Go to Garlic. This has been my 'go to' garlic for many years as I find it very convenient. It saves a lot of time and lasts a long time in the fridge. Garlic is Beneficial. I’ve grown up in a household where Garlic was used for lots of reasons by my mom. I believe Fresh Garlic also has health benefits. Presently, I do use garlic daily in my cooking especially the fresh one which I will crush but otherwise, when time is of the essence, this Woolworths Minced Garlic 250g comes in handy. Today I prepared a butter chicken curry dish for my colleagues at work and as I ran out of fresh garlic, this reward came in handy alongside other ingredients used. My colleagues loved this Spicey dish that was served with aromatic rice. Once again - THANKS for the reward Woolies. I will buy this item as needed.

I couldn't open the lid on this garlic so thankfully Mr FnT could assist and twist the lid while I held the jar!So the ingredients are Rehydrated Chinese Garlic (water and dried garlic) with an Acidity Regulator. As lovers of fresh Australian Garlic my review may be abit biased. We sprinkle it raw on our salads and meals every day as we love the flavour and because of the health benefits it provides and it's used in so much of my cooking. I didn't particularly like the smell of this jar garlic.... smelt rather acidic to me I spread a few dollops of it on our pizza base and spread it in with the pizza saucebefore loading the toppers on. The flavour of the garlic was there when eating our pizza. I will add some when making our Pork Rissoles this evening ... MoreMinced Garlic. The contents are very much the same, with potassium being added to this one. Neither are Australian products, though my usual one has ingredients from multiple origins and is packed in Australia, while this one is completely Chinese, packed for Woolworths. It is a larger jar too and says to use within thirty days, while the other doesn't have a deadline. I'm not sure how quickly I will go through it, so at this stage, don't know if I will buy it next time. It depends on how it works out. A long time staple. We have been using this product for a long time and will continue to buy, it has a low price, store in the fridge once opened, and very conveniently minced. We regularly add a couple of teaspoons to pasta sauces, stirfrys, sauteed veggies and more. I find the taste less intense than freshly crushed garlic cloves, but that's ok, I just add a bit more. Reading the jar, I saw that it can be stored in the fridge for 30 days once opened. I'm not sure if this is a new change, but I have definetly kept and used previous jars in the fridge for a lot longer than 30 days. I have removed 1 star for being a product of China. Would prefer Australian and would be happy to pay extra if needed.

Not good. The garlic didn't have much flavour, used it in a meatloaf and even though I added quite a bit, it wasn't strong enough. Smelled good in the jar but vary bland taste compared to others. Also a big no-no is that it is from China. I'm very disappointed that Woolworths doesn't sell any minced garlic that is not from China. China uses pesticides which are illegal in Australia, Chinese garlic is so polluted by chemicals and is contaminated by toxic heavy metals even arsenic, it shouldn't be legal here. I have a family member who ended up very sick in hospital after eating Chinese minced garlic (not cooked) from a supermarket (some years back). This is one product I will definitely not be buying again as long as it is made / product of China.

There’s the pungent smell of the garlic but not much taste of garlic which is disappointing. I used 1/2 to 1 teaspoon minced garlic from a jar when I needed one fresh garlic clove. The list of ingredients are simple and made of rehydrated garlic with no added salt, sugar and preservatives. Easily add to marinate, stir fry in place of fresh or powdered garlic. Though it’s oversea product and wish to see this sourced locally, it is affordable, handy to have in the fridge and time saving. Priced at $1. 25 for 250gm 4. 5 HSR Product of China (took 1 star off) Once opened, refridgerate and use within 30 days Ingredients - Rehydrated Garlic (99%), (Water, Dried Garlic), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid) Very long expiry date Once open the garlic smell was very strong. I used it in a stir fry and it was very flavoursome. I gave half the jar to my daughter in law to try and she added it to a thick pumpkin soup for her baby. It tasted delicious. This is a handy product to keep in the pantry if you haven't got fresh garlic. I personally prefer fresh garlic and would be happier using an Australian product. Thanks Bunch for this sample.

Convenient. Although this jar of Minced Garlic can be convenient, I much prefer freshly crushed garlic As you can see in the photo below it is very well minced and as soon as you open the jar there is no mistaking that it is garlic. I tried it out in an Asian type stir fry and it did add flavour but it is not as good as the fresh garlic that I would normally use. I also added some to a mince sauce that I poured over some pasta and it worked well. It is a product from China and I would love to see Aussie garlic used instead. There is no added salt and has a 4. 5 health star rating. For this 250g jar of Minced Garlic it will cost you only $1. 25, very cheap. I will keep on using freshly crushed garlic for my dishes.
