Vietnamese Barramundi. Whilst I was grateful for receiving such a generous sample from Bunch (worth $19), I was disheartened that the Barramundi was from Vietnam. Australia has its own great Barramundi, and I do not see the requirement to import Vietnamese fish. Not sure that water in Vietnam is as clean as Australian water. What I did enjoy about this was the fact that the pack is resealable and contains 10 individually wrapped portions of fish. This is clever and makes it quick and easy. The flavour was not the best, I think that Australian Barramundi trumps this in the flavour department. Tender, delicious fish! Well what a delight this was! Normally I don’t choose Barramundi as it’s a little ‘fishy’ for me. However this changed my opinion completely! I thawed it over a rack and this took about 6 hours. When it thawed I sprinkled with a herb garlic seasoning and let it sit for an hour. I added olive oil and butter to the frypan, cooked on high heat for a few minutes, then turned heat off and squeezed fresh lemon and sprinkled parsley and this is what it looked like! It was sweet and flaky, the thicker bits were chunky and delicious. It was convenient but pieces were a little small. Also not a product of Australia. However as delicious as it was (my husbands word ‘magnificent’ I will definitely be buying this again and again! Thank you Bunch!

Good option. Of course fresh fish is best but this was a fairly good option for frozen Barramundi. The taste is mild, so it is ideal for those who don’t enjoy a strong fishy flavour. We pan fried it with herbed butter for a simple meal but I think it would be nice fried or in a curry too. They were a little small so I cooked two of the individually wrapped portions for hubby. The fish retained its form and didn’t break up when transferred to the plate or when flipped in the pan. Hubby said it tasted like fish from the fish n chip shop which I think is a good thing? It is not the best barramundi we’ve tasted but fine for a mid week meal. Next time I will try cooking it with a more flavoursome marinade or coated in stronger flavours.

Excellent, in the right kind of meal. I have mixed feelings about Barramundi. I have eaten it before and it was quite delicious, but other times it has been too fleshy and just..... wrong. But I cooked these fillets in a mild Malaysian-style coconut curry and they were great! The flavour of the sauce really complemented the slightly sweet flavour of the fish. The fish itself flaked up really well, but stayed really moist. So that combo was a winner for me. I am going to experiment more to see how else I can cook/eat this fish. Great sample, Bunch Team. It's given me some food for thought (pun intended ).
Nice Barramundi! These barramundi portions were quite good, they were fresh and of good quality especially for a frozen fish product. It came in simple and convenient packaging which was easy to open and prepare. I liked how the pieces were individually wrapped which made it easier to defrost and split up the portions for other meals. After pan frying, the taste of the fish pieces were quite nice. It had a good fishy flavour which was not too overpowering and the texture was nice to eat. At about $20. 00 for a 1kg pack, I feel that the price is reasonable given how fish is usually quite expensive. Thanks bunch for letting me try this sample. I may consider this as a backup alternative to fresh fish.
Nice. I love fish and my family do eat steamed whole barrramundi once a month. There were 10 individually packed fish fillets in a re-sealable bag. Absolutely love the packaging design. It keeps the fish fresh longer in freezer and very easy to control the serving size. There were six middle pieces and four tail pieces in the bag. All fish had skin attached. It looked still fresh and clean once defrosted. I cooked in an Asian way which used one of cooking pouch from Asian grocer. It tasted very nice. Price is reasonable and I would buy it again. Excellent product for a family who enjoy eating fish frequently.
A pleasant surprise. Thankyou Woolworths, had only ever had barramundi in a Resturant and really wasn’t fussed. I was pleasantly surprised that we enjoyed this barramundi. Loved the individual wrapped pieces. I made up a mix of garlic powered, dried dill, dried parsley and some plain flour, tossed it all in a bag with the fish to coat it, then we cooked it gently on the bbq in a mix of garlic butter and light olive oil. Served it at a family bbq and it was well received by most of us. Great for something different
Great Portion Sizes. It is so convenient to have the barramundi portions in the freezer, ready for when someone feels like eating it. I don't need to worry about having a whole fish to cook, when someone doesn't feel like eating it. I have pan fried them, but it does take a little longer (if you're in a hurry), since it needs to defrost. We love eating it steamed, as this is how we grew up eating it ourselves. The whole family loves it! The portion sizes are great, so you can choose to feed the perfect amount of people you are serving as well. This is a family favourite. We already purchased another pack! Thanks Bunch!
Surprisingly good. As a person that generally won’t eat fish, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this was - not too fishy. I battered the pieces in a crispy fish batter (one cup SR flour, 1/2 tspn salt and one cup soda water), then deep fried and served with homemade chips and salad. 9 year old said it was better than the one from the fish and chip shop and husband agreed! Even fussy daughter was impressed! Nice to receive a sample of something I’d normally not buy. Fish is expensive so I understand the cost- disappointed at the origin of the fish, but not deterred from buying again, given the family reaction and my own of course!!

WOW!We even took it camping and it lasted so well that there was a few left over, we had it two nights later when we were home and it was still fresh!!! (we kept it cold not frozen)We served it cooked very gently in vegetable soup for one meal. Then for another we gently fried it in butter garlic and a few other herbs nothing too strong or it would take away the beautiful flavour of the Barra. The texture was nice and firm not mushy like other fish that has been frozen. Anyways it's a winner for our family thanks Bunch! ... we've already bought more!!!
