For the money there are the best speakers around they are similar to the DXR's without the price tag. The put out 130dB and have inbuilt limiters to protect the drivers and best of all they sound great. Many speakers these days are designed for DJ work and are bass heavy. Yamahas have a more even sound and work with all music types. So if you're looking at budget speakers like Beh*****s or Alt***s or similar spend a bit more and get a Yamaha DBR you won't regret it!!! For the price, this speaker is a great choice. The DBR10 has very bright & clear mid range when using the FOH/main DSP setting. This setting also has has some low end boost. I would recommend using the DBR10 paired with a Yamaha sub bass for a complete full range systemThe speaker cab is plastic and not as robust as DXR range. However, this is not a deal breaker. In reality it is lightweight , looks tidy and a low cost cover will stop scratches.I bought 6 of the DBR10 to use for background music at weddings. They do the job and more . The high pass filters were great for this purpose as it reduces unwanted low rumble and they performed brilliantly for vocal mic when used for speaches / ceremony.Would I recommend ? Yes . DBR10 is perfect for people wanting quality ... MoreFor the price, this speaker is a great choice. The DBR10 has very bright & clear mid range when using the FOH/main DSP setting. I was looking for a portable powered PA speaker to run through a mixing console so I could blend Backing tracks vocals and guitar through. When I was discussing what I was looking for with my Sales Engineer(Matt LaMarche) he said there wasn't much sound difference between the DBR10 and DBR12.. So I went with the 10's and couldn't be happier. First off I've been running my Line6 HD500X through an old school Pioneer Head Unit that Pushes Twin Akia Speakers which has a total power of 500W. The Yamaha Speakers take the sound and brings clarity with the FRFR, I set the gain to 0db on the speaker and OH the glorious stereo guitar effect sounds I've been missing when I pair two of the DBR10's together. Are they perfect.. Nope.. But Dang Close.. To make them perfect add a USB connection to the back for Phone connectivity with stereo linking when you connect two together. Why not bluetooth? Well Bluetooth doesn't charge your phone and sometimes Bluetooth drops out.

Great value. Great sound. Light weight. Just what I needed as an added floor monitor, now that I'm singing backing vocal while playing bass. Also a plus, is the ability to input and mix two different signals.
I had experience with using the 12 and 15 inch version of these speakers earlier this year with a band I was playing in, and when the need arose for my jazz duo to play an outdoor concert, I got a pair of these. I auditioned them at home for a week, and found the sound to be expansive, clear, and full-range. I used them for the first time this past weekend at an outdoor fund-raiser concert, and they performed magnificently. For once, vocals and my partner's trumpet were clear and cut through the mix. I ported my piano and my backing tracks thru it as well, and everything sounded balanced and clean. This allowed us to use my amp/powered speaker as a monitor, so we had the best of both worlds here. I cannot recommend these speakers enough. I cannot recommend these speakers enough. They are extremely lightweight given their quality, which is a must for me, and while they were not cheap, they are a great value, costing less than comparable speakers of other, famous brands. The other speakers I considered were heavier and just as expensive, and I doubt they would have sounded any better. And I am considering getting a third one of these to use as a floor wedge monitor for larger venues and larger bands. I'm happy with these and if you need a larger-sized speaker, the 12 and 15 inch variety are also a best bet.
The clarity and volume of this product far exceeded my expectations. I have put vocals, a keyboard and a horn through it for a jazz lounge gig and found it to be extremely clean sounding with no distortion. I push baselines with my keyboard and was concerned that the bass would be lacking but it wasn't..Sounds great at a moderate volume. Thanks Yamaha
Purchased this specifically as a floor monitor so I can hear myself and others sing in a 5 piece Dad Rock outfit. After much research, this unit, the Yamaha DBX10 and the QSC K10 kept coming up again and again. In the end, this unit met the power, weight, size, simplicity and price point I was looking for. Its less than 30 lbs and carries a strong warranty.I was extremely impressed with the sound of this as a vocal monitor. It was clear and the preset monitor eq setting was near perfect as far as I'm concerned. Plenty of headroom as I had it set to the center detent (0) on our last bar gig. I was suprised how loud I could run it with no feedback issues. I think the DBX10 and the K10 would be overkill in this application. This little speaker has no Bluetooth, no ... MorePurchased this specifically as a floor monitor so I can hear myself and others sing in a 5 piece Dad Rock outfit. (that I would never figure out or use anyway) Just plug and play. This was a plus for me but your needs may differ.
Great sounding speaker but as soon as you turn it up you notice the lack of warm bass from the 10 inch driver, you would need to use a sub. I already have the Yamaha Stagepas 600bt which has a warmer sound and more bass, the Stagepas doesn't need a sub in 95% of the venues, it always sounds spot on, whereas with the DBR10 you would have to use a sub 95% of the time. The only thing with the Stagepas is there is only 1 amp so if that failed you are stuffed and that is why I thought I would get a pair of these, nice and light, powerful, well built but the DBR are showing their age in comparison with what's around today, I would definitely class them as mid to high speakers not full range. So I will continue to use my Stagepas.
I purchased a second BR-10 to complete a PA system I use with a Fender guitar/Yamaha modeling amp combo. I get the sound I like and then let it rip. Clean, powerful and impressively responsive across the entire frequency range. Way more than enough for 1500 sq ft of audience (~200 people). Can switch to pure PA use without problems and nobody is going to gripe about this rig. Wish I had this setup when I started doing gigs.
I currently own a set of Mackie SRM 350 V3's, and I'm very happy with them. I'm a dj and I'm trying to downsize my system and make it more compact, but loud and not compromise the sound. So I've been using my Mackie's with my Yamaha DXS12 MKII sub, and it works great, but the spl's on the Mackie's we're insufficient for some of my larger venues. I decided to go with the DBR10's cause I've noticed the specs for the frequency response were close enough, but what caught my attention was the 129db max spl! So I bought a pair, great job on shipping time B&H, and once I hooked them up and began to crank them, I was blown away by the sound quality, but especially how loud and transparent they sounded! Compact, loud, but very clear! They can be used without a sub for small venues and rock them! With my Yamaha sub, forget about it! They are a perfect match, and they all fit in my trunk! I highly recommend them!
