Kept ice for 3 days in our camper! On our first camping trip with the new Yeti I chilled the cooler down inside the night before then I put it inside the camper with 2- 2LB Yeti Ice on the bottom. I loaded it with 24 bottled beers laying them down. I used 20 LBs of ice on top of the beer. On the third day most of the ice had melted but the beer that was left was still cold. I drained the water and still had some ice left! This cooler rolls so easy. It is well balanced when using the telescopic handle it is easy to control and turn. Once we get to the boat the molded handles are very smooth and comfortable when I have to lift it. It is heavy loaded so I get someone to help.We load it with several bottled beers, bottled water and still have enough room to put food in the plastic basket. I was skeptical because I had a cooler with wheels years ago that did not work good. This cooler exceeds my expectations.

So now the excitement is ruined and I have had to hassle with buying new shipping box which cost me and running it up to UPS and now I am waiting on a replacement which has not been shipped out yet even though YETI has confirmed they have received the return a couple of days ago . So thats why it gets a one star, more for YETI than the actual cooler because I still dont have the cooler.

Add beverage cans, and then top with two 2lb. packs. The advantage of using the 2 lb packs on top is that one can be removed so the cooloer can house a wine bottle. There is also a lexan insert that can be placed on the top ridge that allows for food storage. I hate to say it, but I’ve decided to return it. I really really wanted to like this little guy but beyond the color I struggle to find its positives. My first time using it it tipped over while driving on some forest service roads. I didn’t think much of it tipping over cause it’s a Yeti, right? Once I stopped I saw the latches had flipped up in the process, so the lid was open and water was everywhere. Water, not ice. After less than 24 hours there was no ice in the cooler. My fault for not securing the cooler, but the it’s taller than it is wide so if it isn’t full, it’s top heavy and can and will fall over. After less than 24 hours there was no ice in the cooler. My fault for not securing the cooler, but the it’s taller than it is wide so if it isn’t full, it’s top heavy and can and will fall over. The nylon carrying strap seamed appealing but it’s not long enough to go over the shoulder and is awkwardly long to carry in one hand without it hitting the ground (I’m 5’9” with lanky arms). That said, it’s a fairly heavy cooler even when it’s empty let alone full of beer and ice. So carrying it with the strap in one hand does take a decent amount of effort. There are notches for handheld grip on each side so you can carry it with two hands, however they are awkwardly shallow which again makes it tough to get a good grip and carry when full. I’ve had a sour taste about it ever since it spilled and admittedly have probably been searching for faults, but I’ve had it for a couple months since and it has yet to earn any redemption points. There is less room than you think. No drain plug. Doesn’t keep ice over night. It’s awkward to carry. Latches are not secure. It’s a sweet looking cooler but for myself I wouldn’t consider it a functional option. Especially for the price. Seems you’re paying about 50 bucks for an average quality cooler, and about 200 for the logo on the front. Don’t get me wrong I love Yeti’s larger coolers! They are well designed and the ice will literally last for a week. I wish I could say I had the same experience with the Roadie cooler but for me it ended up being a big pain in the neck all around. Going to look into some other brands for this size cooler. And some all weather floor mats. Thanks for sticking around for my rant. One star for its appearance, and one stay cause it did keep my food and drinks cold. Just wouldn’t consider this particular model a top tier product.
I purchased the Roadie 32 Wheeled Cooler with the accessories of the Wheeled Cooler Divider, two Yeti Ice Packs and the Wheeled Cooler Cup Caddy as a Father's Day present. We have the Tundra Haul Wheeled Cooler, which has been amazing, however, I was looking for something smaller for day trips and would be easier carrying onto a fishing boat. A dry goods basket comes with the cooler and is perfect for keeping sandwiches dry. As with all Yeti products it keeps food and beverages perfectly cold. The Wheeled Cooler Cup Caddy is perfect for placing drinks. I love the features of the periscope handle, wheels and enough storage capacity for bottles of wine and beer. Yeti products will never disappoint, especially this cooler. Perfect!
I have owned many Yeti coolers and many of the competitors products. In the last 3 years I have spent over 200 days in the mountain west, living on the road, traveling and doing construction work at remote job sites. I use a 12 VDC compressor driven refrigerator to keep my food fresh for a typical 9 day cycle but I have struggled to find a solution that enables cold beverages to be served over the full 9 days. That is, until I purchased this Roadie 60. My system; I have a food cooler that is electrically chilled, a normal sized Yeti that keeps my beverages cool, and the Roadie 60 that I reserve as my ice chest. As I leave town I purchase 40 lbs of ice and 2 lbs of dry ice to place in my pre chilled Roadie. I wrap the thing in old blankets and don't open it until the end of day 5 when I move the ice into the beverage cooler. With other brands and other versions of Yeti's, I normally get a soupy mixture of ice and water. With the Roadie I have a solid chuck of ice! I am not sure if they have changed how they manufacture this cooler or if it is the particular size and shape of this design, but it far surpasses the thermal performance I have experienced with other designs. I can flat out say, this cooler has outstanding thermal performance. Its pricey. Its big. It works!Since any cooler works best when its kept full don't but this big cooler if you don't have the volume to need it. For me its a great design that's easy to clean, easy to move, and it keeps the ice!
This is obviously top quality. Perfect size for car trips and you don’t have to worry about any accidental leakage in car because it doesn’t have a drain (so it’s actually a plus and intentional). Also great size for the beach, fishing, going to a bbq or tailgating. Can also keep in your car for bringing home frozen food in warm weather, but you’d have to remember to bring your frozen yeti ice so it can cool off the Roadie a bit before adding frozen food (you need to pre cool for it to really work) or just pick up a bag of ice while at the store. I’m looking forward to using it. Moosejaw offered such a great discount (20% off full priced item) that made it even more worth it. It arrived in the box Yeti packages it in with a label that says that it’s a Roadie 24 and has a matching color swatch. This is so much better than just shipping the cooler in a generic shipping box or buying at the store without a box because it fits the Roadie perfectly (even had hand holes in the right spot). So I recommend keeping the box (don’t tear it open when it arrives) so you can store it on a shelf in your garage to keep it clean from dust but still be able to know what’s inside. Only cons are the weight (but it’s the extra weight that insulates it so well) and the length of the strap only allows to carry by hand (not shoulder length).
First, we have a lot of Yeti products, and we have been investing into Yeti well over a decade. Yeti products simply work as designed. So, when I recently needed to upgrade my Yeti 65, based on our needs e.g., how we use the cooler, to an easier product to load/manage and go, it was easy to pick the Roadie 48 wheeled cooler. It’s another GOOD product by Yeti and the design is outstanding. I do wish it was an inch shorter just because the hard retractable tonneau cover over my truck bed (F-150) makes ever so slight contact when closing the cover but that’s easily overcome by simply laying the 48 on it’s back during transport or placing in a location other than the truck bed. I compared the Roadie 48 primarily to the Dometic electric cooler which is another really good product but our use simply couldn’t optimize the investment into an electric option (plus a Yeti never fails to operate and or use ranges under 72 hours which the Yeti achieves in keeping everything cool/fresh). Truth is, the Roadie 48 is so good in design e.g., capacity, quality, ease of use achieved in being wheeled, etc., that it was an easy decision. It’s our best Yeti cooler to date. Worth the BIG bucks? Yes, we believe it is, and not because we’re hoping to justify why (LOL) “we” spent the cooler BIG bucks but because it’s really a great product e.g., no regrets. By the way, love the Yeti drink cup, dry storage and internal divider accessories for the 48; they immediately enhanced use of the cooler. Thanks, Team Yeti - keep innovating!
We purchased the wheeled cooler for my husband as a gift from the Yeti website. We got it home and realized it’s too big. We called customer service to exchange the item however were told that without the original box that the cooler came in there was nothing Yeti could do. I had no idea that we would need to keep the box. You don’t know heat you don’t know. I’m struggling with how popular Yeti is that this is the case. No exchange, period. No availability to take it to a Yeti retailer to exchange. Who doesn’t exchange these days? The lack of customer care made me regret purchasing from Yeti and seriously contemplating not purchasing from Yeti again. bought it for the height and being able to fit tall bottles upright. The rounded edges and the inverted taper has its cons and pros , it makes the cooler smaller than it looks and it can squeeze into tight spots, but its top heavy. It has rubber grips on the bottom, but they grip so well it falls over instead of sliding. I am NOT impressed with its insulating capability. With wireless thermometers inside in comparison to a cheap old coleman, they both registered the same temps with only a slight difference in the rise between the ambient and internal temperatures. If you fill a coleman with as much ice as they recommend, it will last just as long. One thing that is noticeable is that the roadie will get cold to the touch meaning that it is transferring the cold absorption through the insulation.. Which means when its hot outside, its also passing the heat through. The latches are junk and always open on tip over, the handle is bulky with a mind of its own, flipping every which way but up, so you can grab it easily..no, if you let go, it flops down like a flimsy rope handle despite being made from a substantially thick plastic bail.
