timer won't automatically count once the first espresso drips. Not a problem. I already in love with the scale. Hopefully it last a long time.

Exagram Scale

I have been using the scale nearly every day since I received it. The first issue, which I found has been experienced by others, is the batteries easily lose connection causing intermitant taring and/or constant changing of weight value. Now, I check for proper battery placement before each use.The second issue is incosistant weighing. I pre-weigh my coffee beans and, when I weigh them out for use, the value of the second time weighing is often slightly different(0.1g-0.2g) than the pre-weighed value. The main issue is the lack of battery stabilization.

Grams and grains and gratings…!

The scale performs well. However the on/off switch does belong on the top deck. The ‘gratings’…? The beep that one cannot turn-off. At 05:00 when I craft my Pico is quiet. But the beep upsets the tranquility. EL

Great price to oomph ratio

I love my Exagram! It's accurate, it's sensitive and can be used for anything from espresso to pour over. However there is one instruction in the manual you have take into careful consideration: Do not put Lithium or rechargeable batteries in your Exagram. Those kinds of batteries will have the Exagram running on overtime and throwing of your readings off incredibly.

Great, except for two minor flaws.

Great scales except for two small drawbacks. The first one is the insufficiently recessed power button. It can be accidentally pressed if the scale is carried in a bag. The second is that the batteries can fall out of their sockets a little bit and then the scales start to lie. The first time I did not notice it immediately. It was unpleasant. Now I always check that the batteries are tight before use.

Not Worth It

While the timer function works well, the weight function is less than ideal. First, the numbers jump from one number to the next, without a simple +0.1 gram increase. This makes missing target weights very easy. Second, even when there is nothing on the scale, it adds or subtracts weight. I’m very disappointed with this purchase. I love the picopresso I bought with the scale but this scale has been aggravating to use.

Replaced my Hario Scale

I was hating on this because it doesn't compete with the price point of smaller scales with 500g weight limits.But after using it a while, this is definitely much better than price wise and speed wise compared to the Hario. The only thing that the Hario seems to excel at is battery life since its display does not light up.But I think the trade off is worth it. The exagram is compact, quicker and keeps delta of 0.1g throughout the weight range. I only wish it thought about battery life as well, but you can't please everyone.

Room for improvement

The size of Exagram is just perfect for my manual espresso machine (cafelat robot) as it is hard to find one in the market. Yet, the scale is a bit too sensitive at times. For instance, the reading will drop automatically (for 0.5g max), even when there is nothing on it! It might be a disaster especially when I am using it for espresso extraction. Anyway, I still enjoy using it. Hopefully the next version can help to resolve that.

Works great! Accurate! Makes sure you know you've pushed buttons!

Very quick scale update time, seems to be very accurate with no drift. Backlight is nice, though one of the LCD rows in one number is stuck partially on when I first turn it on. The batteries it came with got eaten through pretty quickly, we'll see how top-tier batteries fare. Timer is nice. Overall, a great scale, would definitely recommend.Cons: IT BEEPS LOUDLY WITH EVERY SINGLE BUTTON PRESS and you can't turn this off. Also, having it beep at you when you're taring the scale or resetting the timer is annoying as all-get-out.

a solid option

It beeps, that’s bad.Timer is inconvenient, I don’t use it.It does not have bells and whistles like bluetooth and USB charging, but I don’t want to pay for what I don’t need.But it is small, _good_ looking, and reliable: does not lag with the numbers. So for simple applications like under the group head, or weighing beans, it’s my preference.
