I did research on Reddit and it turns out the hood over the camera from the kit is causing the glare as light reflects back down to the camera lens! Straight to the point. This thing is light, simple to install and surprisingly secure. It's so thin that it's almost invisible at first glance. It seriously wraps my cam so tight, that it's like a second skin. It comes with everything you need to install it, so that's not a problem. The cable is sturdier than you'd think. So that's another positive thing. Really, I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't get one for your nest cam. If you live in an apartment, this will definitely come in handy, if management allows you to install a camera outside, that is. But for me, it goes great in my package drop off area. Allowing me to see just how parcel services are treating my stuff. Bottom line, this is a go for me. Highly recommended.

As I am mounting it at about that height I decided to try out the anti-theft bracket.It does indeed provide additional security as it clamps down on your Cam and prevents it from being nicked or damaging itself on a long drop. The anti-theft case depth means the camera can not be mounted within 40 degrees of horizontal when suspended from a ceiling or eve using the magnetic camera mount.If using the camera to look down the side of a single story home, you will not get a proper view of this area as the camera can not be placed near horizontal with the anti-theft installed.2. Moving the anti-theft case forward to allow greater near horizontal mounting of the camera using the magnetic mount means the power connector on the bottom of the camera is now blocked.3. I love the Google Nest Battery Cam. It’s held to its base only by a very powerful magnet. To remove it, you just pull it away from its base, no tools needed.That’s great, but it dawned on me that any neighborhood kid could just walk away with the camera. This is the reason for the Wasserstein anti-theft mount. It works exactly like the thin anti-theft cords you see at retail stores, keeping smartphones and laptops secure. It took only about 5 minutes to install, and I feel secure that my camera will still be there day after day and month after month. Kudos.Keep your drill handy as you have to unscrew the bottom / side screw of the mounting plate to secure the cable that will eventually be connected to the camera’s Anti-theft mount / shroud.Directions indicated that Inside the shroud there was plastic covering the silicone holders in the shroud, but that was not the case for me.After placing the camera in the mount (actually, a perfect pristine fit), I used the torx screw, the other end of the security cable and wrench to secure the pieces together. Then, I let the magnet grab hold and I was done.Do I recommend this mount? Absolutely. It may deter someone from a grab theft if they see the cable, that’s for sure.
