Good Points: In terms of filtration I'm sure it is an excellent performer. Power demands are modest - typically 9 W once the air is clean, even less in night mode. On the low setting there is an audible wooshing sound, but not too intrusive. In night mode it barely whispers. Higher levels of fan speed are more obvious, but in our household such speeds are not required for more than a few minutes if at all.Compared to alternatives I think the pricing is very fair (if you shop wisely) for a machine of this capability.Improvement Points: Styling is not well suited to the home environment. It looks like something better suited to a clinical/medical environment, and it is not small, so difficult to "conceal". In fact, finding a place to put it can be tricky when ... In fact, finding a place to put it can be tricky when balancing function with aesthetics.My biggest disappointment is that it never actually stops filtering when it is turned on. i.e. it never goes to "sleep", unlike my dehumidifier, which only bursts into life when humidity is too high. So, normally I turn it on and hit the one hour timer, which is sufficient to fully clean the air. I would much prefer it if on auto it could turn off completely and only resume filtering if and when air quality drops too far. Then I could leave it "on" 24x7 without a further thought. As it is it is up to me to decide when I need to turn it on.

Dusty, stuffy air soon gets purified, and it also detects odours. The Winix displays a colour depending on the air condition it has detected, even windy people, it detects and turns red and adjust its speed accordingly...The Winix Plasmawave looks very smart, does not look cheap or look out of place in our bungalow, and I would definitely recommend this Air Purifier to you...Only negative I have is due to its size, it doesn't have any easy lifting handles, it does have a hand hole in the back, but that makes it awkward to move its weight is not a problem for me, but I would like to see ...
