I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog chew so thoroughly rejected as this one. I have four dachshunds in my daily care. 2 are mine and 2 are my parents’, and they come for doggie daycare. I spend a lot of time managing their days and their diets, and I search for chews that will entertain, satisfy, and hopefully even benefit in some day. But they can’t do any of that if the dogs ignore them completely! The dogs act as though I’ve offended them.Naturally each dog is unique and has likes and dislikes of their own. They have no other choices, and are loudly protesting and physically roughing me up, demanding their old favorites. Meanwhile, there are these whimzees sticks strewn everywhere. They don’t even bother to bury them. They’d have to be a lot more desperate to eat these, like, a LOT more, is the message I’m getting.Even when they have no other choices, they absolutely refuse to deign to chew these things.All other considerations - value, messiness, effectiveness, durability, smell . . . My Skittle was gifted these treats to try out from Influenster and Whimzees and boy was she excited. All Whimzees Dental Treats, regardless of shape, are made of the same high-quality ingredients. They’re fully digestible, limited-ingredient and grain and gluten free. The texture of the Whimzees is quite hard, so they do take a few minutes to chew through. Your dog will kind of soften them up as they gnaw and be able to eat them that way. Whimzees claims that the ridges, nubs, and hollow spaces massages their gums and works in between their teeth, and I can certainly see why they make this claim. We did have one little scare while testing this product. The treat that is shaped like a bone got caught in her throat because she decided to inhale it. Thankfully she was able to get it out on her own pretty easily. But it did scare this mama. Overall I really liked this product and from the pictures you can tell Skittle did too.

I like everything about this from actual product to the packaging. my dog has always been weird about dental chews or rawhide or anything that requires excess chewing on. most dogs love things like that. Due to this quirk it has caused him some tooth issues. the excess chewing on something like this actually helps remove plaque and excess tartar off their teeth prolonged their dental hygiene. As soon as I opened these my dog came running over and jumping up to see what was in the bag! I let him smell one bar before putting it in his food dish. As I thought He didn't take to it, At first! I cut it up into 3rds and pretended it was a treat and that got him to chew on it! I don't know of he will keep to liking these or not! So my big boy is my pitty mix and the smaller gal we have is a grouchy chihuahua mix...she thinks she’s big and bad. She didn’t want to eat here for the longest but eventually caved and started chewin away. My big pitty boy had no qualms and nailed his chew immediately. Lasted him a decent amount of time and he loved it, but he loves everything. So far from what I am gaging is that these area hit. No sickness or anything either. Good design

For those reviews that complain these SOFT dental chews don't last long, remember that the ADA recommends humans brush their own teeth at least 2 minutes twice a day. It took my 11year old Schnauzer just under 6 minutes to get through one of these and that's honestly not a bad result considering how long it usually takes to battle him with an actual brush and paste (I rarely win). They're long enough for him to comfortably grip with his paws and the design really encourages him to use both sides of his jaw to chew. We're liking these so far.

Great treats for my Chihuahua

I wish they sold this package size in stores. My dog loves these and gets 1 or 2 per day. No stomach or bowel issues. I believe these do help prevent tartar built up, but not with her top canine’s. They primarily do well on her bottom and back teeth. They also do not smell odd or make a mess. Combining these along with enzyme teeth gel has helped keep her breath from stinking and overall good teeth and gum health

A few years ago I noticed my dogs teeth were starting to get thick build up on them so I went to the store to try that Greenies brand but as I went down the aisle this Whimzees product caught my eye (because it was made in Holland and I thought that was interesting) so I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did!PROS:-->All the tartar on his teeth is gone and stays gone every time I use this product. My dog loved them!

I received these as a free product for my honest review. My English Bulldog is extremely picky when it comes to treats & bones. I have tried plenty of other dental bones before and we ended up throwing them away because she wouldn't eat them. When I gave her these stix she loved them. She is also allergic to everything and these don't upset her stomach. I will be buying these for her.

Not good for puppies

I bought them for my puppy(Dachshund/Beagle Mix, eight weeks old) two weeks ago. Last week she started spitting up after she was chewing on one, Took her to the vet they thought she irritated her throat. Gave me a prescription to coat her throat (Carafate), I asked the tech to give it to her and immediately started to spit up the medication. She took her from me and told the vet. Ended up giving her fluids and shot of Cerenia to settle her stomach. Was sent home with Cerenia tablets and told to give it to her the next two days and continue to give her Carafate. Last night I was holding the Whimzee letting her chew and woke up this morning to her spitting clear flem. I had some of the Carafate left over and gave it to her. Threw out the bag this morning.

Perfect for my Pom

My young Pomeranian is a super chewer but also picky about what she chews. I was looking for something made with good ingredients and small enough to keep her entertained. The little Whimseez dental chews are absolutely her favorite! A small one keeps her busy for at least a couple of days, sometimes longer. I just gave her a larger dental Stix and she went right to it. I know this will become one of her favorite chew treats.
