Not for us. Not had ginger ale before but gave it a go. I had it in a glass with ice but found it needed more ginger and less sugar. It has a mild ginger taste which wasn’t overpowering like I thought it might. My teens didn’t like it either. It contains 18. 8g sugar and 8mg sodium per 250 ml serve, that’s a bit much for my liking. The fizz factor was average but found that it went flat quickly. At the cost of $1, it is a good price for those who enjoy this sort of beverage, working out at 20c per serve. Contains a couple of preservatives as well and anyone who is allergic to sulphites should avoid this product. It has HSR of 1. 5, not sure it warrants that score but that’s my personal opinionPositives are it’s made in Australia from at least 99%Australian ... MoreNot for us. Both the bottle and lid are made of recyclable materials and can be deposited for 10c if you take them to the collection centres. This product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Ginger taste a little weak. I don't often buy soft drinks, but when I do it's usually ginger ale or ginger beer. That's why I was so excited when I got this sample, as I've never tried the Woolworths brand before. Nice hard plastic, nice shape, very easy to handle, good price ($1) for a generous 1. 25 litre. On the label it says "New recipe", but as I haven't tried the previous one, I can't compare. Just 1 star, probably due to the amount of sugar: 7. 5 grams per 100 grams. Checking online I found that my usual Schweppes contains 7. 6 grams, thus very similar. The Bundaberg ginger beer contains slightly more: 10. 6 grams. The amount of sodium in this Woolworths ginger ale is less than 5 mg per 100 grams, thus definitely less compared to Schweppes (17 mg) and ... MoreGinger taste a little weak. Not too sweet, fresh taste, it doesn't sting your tongue, pairs very well with a meal. I love to taste the ginger in my ginger ale, but it was quite weak in this product. I would prefer the taste to be a little stronger and more pungent, but it was absolutely a very refreshing drink. Very reasonable priced, that's why I could probably buy it again. Still a product to drink in moderation. Thank you so much for the sample!

Great mixer !! This product was found in the aisle with the other mixer drinks, not the soft drink aisle where I first looked ! Dry ginger ale is not something I would buy very often, although it always seems to settle an upset tummy. At 75 cents a bottle, this is good value compared to branded mixers. It was pleasing to read this is made in Australia with 99% of Australian ingredients. After chilling, when opened it had a slight fizz and a faint smell of ginger. It wasn't overly sweet, and kept the bubbles going throughout the drink. As I didn't have a queasy tummy, I mixed it with Southern Comfort, lots of ice and a slice of lemon. It was delicious !! I would recommend this product and thank Woolies and bunch for this sample

Not a Fan. Not really a fan of ginger ale and only ever buy to put in a punch when we entertain. However I did taste this to do the review. Also not really a fan of diet drinks knowing that the substitute used in place of sugar and natural sweeteners is artificial and some supposedly have concern links. Price is excellent and even better with 1. 25 litres instead of just a litre bottle. It's great that it's made in Australia from at least 99% Australian ingredients. It was also good to see the bottle was recyclable and that there were no artificial colours or flavours. It had good fizz when I opened it - there was a loud pop as the cap was removed but it wasn't overly bubbly as I drank it which I don't mind. I much prefer a more subtle bubbly taste than it appearing to go up my nose as I drink. I don't mind ginger but couldn't' really ascertain a ginger flavour, just a really strong indeterminate flavour. I didn't like the flavour, whatever it was or should be, and the aftertaste was very strong and hung around for a long time which also wasn't pleasant. I much prefer non-diet drinks so if I was buying dry ginger ale in the future to add to our punch I'd buy the regular one and not this diet one. I wouldn't buy it again for either a punch, as a mixer or to drink as is, so wouldn't recommend it. However I do see the advantage for diabetics who have to limit their sugar intake.

Good for mixing. This isn't something that I would normally purchase so I was interested to see what it would be like. It took me a while to find it at my local Woolworths, it didn't really stand out on the shelf. I had a glass of this by itself and then I had another glass where I mixed it with some alcohol. I found it a bit too sweet for my liking, however it was ok when mixed with some alcohol. It is Made in Australia from at least 99% Australian ingredients. I'm wondering what the 1% ingredient was and why that couldn't be Australian so this product was 100% Australian ingredients. 99% is pretty good though. As expected it had a low health star rating - 1. 5. I appreciate Bunch giving me the opportunity to sample this product.

Used it to cook with not drink. My mother would have liked this sample as she loved a brandy and dry after a long day at work, however dry ginger ale is not really my thing. I looked up on on line recipes to cook with Dry Ginger Ale. I found on an American cooking website a recipe for Pumpkin butter. Sounded interesting. Had to modify a bit as they used canned pumpkin puree (the mind boggles). I steamed 500g peeled and deseeded butternut pumpkin. Then added 1/4 - 1/3 cup dry ginger ale, 2 Tb water1Tb sugar1/4 tsp ground cloves1/2 teaspoon cinnamon1/4 tsp nutmeg. As per their suggestion I served it hot on toast topped some grilled short cut bacon and a poached egg. I also crumbled some goats cheese on top. Kids enjoyed it. I picked up this sample thinking the kids could try it. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners, so this sort of thing is not normally a product we would buy. They enjoyed it last night with a bbq dinner. They said it was really tasty and had a nice ginger flavour. They (of course) didn't have much else to say than that. I asked about the sweetness and they said it was 'good' (I guess you can read from that that it's not too sweet or tart??). They were happy with the size of the bottle, as it allowed them to have a few small glasses each. I was happy that the bottle is recyclable and that it has a good Aussie made rating. The health star rating, not surprisingly given the product, is not great - but I wouldn't really pay too much ... MoreKids enjoyed it. I picked up this sample thinking the kids could try it. The price point is very competitive for this type of product - so that's a definite win. Overall, it's probably a great product if you're looking for something sweet to enjoy without the natural sugars.

Refreshing drink, the opposite of Dry. Different drink flavours in this range are labelled with a relevant colour circle on the band - dark green seems to be the universal colour for ginger ale. There was a quick fizz when opening and a nice aroma. It had the sharp spicy zingy taste of ginger and the sweetness wasn't as obvious like regular soft drinks. The drink is orange-brown and the plastic bottle has a rippled texture which was handy when gripping from the fridge. We didn't mind ginger ale as a flavour and enjoyed trying this, but it's a flavour you either like or not. We tried as is from bottle but apparently also good as a mixer. Excellent value at 75c, it's easy to pick up your favourite flavours from the range.

Ginger Flavour not as Strong as the Non Diet One. To do this review I also bought the Non Diet One to see and do the taste difference. I found that both looked exactly the same in colour and when opening them they both gave the same welcome fizz sound But the strength of the Ginger flavour is weaker in the Diet one and the Diet one does have an after taste. On both bottles it states that it is a "New Recipe" The Diet one has the sweeteners 950 (Acesulphame potassium (Ace K) and 955 (Sucralose) for me the only sweetener that I would like to see is "Stevia" which is a natural one. So after all the taste testing...... guess what I did with mine??????Video Link HERE So yes, I used it to cook 2 Silversides in my slow cooker and it never fails me, this time around I added some bay leaves and a hand full of peppercorns, but I don't always do this. I cooked it for the 8 hours and it was melt in your mouth I served the Silverside with potato bake and broccoli so the Diet Dry Ginger Ale did a great job. So for me, due to the sweeteners that they use for the Diet Dry Ginger Ale..... I would not buy it, but I would and do buy the one without the sweeteners, especially when I want to cook Silverside..... great valueIf you don't mind the sweeteners that are used and a lighter Ginger flavour then this one is for you Last nights dinner with the Silverside cooked in the Diet Dry Ginger Ale Today we are enjoying the leftover Silverside on sandwiches

'DRY GINGER ALE'... WORTH CELEBRATING!! Having thoroughly enjoyed the Woollies ‘Lemon Flavoured’ soft drink previously, I looked forward to giving this new Woollies product: ‘Dry Ginger Ale’ my taste test, and although I enjoy the standard ‘Ginger Ale’ soft drink on occasions, I have by no means ever trialled the ‘DRY’ version. I will be returning for this ‘cool’ product in the future, and at the price of: $1. 00, one would be foolish to consider its more expensive competitors.
