I've had a Webber Gas BBQ for 13 plus years now, it's a superb BBQ and it still works brilliantly and I use it a lot, so I had no doubt that Webber would have got this right.I had some hesitations however, my concern was that it wouldn't get as hot as my gas and it would take longer to heat up, also that it wouldn't taste as good partly because there wouldn't be any flames. I was completely wrong on all accounts.I tested this side by side with my very seasoned Webber gas BBQ, I was cooking burgers and chicken kebabs and did half on each, it took 10 minutes to get very very hot which was actually a little bit quicker than my gas, however the temperature in the electric was hotter than I normally cook so had a few welcome flames when I put the meat on which really ... MoreI've had a Webber Gas BBQ for 13 plus years now, it's a superb BBQ and it still works brilliantly and I use it a lot, so I had no doubt that Webber would have got this right.I had some hesitations however, my concern was that it wouldn't get as hot as my gas and it would take longer to heat up, also that it wouldn't taste as good partly because there wouldn't be any flames. I cooked the burgers for the same time on each grill, 4 mins a side turning once. The burgers cooked equally well, as did the kebabs, although the compact BBQ is a touch smaller than my Gas Webber so the kebabs went on sideways. To add that I've done 6 or so BBQ's since testing and you couldn't tell the difference between this and the Gas.I also for the first time used a smoke box, I used smokeys hardwood pellets from Waitrose and slow cooked some BBQ marinaded chicken for an hour and it was amazing, everyone enjoyed the food. This BBQ is also pretty light, you could take this camping as long as you had a hook-up and you'd be grilling on easy mode all week, and for anyone new to BBQs or hesitant about using gas or coal, this is absolutely the answer, you can also steam veg on this, it's also very easy to clean, it does come with a plastic scraper, but I used by trusted wire BBQ brush and it works great.I don' think it needs to be brought inside, it appears pretty weatherproof, I just take the control module out and bring inside with my cable.Would 100% recommend, but if you don't have a table then get the one with the stand, or get the bigger one, you'll not be disappointed.

I have been using this grill for one year now, and have to say that I am really disappointed. This is just good looking, useless bbq.The reason for bad review is that dripping tray is too close to heater which cause grease fire all the time. Even with just few oil drops from food will cause flames.According to support, the tray is so close to heater because the product team wanted to accomplish high temperature in short time. They accomplished that which is useless if you don't want use it as a smoker. If you prefer grilling on fire, this is not a flame you need. This is just burnt grease from a tray which gives your food a disgusting taste and smell. Also, tray is made of aluminium which is almost impossible to clean. After being displaced by Hurricane Ian, my grilling options were limited due to temporary apartment living. Purchased at Lowe’s knowing the return policy would be my safety net if not completely satisfied. I would compare this grill equal to a Weber gas q1200 (one in the arsenal at my home). Temps are easily controlled and exceeds 600 degrees on high. I’ve smoked salmon, grilled chicken and veggies…all had that expected smoked/grilled flavor. There is a slight learning curve due to the precise temp this grill can maintain, but nothing more than personal preference on sear/cook levels. I’ve owned multiple Weber grills over the years and this little gem is another reflection of their commitment to quality. I still love my charcoal and wood cooking, but for those of ... MoreAfter being displaced by Hurricane Ian, my grilling options were limited due to temporary apartment living. Could electric grills be the future for barbecuing? This compact offering from Weber certainly ticks many boxes. Weber believes that for many modern families the traditional bulky gas or charcoal barbecue is not an option for outdoor cooking, especially if you only have a balcony space or limited garden access. So they have come up with this compact electric offering. All that is required is access to electricity and a small table/ledge. The flex is not too long so you will probably need some sort of extension cable.Do not be fooled by the term compact it still has room enough to cook four good sized steaks at one time. Also at just over 16kg it is portable and if you carry the plates separately it can easily be maneuvered to where you need it. Also at just over 16kg it is portable and if you carry the plates separately it can easily be maneuvered to where you need it. I have decided that ours will live in the utility room as it takes up no more workspace than a small microwave. As well as its portability another excellent feature is its flexibility. With an inbuilt thermometer it very quickly reaches a high temperature ideal for searing meat (A recommended 20 minutes preheating). To prevent heat loss Weber advise that you keep the lid down whilst cooking and so on its first outing my steak ended up cooking far quicker than anticipated but I will adjust timings next time.A really neat feature is a smoking/steaming pan. One plate can be removed and the pan inserted. Filled with water it acts as a brilliant steamer (our asparagus cooked perfectly in ten minutes). I have yet to use it as a smoker but have purchased some apple wood pellets from Weber to use in the future. This I am sure will give a real authentic smoky taste to meat or fish.I certainly will make more use of it than its traditional cousins. When the weather is nice it will be far more convenient to quickly plug in and get started rather than wait for ages for the coals to warm up- that's if you have them in already! I think Weber could definitely be on to something.
This is exactly what I've been looking for and it arrived at the perfect time for the various bank holidays !!I live in a Central London flat where only electric BBQs are allowed (gas or charcoal BBQs are banned in the leasehold) and this is ideal for my small terrace. The BBQ is compact and stylish, and the build / every component feels very high quality. It feels sturdy but light enough to carry around / take out from storage easily. Every component can be taken apart which also means if any part breaks, it can be replaced. (assuming the spare part is available)What surprised me the most is how versatile it is with the various functions (e.g. searing, smoking, steaming). It comes with various accessories so it can be used to cook different things on each side of the BBQ.Have used it twice so far and both times the food was amazing - despite being compact , it can easily squeeze in 6 burgers on each side of the BBQ; however cooking a whole chicken would not be possible with the lid down due to the shape of the lid.Admitted I don't usually BBQ much but it was super simple to use and control the temperature - which makes this more appealing to use compared to a gas / charcoal BBQ. It takes approx 10 mins to preheat and it's ready to go.It's also super easy to clean - there's a little drawer at the bottom with an aluminium tray to catch all the grease and I bought a high quality BBQ brush separately to clean the grill plates.Overall I am super impressed with this BBQ and have already recommended this to a few friends.
What a great little electric BBQ! I had never used an electric BBQ before and was a little sceptical, but after the first use, I was convinced. The features on this compact version are fantastic with trays to facilitate steaming vegetables and also adding woodchips to add various flavours of smokeyness to the meat. The BBQ is simple to setup and the power control unit is easily detachable for storing indoors away from the main unit. The design looks good and being a compact, it is not hard to find surface space for it.It heats up to a usable temperature in pretty good time and I was really impressed with the cook on the meat. The grill area is easily big enough to do six or more burgers at a time which is plenty for I use this BBQ for. The cooking temperature gauge is very visible and easy to read which means less need to keep opening the lid which does let out a lot of heat quickly and then has to build up again.Cleaning was simple too with the smooth dome design easily accessible and easy to wipe down. The grills and trays are very simply to swap round and remove for cleaning too which makes this a good low maintenance BBQ option. The disposable drip tray is also very effective and I found it caught a great deal of the grease without leaving too much of a mess.I haven't used it away from the home yet but it would easily fit in the car and would be great for days out if you have access to plug it in somewhere. All in all I'm finding this BBQ great value for money, and with summer coming up, I'm looking forward to getting much more use out of it.
This is a great little grill and we use it alot when we go camping with our RV. Have had it almost a year now. Really like the grill. Now I have a problem and can't get Weber to help me it seems. We had to remove all items from our camper for the repair shop to work on it. In doing so we missplaced the power controller. I have tried to get Weber to give me a price on one and asked how I can buy a replacement. So far I have not been given any information on buying a replacemnt. In the past I have had great Weber service and support, but this time it seems to have been a great let down. If I can not get a replacement controller I might as well through it in the trash. If that happens I'll never own another Weber product due to sorry service support.
This portable electric grill is just awesome. It has many features that much larger and more expensive grills have. Has a thermostat, a nice temperature range of choices, a steamer, attachment to smoke meats, the option to thaw meats before cooking them.I have grilled twice already and love the removable grates that can be placed in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. We are in our 70’s and enjoy grilling a few times each month. We grill year round enjoying our grill as much as the leaves that change in the fall in Pennsylvania.I look forward to slow grilling prime rib, but so far have only grilled our steaks. The Weber brand has always been one recommended because of the quality of workmanship that goes into each grill.I definitely recommend this grill to all of ... MoreThis portable electric grill is just awesome. I bought this grill. With a cover, grill cleaner, drip pans, and tax, it was $550. I got it. It takes a solid 20 minutes to heat up. It's been 75 - 80 degrees out when I'm trying to grill too. I think in cold weather, the grill would just never get to 550 or 600F. When I open the lid, the temperature falls like a rock falls out of the sky. It will go from 550F to below 400F within 30 seconds of having the lid open. It will not make it back over 500 before the items need to be flipped. Then the temperature drops like a rock again. In BBQ'ing, things need to cook at high temps and be flipped after a few minutes. This grill can't heat back up in a few minutes after opening the lid. It's too weak. This grill can't heat back up in a few minutes after opening the lid. It's too weak. I was skeptical that anything that plugs into a 120V, 15A outlet could be powerful enough to grill. Then I read it was insulated. I thought, then it could work. I still think it could but they didn't do a good job insulating it. If the grill is 350 degrees on the inside, it is very hot to the touch on the outside. That is energy just getting away. If they insulated it much better, perhaps it could keep the heat in from the underpowered heating element and do a better job. The real solution is to make a 240V two pole unit for North America. If a BBQ is electric, it should plug into the same thing that people plug an electric hot tub into, or an electric cloths dryer, or an electric car, or an electric oven. Not a 120V, 15A outlet. For $450 sticker price for the grill, it should be a good grill. Now I've tried using the grill 4 times. Every time, it has been weak. I decided I'm not satisfied with this grill. I'm upset. I want my money back and I don't want this grill. A George Foreman grill works way better than this $550 dollar patio decoration. Weber won't take it back. They don't have a satisfaction guarantee for the grills, only for grill accessories. I bought the grill new, direct from Weber less than 1 month ago. I've had multiple back and forth emails with their support as well as called in. They won't take back the grill or give me a refund. Honestly, they should not sell Lumin grills to anyone so save face for their company. My dad uses a Weber charcoal grill. It's the only grill we had through my whole childhood. He still uses it. I trusted them. They let me down. I'm disappointed in Weber now for making in inferior grill, that really should be called on oven and not a grill, and I'm disappointed in Weber for how they are handling this situation and refusing to take the grill back.
Love this Weber Lumin Grill. Compact size but top tier performance! This grill heats up fast and can get up to 600 degrees to grill anything you want from hotdogs to hamburgers and steaks to perfection. The grates on this grill are really great and produce perfect grill marks as well! Also comes with a second pan to replace one side of the grates with and you can use that to smoke, defrost, steam or warm food which really ups the usage of the grill and turns it into a 5-1 grill. Even though this is a compact grill you can easily fit 6 steaks on there at one time or 9 burgers and hot dogs to feed a nice amount of people at once easily. Perfect for patios in buildings too!!!
