The best I've had so far! I haven't found another brand to match Wild Planet's quality and sustainable practices. I eat a can of these almost everyday, sometimes two cans at one sitting. Wild Planet's sardines do not have a bad fishy taste or smell; less than most canned tuna in my opinion. I've tried a cheap brand of sardines ($1 per can from the local retail giant) and they were horrible! I've also had more expensive imported brands of sardines and I still prefer Wild Planet. If you are reluctantly trying sardines for the first time, start with Wild Planet. If you have trouble getting Wild Planet's down, chances are that you will like another brand even less. Also, sardines (and other small fish such as anchovies and herring) are much safer than tuna when it comes to mercury contamination. I've tried several different sardine recipes, though I still prefer these plain, right out of the can, with a little unbleached sea salt. I ordered two cases (12 cans per case) of Wild Planet sardines a month ago and I am placing an order for another two cases today. Before ordering a case of these, pick up a can from your local grocery store and give them a try.

I believe these are the Best sardines I’ve had. Wild caught in the North Pacific. One pack is perfect for lunch and definitely filling, excellent amount of natural omega three. Taste good! 18g protein and 1800mg omega 3 per can. Not expensive if you compare it to a lunch. You have so many options to combine them with! And they live in EXTRA VIRGIN olive olive

Those Sardines are simply fantastic. These little fish are full of rich and yummy flavor, with just the right touch of smokiness. The olive oil adds a tasty twist too. They're not too soft or too tough, just perfect. The easy-to-open can keeps everything fresh. I love that they're good for you, with Omega-3 fatty acids, and you can enjoy them in lots of ways – on their own, on salads, or in pasta. Whether you're a sardine pro or trying them for the first time, these sardines are a real winner!

For a quick lunch or snack, I often eat tinned sardines, herring, mackeral, etc. You can very quickly detect the quality that goes into these because of the extra virgin olive oil that they are packed (so much better-tasting than soybean oil). An added nuance is that the fish have been lightly smoked. This is one of those tinned fish that brings all my cats running up to me when I have them (but they are too high in sodium to feed to them). These are sourced from Thailand, but they have the sort of high quality ingredients you might expect from Spain or Portugal--such as extra virgin olive oil in which the fish are packed. We are regular sardine eaters and like the other brands we use, we bought this product fully expecting that we would open the can and fins smoked sardines encapsulated in olive oil, or some kind of oil. These cans are smoked sardines in water with a trace amount of olive oil. The texture of the sardines are like any other sardine in packed in water, lacking flavor, and not the tender fish we would expect from any other brand. We are disappointed, and we will never buy this brand again. We were already skeptical of the green-washed brand name, but now for certain, this brand has lost our trust. Forever.
Wild Planet Wild Caught Sardines in Extra Virgin Olive Oil offer top-quality seafood with rich, satisfying flavor. The sardines are tender and packed in premium olive oil, enhancing their taste while providing healthy fats. The convenient can is perfect for a quick, nutritious meal or snack. Priced reasonably, these sardines are a great value for those who want high-quality, sustainably sourced seafood. It’s a delicious and healthy option that’s ready whenever you are.
These sardines are so tasty. I do have a large stack of canned sardines because the size is small enough for a quick boost of protein whenever I need it and don’t feel like cooking. So I’ve tried many types of sardines, and these are just amazing. Very fresh and not too overwhelming and fishiness and the seasoning and the oil was just perfect. I like the long expiration date and the size which is perfect store.
I was looking into buying sardines that were fished consciously. Wild planet sardines are harvested in the North Pacific Ocean, working with well-managed fisheries in Japan that practice sustainable harvesting of targeted free-swimming schools of sardines. I like to have sardines with Extra virgin Olive oil in the composition. They are flavorful, delicious and taste rich, I prefer the extra virgin olive oil package than the water. It is however perfect for morning loaded breakfasts! Depending on the size of the sardines, sometimes you might end up with 2 sardines per package, be aware.
They are good quality fish, packaged nicely, always smell fresh, come in a good size, usually four robust fish. They taste amazing and are beneficial for so many reasons-- skin and brain health are my main uses. The flavor is not fishy or too much like seafood. It is a staple ingredient in my diet. The composition is unlike any other-- they are pretty fish and i love slurping the soft bones.
Sardines in Extra Virgin Olive Oil offer a nutritious and flavorful snack or meal addition. The sardines are tender and packed with omega-3s, while the rich, high-quality olive oil enhances their natural flavor without being overpowering. Perfect on their own or added to salads, pastas, or toast for a protein-rich, heart-healthy option. A great pantry staple for anyone who appreciates simple, wholesome ingredients.
