Awesome Oats. I love oats. It's healthy, wholesome and good. It is economical, priced right, filling and a must-have in the pantry. The Woolworths variety is good quality, fine, fresh and really worth every penny if you're an oats lover. I have bought many varieties before but this one is one of my preferred brands because of the great quality and I love the larger packaging too. Great tasting. I enjoy it with fruit in the morning and it just goes down well. I add it to biscuits, cakes and other recipes as fibre is so important for our digestive systems and I really recommend this oats to anyone out there. Try it, taste it and see how good it is...

Enormous pack at a great price. I have always enjoyed rolled oats ever since I was a kid. Back then we only had them in winter so I always looked forward to the cooler months so we could have them again. Now I'm an adult I can buy and eat them whenever I want so I always have some in the cupboard. As well as having them for the occasional breakfast I also use them in baking - bickies, slices etc. I hadn't seen this huge 1. 5kg pack before so I guess they are new. That weight for $2. 60 is a bargain. As for taste well unless they are flavoured oats all brands are pretty much the same so there's not much to comment about in that regard. I decided to make them according to the package directions - weights per serve. So that was 1/3 cup of oats to 2/3 cup of water (or ... MoreEnormous pack at a great price. So that was 1/3 cup of oats to 2/3 cup of water (or skim milk was also recommended on the pack - but they can be made to your own taste - full cream milk, non dairy etc). After adding the water to the dried oats I thought it really wasn't a huge serving - even though I know the oats soak up the water during cooking and expand a bit. I cooked mine in the microwave. I added some chopped apple, teaspoon of sugar and lite milk to bulk it all out a bit and ended up with a delicious and satisfying meal. The oats are 100% whole grain and grown on Australian Farms. The bag can be recycled by returning it to the store. I am very happy with these oats and recommend them. I will definitely be buying them again.

Great value. Great price. Good for porridge, better presoaked as a time saver. A bit lumpier and harder than I'm used to as I usually use finer cut oats for a quicker breakfast. Economical for cooking & baking. I'll try a slice recipe I think. A resealable bag would be helpful, although zip lock style seals are hard to pour from with products such as this. You get what you pay for. This bag style is cheap packaging so decant to a container for easier use and a fresher product once opened and it's fine. I'd buy for cooking especially for a larger family. Biscuits, muesli bars, slices, crumbles, meatloaf filler and binder. Just love versatile oats! Healthy too. Look on the bottom shelf for these great Aussie oats.

Love my oats -- but. I enjoy rolled oats for breakfast every morning, occasionally as porridge, more often soaked overnight in milk with some dates and spice - then eaten with delight ! I also use them in baking. But two stars for the following reasons. I can only give this product two stars because ...... -- this pack size has only recently been introduced at 'Colesworths'; and the unit price is less than the smaller pack, which, ( along with milk ) must be difficult for those on very limited incomes/budgets. These two items are basic foods, it seems wrong to vary the unit price. Interestingly, a few years ago the pack size reduced from 900 gm to 750 gm ( if my memory is correct ). Unfortunately, retailers and manufacturers have left the recycling up to the individual. There is very little interest in stocking products made from recycled plastic; there is apparently no encouragement to increase the range of products and market them accordingly. And 'Colesworths' are continuing to introduce more products wrapped in plastic ! I will consider buying my oats in bulk from the well-known bulk shop ( it has multiple branches ). Costly - but ?? ( I had obtained this item before the recycling concern ).

Australian Rolled Oats. A big 1. 5kg bag of Australian rolled oats for $2. 60 is great value. Grown on Australian farms, an excellent source of fibre and a 5 star health rating. I was also given a bag of Quick Oats recently and use them both in the same way - lots of Anzac biscuits and also a delicious oaty crumble on top of stewed fruit, usually apples but just as good on plums, rhubarb, berries etc. I use a cup each of oats, flour and brown sugar, with 1/2 teasp baking powder, 1 teasp cinnamon, a pinch of salt. All mixed together with 125g melted butter or margarine and spooned on top of the hot fruit. Baked for 1/2 hour. Of course, they are great simply as porridge too - only takes about 3 minutes boiled with water. Or if you like them creamier, I use light milk ... MoreAustralian Rolled Oats. Great value and versatile. Edit: Decided to try cooking straight from the packet, followed microwave directions. I was not impressed! It took 6 minutes to cook in a 1000w microwave and the oats were still chewy. I have attached pictures. I stand by my review but I don’t think they are suitable for microwave cooking. I love porridge but like the quick oats for ease of cooking. No problems, I just blitzed a serve in my thermomix before cooking. Also saved me when I ran out of dog biscuits. I put them in the dogs bowls covered with boiling water and left them to soak. They swelled up beautifully, then added milk to cool down and I had 4 very happy puppies. ‘Next on the list is to make some biscuits, apple crumble and oat slice

As good as the more expensive brands. Oats are something that are always in the cupboard for use in a myriad of different recipes. When I’m with my grandchildren I make a massive amount of porridge for everyone and usually use up a whole packet. I didn’t realise that there was a packet containing one and a half kilo so I will be buying this in future. Apart from porridge they can be soaked overnight in soy or normal milk and fruit to make a delicious Bircher muesli. Oats are great for reducing cholesterol, and losing weight. An extremely versatile and healthy product. Thanks Bunch for the sample.

My "go to" breakfast. Well, if you read my report on the Australian Quick Oats value pack a few weeks ago, you should be able to guess at my delight when I then received this offer!!Finished off my 750g Rolled Oats packet (that I had been buying for probably the last 5 years), then tried the new 1. 5kg one..... what a surprise.... it was just as good as the 750g one!! (Except a bigger bag, which is a good idea). This has been my "go to" breakfast for a long time .... rolled oats has a much nicer flavour than Quick Oats (and it's good for keeping your cholesterol down) .... and Woolies is nice & cheap, compared to other rolled oats brands. The 1. 5 kg one is now my new "go to".... and, YES, I will buy it again!! - DEFINITELY!!

Great value staple. I was lucky enough to get this as a limited release sample. It's a large packet which makes it great value for money. Oats really are a good staple to have for breakfast, they contain a range of vitamins and minerals as well as a good amount of protein and fibre. These aren't as processed as quick oats but are also not as good as steel cut oats. Being somewhere in between makes them pretty versatile. I'm not big on having breakfast a lot of the time, but we find these great for making overnight oats because they're pretty much ready to go in the morning no cooking required. Our basic version is to add milk, chia seeds and maybe psyllium husk for extra fibre, and usually some sweetness (honey) to taste before eating. In saying that they aren't too hard to cook, quick and easy in the microwave compared to the steel cut variety which is best done on stove top. A great value breakfast staple made from Australian Oats. I'm not sure if I would buy such a large pack, I will have to see how long it takes us to use up this quantity. But I would definitely buy Woolworths and Macro brand oats again in future.
