A floatable flyer that goes the distance, Zisc is a must-have toy for active dogs. More pliable than a hard-shell disc and faster than those made from fabric, Zisc is a perfect pick for trips to the park, yard or water. Flexible material makes this dog flying disc gentle on soft mouths and easy to pick up. In the world of disc-style dog toys, Zisc flies to the top. While the Zisc dog toy is not designed to be a chew toy, it is designed to withstand as much active play as dogs can dish out while playing. Zisc is available in two sizes, large and small. The small size is a perfect disc for small dog breeds and those dog people who prefer a compact, go-anywhere dog disc. Small Zisc is not only smaller, but thinner and lighter too.

My ACD is nuts over these frisbees! The mini size is great for all sizes of dogs in my opinion. It flies beautifully and is a nice flexible material which is gentle on mouths. It’s so easy to pack for trips. They can be bent and folded with ease. My dog is extremely hard on toys and as such will eventually poke holes through them- but that doesn’t dissuade me from giving this toy a big 5 stars. West Paw has a toy guarantee, so will replace a toy once free of charge if your dog destroys it. Considering this and how crazy my dog is for these frisbees, it is well worth the price.

That's what my Aussie says! The blue 6.5" frisbee is her favorite toy. She has several and always has one close by. Her favorite activity is frisbee play -- she loves to run, jump, and catch the flexible disc. As a matter of fact, she meets me at the door every afternoon with the frisbee in her mouth; ready to play!I tried other "cheap plastic frisbees" but they never survived the first encounter with Gracie's jumping catch.Don't ever stop making the Zisc! I always keep a new one in reserve, just in case one is lost. We only had one Zisc fail over the last five years and that was a rip during a tug-of-war.Gracie and I are both very pleased with this toy! Keep 'em coming.

I throw West Paw Zogoflex Frisbee to my dogs every day, twice a day, then I rinse it off and put it away so they don't chew on it. That way they last at least 2 years before I need to reorder. My Aussies used to break their canine teeth with other Frisbee and bleed a lot. This one is so easy on their mouth and teeth, it flies pretty good, floats, they love to tug on them too. I have one of every color. I haven't found any better Frisbee than this in last 20 years.

I have bought the Kong frisbees in the past and they don't last long; they tear easily making it obviously difficult to play with afterwards. I have since been purchasing the WestPaw frisbees including the glow-in-the-dark one and even when it eventually tears from lots of play/use/chewing, the durability of the product will still allow it to glide thru the air allowing my Lil Man to continue to enjoy his favorite toy! I have yet to find another frisbee that can withstand my Lil Man's intense play/chewing/thrashing sessions!! Highly recommend!
The West Paw Glow Zisc is dog friendly. I bought the small one for my 50-pound dog. It is soft rubber and easy on my dog's mouth. It cleans easily with a little scrubbing. I now see that it is dishwasher safe; I haven't tired that. The small disc catches the wind and is blown off course; so I use when not windy. The disc has held up well; I don't let the dogs chew it. I carry an LED flashlight to charge the glow in the late evening. My new 6-month old retriever lost the disc in my very large yard (he will probably find it again). I can't wait; I am buying a large disc.
First of all, I must say these are by far the best fdiscsi have ever used. They fly much farther with less effort than any other disc I have tried. I get tendonitis throwing every day for 2 Border Collies. I switched from the larger ones to the smaller ones and my arm has improved. I also take a day off in between marathons sessions and that helps a lot. With that said, a while ago I thought I noticed a slight difference between the Ziscs. I purchased the small Glow in the Dark ziscs the past two times because we often play until dark and they are easier to find at dusk.To me, there seems to be a difference between the ones with pigment or concentrate and the Glow in the Dark Ziscs. The "Glow" Ziscs seem to slip through my wet fingers easier than ones with pigment. At first, I thought I was nuts.I conducted an informal experiment yesterday. I had both Ziscs with pigment and "Glow" Ziscs yesterday to perform a test. The "Glow' Ziscs feel just a whisker less rigid, and more slippery when wet. Maybe its due to the lack of concertrate and the addition of the glow ingredient? I threw green, tangerine and Glow Ziscs last evening in wet conditions, the green and tangerine did not fly off course due to slipping through my fingers as often as the "Glow" Ziscs. On previous outings I noticed this but i decided to conduct a study to prove to myself if this was the case.Taking turns alternating the order in which I threw them so I could disregard fatigue, I conducted (3) trials of (30) throws. Throwing in this order:Trial #11. Glow2. Tangerine3. GreenTrial #21. Tangerine2. Green3. GlowTrial #31.Green2. GlowTangerineTo shorten this review instead of breaking own each trial the cumulative totals for errant throws is a follows:Glow had 11 errant throwsGreen had 8 errant throwsTangerine had 6 for errant throws. This is by no means a controlled scientifc experiment as I am a variable that cannot be made consistent. Conditions were consistent and the amount of time between throws was controlled. No less than one minute between throws and no more than 1 min 15 seconds passed between throws. The amount of moisture was as consistent as I could get it. If the discs were excessively wet, I dried them off. I wiped off any mud and debris as well.By no means was this informal test performed under controlled conditions and I could see the color of the discs, so visual bias cannot be ruled out, but for my purposes, I am satisfied. The reason I did the test is because with (2) BCs younger than 3 years of age, I get the "Look" if i make a shoddy throw as they do not get to run as far and as fast as they can. I have to please my customers too!!By far no matter the color ,they flay farther with less effort than any disc I have tried. They are a fantastic product!
I researched every flying disc on Chewy and settled on this one. My dog is not a aggressive chewer but persistent chewer. We have thrown this thing now 100's of time since we got it and its holding up. It flys well and also if you throw it towards the ground it rolls really well which my dog adores. We do not let her gnaw on it, we use this purely as an interactive toy. It has just one tiny nick in it which for the amount of times she has carried it back that is amazing. Loved it so much bought another one and in fact ordering one in small because my Pomeranian also loves carrying this one back but its bigger then him. Highly recommend.
I first saw this product at the dog park and was interested in finding a frisbee for my blue healer that would NOT cause friction like the "soft bite floppy disc" we have been using. This friction cause by the nylon weave files her cannine teeth and because she loves frisbee so much we play 5 to 7 days a week for excercise. I have taught over 300 plus dogs over the past few years frisbee with this "soft bite" mentioned above and figured when I saw this frisbee by called Zisc by West Paw Design...I thought it would do well since the guy who was tossing it to his dog let me try it....It does fly well...but, because of its heavy weight and square edge....the dogs have a very very low percentage of catches because this Zisc "bounces" right out of their mouth upon impact ... MoreI first saw this product at the dog park and was interested in finding a frisbee for my blue healer that would NOT cause friction like the "soft bite floppy disc" we have been using. Also, due to its design it is difficult for the dog to pick up on firm surfaces. This frisbee lost its luster within 20 minutes my dog did not want to play with it. I tried again the next day and the same thing happened my dog made several attempts to catch it and due to the low percentage of successful catches...she would drop the Zisc and walk away from it....which is absolutely unheard of with my blue healer...this dog will play and retrieve until my arm wears out. My dog and I tried the KONG one finally after having problem with the Zisc....the Kong one is shaped better...fly's better....at she is able to catch it without it bouncing out of her mouth....KONG offers a smaller thinner version for puppies which is the one she seems to like the best...it is lighter and more supple and she is back to making dramatic aerial catches again. Maybe it is due to the fact that she has a smaller mouth then a lab or a golden and maybe this Zisc works better with a bigger dog with a larger more powerful mouth....my healer is only 45 lbs...so that is something to consider. I noticed personally throwing the Zisc that the outer edge bends too much during my throw and when the dogs siliva gets on it...it tends to slip out. I thing the material it is made out of is only "semi" durable because I bought one of the balls too and my other dog...Aussie Sheperd took little chunks out of it within 10 minutes of playing and chewing on it. I have NO AFFILIATION with KONG...but, I find their material to be way more durable, but only in that snowman shape original toys.....that's my opinion and my experience...good luck finding the right toy for your dog.Brian O'Hara,Northern California
My German shepherd Libby (2yrs, 65lbs, black) still has her orange West Paw Zisc that we bought in June 2023. I mentioned in my initial review that she bit a small hole in the center. Four months later, the center of her Zisc has deteriorated but unbelievably it still flies! We play catch with it 3-4 times every day. Libby has learned not to chew it but she worries it after each catch. I will order her a new one because they fly great and obviously can handle lots of tough use. Made in USA and still worth every cent! In the pics with Libby is her new baby sister Abbey Road (also GSGD, 5mos, 40lbs, white.)
My "blue lab" Rocky (blue heeler and black lab mix) finally was able to put a small tear in the Zisc, but only after 6 months of playing with it (hard- for over an hour a day), sleeping with it, gnawing on it, and general abuse that limited all other frisbees' life spans to mere days or hours. We play fetch by the river's edge every day while I get my walk in, and he goes swimming even in winter, wades out to get a drink, keeping one eye on his Zisc the entire time. Even the red cloth frisbees don't stay on the surface once they are water-logged, and they turn to ice in the cold weather. The Zisc does get a bit slimy (okay, a lot slimy) more quickly than some toys, but I figured out that a glove with textured palms (like a gardening glove or "monkey grip" glove) ... MoreMy "blue lab" Rocky (blue heeler and black lab mix) finally was able to put a small tear in the Zisc, but only after 6 months of playing with it (hard- for over an hour a day), sleeping with it, gnawing on it, and general abuse that limited all other frisbees' life spans to mere days or hours. The Zisc does get a bit slimy (okay, a lot slimy) more quickly than some toys, but I figured out that a glove with textured palms (like a gardening glove or "monkey grip" glove) will allow me to keep control, plus keep my hand clean and warm for dozens, even hundreds, of throws! When Rocky tires of fetch (not often) he likes to tug-o-war for variety, and if I'm feeling loose and strong, I can pick him up off the ground and spin him around (all 90 pounds, ughh!) until we both collapse from dizziness and exhaustion. He was doing the same thing to his favorite girlfriend, Echo (a smaller lab mix), yesterday when I noticed the small tear. Those two will latch onto the Zisc and take turns dragging each other around, not letting it loose for 20 to 30 minutes sometimes. Then they fight over who gets to use it as a pillow while they catch a power nap! Of course the Zisc is heavier than the average frisbee, so I've learned to alter my throwing technique so that I can keep throwing every day without pain (mainly a longer sweep of the arm, without so much snap of the wrist and elbow) and can get pretty good distance and accuracy, no matter what the wind conditions. Rocky and Echo don't have any trouble catching the disc in their mouth, and I believe the Zisc needs the higher than average side wall to create enough of an air pocket to hold it aloft, since it is heavier. I'll order a couple more Ziscs now, and use the torn one for a back-up in case of emergency! Thanks for a grrrrrrreat product!
