Yamaha - DTX6K-X Electronic Drum Kit

Received my set for Christmas and I am very happy. The sound is great and I love all the inputs. I am a recording artist and this set has been great for recording. It fits well in my space and I would definitely recommend this set for any skill level. Only thing I wish it had was a pedal. I had to purchase that separately. Otherwise I would give if five instead of four stars.

Set feels solid. Excited to hear all the sounds and play with features.

The DTX-PRO module is a beautiful work of art in my opinion, and unbeatable at this price point and probably beyond. Rubber pads? Come on Yamaha - time for a new marketing team. A better pitch would have been all textured silicon pads - the 10" snare and 8" toms, they feel and respond great. Market your point of difference better, and charge more of a premium. 10, minus a point for rubber and a point for scaredy cat marketing.

Yamaha has the best sound in this module. Set plays and sounds very natural, even the rubber toms.Snare is something special and I love it!Nice and compact.

Very Disappointed

Overall:I have alot of experience with alesis, roland, & yamaha kits so I am well versed on being able to adjust pad sensitivity and crosstalk in within module settings. I had this kit for 3 weeks and i could not manipulate any combination of settings to where it stopped having cross talk between the toms and the cymbals.It's standard practice for me to customize the ride on my electric kits to ensure there is a distinct bell, bow, and edge and it was just impossible to do this effectively without the precense of some strange dull "pong/pang" type sound that surfaced out of the ride bow that should have had a nice clear stick defined sound. I was able to return the kit....thankfully because for such a simple kit this is way too pricey especially for what I experienced. I would hands down recommend any price tier of roland or alesis over this kit.I went back to my trusty roland td-11 and even though the module is much older the sounds, adjustability, and ability to resist crosstalk is 10 to 1 better than the dtx. Thanks to zZounds for their quick response in getting me a return label to send this back.
