I love this thing! It is super easy to use for streaming and the DAC sounds great. I really like the screen showing the album cover or VU meter. I have not tried the phono stage yet. Only downsides for me are that sometimes there is a lag when switching tracks and I wish there were more options for the display and standby screens. It sounds better than I expected and I highly recommend.

Purchased one of these last weekend. It is a superb bit of kit and sounds great through my little but mighty Fosi amp.Fairly straight forward set up . Took me a while to fathom it but the manual is good. The only time consuming task left is to rebuild my library with Spotify as iTunes wont stream . Thanks Apple .As usual , excellent service from Richer sounds .

I have a Cambridge CXN V2 in my main system (also purchased from Richer Sounds) but wanted something a bit cheaper for my second system so I bought the Wiim Ultra. It could easily fit into my main system. Its such good value and works really well. Very pleased and it goes without saying Richer Sounds were excellent as usual.

This was all I expected. Delighted to have fine tuning of my subwoofer from within the Wiim home app. I have full versatility between my flac files on my PC, attached USB 2GB HDD and Amazon Music in hi-res.
Received it 2 days ago, dead easy to set up for an old fossil like me! Sounds brilliant, enough inputs & outputs to connect anything you could ever wish for. Everything works flawlessly, I've had many different systems and quite often 'the app' lets what could be a good product down - but the app on the Ultra works brilliantly. The sound is very impressive for the price - great value for money, I think you would have to pay a lot more to get a better system.
I pre ordered this, I was called a few days before it was in stock to be asked if I still wanted it as it does not support airplay as advertised, I dont use Apple music so no issues for me:)This is my 3rd Wiim device, I've had a mini and pro, I like the software and that it's always having updates and new features, the Ultra was purchased to allow me to stream through my Arcam AVR20, which has a net input for this purpose that works really well when my I can reach it with my Android tablet and displays cover art and details of music quality etc, but it can prove to be fairly unreliable. The Ultra sounds great using its own dac or the dac in my amp, I cannot discern any difference between the 2, also I like that I can connect a usb stick in the rear to play my ... MoreI pre ordered this, I was called a few days before it was in stock to be asked if I still wanted it as it does not support airplay as advertised, I dont use Apple music so no issues for me:)This is my 3rd Wiim device, I've had a mini and pro, I like the software and that it's always having updates and new features, the Ultra was purchased to allow me to stream through my Arcam AVR20, which has a net input for this purpose that works really well when my I can reach it with my Android tablet and displays cover art and details of music quality etc, but it can prove to be fairly unreliable. The Ultra sounds great using its own dac or the dac in my amp, I cannot discern any difference between the 2, also I like that I can connect a usb stick in the rear to play my ripped cds, the diplay is a little small and I cannot read clearly the track into from 2.8m away, the album art is OK though.Overall its a great device.
Excellent service from Richer Sounds. I upgraded a WiiM Pro Plus to the Ultra within the exchange window and they couldn't have been more helpful or responsive. The WiiM Ultra is an extremely impressive and versatile addition to a high end HiFi system and replaces a NAS server. HD streamed music now equals the sound quality of the (former) FLAC stored files but with immediate access to an almost unlimited music library. In addition, USB input/output enables HD stored music to be played as well as being used concurrently to output everything (streamed/stored) to an external DAC (via a USB hub).
For the price you can't beat this Wiim Ultra streamer. I use it as a phono amp for my turntable and to stream music from tidal into my amp.The sound is clean and powerful, and with the built in equaliser you can adjust the sound to suit your speakers and room. The app also has room correction to automatically adjust the sound to suit your room.It has now certified by roon so can also be used with this service as well. It's a notable improvement from what I was using, a Yamaha WXAD-10 and the built in phono amp on the turntable.Very happy with this purchase
With the wiim music streamer quick setup up. It should of been but I Couldn't by the life Me get sound. Till I decide to Bluetooth Wiim to the receiver sound quality perfect, display great for the price .still very happy with it good bit of kitHelpful staff at branch
In an effort to simplify my hifi setup (previously a seperate Audiolabs pre-amp, Yamaha streamer and Rega phono preamp), I decided to give the Wiim Ultra a shot. After all, the reviews are all glowing right?Well, I'm glad I gave it a go.The WiiM sits in my system with a Rel T5X sub, Naim power amp, Epos ES14 speakers, Rega Planar 3 and a a Rega Planet CD player. As to my tastes, I've been playing around with mid priced HiFi for years and am principally looking for a balanced sysstem with proper bass and decent imaging. I think the WiiM ultra delivers this reallly well.I guess it's not a HiFi purists choic. There are no true analogue paths (everything is digital). I think the WiiM ultra delivers this reallly well.I guess it's not a HiFi purists choic. There are no true analogue paths (everything is digital). Even the phono path is digitised via a (decent) ADC, processed and then reconverted back to analogue. For some, this may be too much processing but, I have to say, in this product it works. The resultant availibility of EQ (on an input channel by channel basis), room correction and sub channel management, for me, means the impact of the ADC is worth it.When compared to my old system (simple analogue preamp) I could, being harsh, probably say that the accuracy of the soundstage is a wee bit compromised. It's just not quite as 'in focus'. If this is the presence of the ADC/DAC on the analogue paths I don't know but I think it's a fair description. On the other hand, the musicality of the output is fantastic. I'm not sure what it is but the sound is full bodied and just more engaging than the Audiolabs preamp managed. And that is before you get to the EQ and Room Correction.I took one attempt at Room Correction using the app on my phone and no fancy mics and immediately got a huge improvement. The speakers sort of dissapeared and the slightly 'shouty' personality that my system used to have (when turned up loud) is now gone. Switching RC on/off I really can't hear a downside to the result.Beyond that, getting the Rel sub to integrate with the system is soooo much easier with the tools on the app. I can finally get it to sit properly in the system with no nasty interactions with the main stereo pair or resonances anywhere in the room. So, I get a balanced, musical sounding system with proper bass and easy tailoring to my room with the only downside being, maybe, a slight degradation in the stereo imaging. Even this downside varies from song to song though as the other upside of the Room Correction is that all albums now sound great rather than some suiting my sytem better than others.I may not have the most expensive HiFi out there but I am very fussy about how it sounds. I have owned, and sold, too many different amps and speakers (all the way up to ATCs) and generally know pretty quickly if I'm going to get along with new gear. The WiiM has worked out great and just makes playing music either in a, rare, listening session or as background tunes far easier and more enjoyable. Very happy to recommend.
