I have been camping my whole life and finally got a yeti cooler. It is totally worth it. Besides it staying cooler longer- I love the latches to close it and the shape of the inside. The latches seem like they might wear out with use but they are amazing. I no longer get paranoid that someone didn’t shut the cooler correctly and it’s heating up. The rope handles seem like an odd choice but I’ve had plenty of plastic handles break off coolers as well so I wouldn’t say it’s a negative. The other thing I love is the interior. I’m not sure what it is about it but for me it just feels easier to pack efficiently. It’s easy to pack into our car (it is heavier but nothing crazy), it’s sturdy, I love the variety of colors so it’s not such an eye sore on our campsite. If you need a cooler for a weekend camping trip, birthday party at a park, there are better lighter, cheaper choices. If you purchase this cooler have your partner pick it up and note the cumbersome weight when empty. For most people this is a two person haul when filled with ice/packs and provisions. The interior of the yeti coolers is small due to the thick insulation walls, remember you have to put ice in the cooler as well. The cooler is sturdy. Heavy expensive cooler
8 November 2023

Good solid cooler. Very heavy while empty. Consider the weight with your foodstuffs, drinks, ANDice. Sometimes need two people to carry. Confirm interior space, the insulation is quite thick, minimizing storage. You must pre-cool prior to use, or is NOT effective. This expensive cooler is geared to those who need the ice to last for days. If you are using a cooler for a one or two day trip, this is not a good choice. There are many lighter, cheaper coolers that will keep all your food/drinks cold days, without spending hundreds of dollars

Honest review of the Tundra 45
17 January 2023

Honest review! Great cooler! First, I gave this cooler 4 stars because I took into account the price and the overall internal size. PROS: The build quality is great; robust, sturdy and well made. Doubles as a great seat. Gasket around the lids seal the internal tempurature of the cooler. It has rubber under the cooler to keep it from sliding in the trunk of the SUV. Easy to open and close with the rubber latches (with a packed trunk doesn’t need much space to unlatch) CONS: Big cooler, small internal compartment (the walls of the cooler is thick). Price: Compared to what is out there, it’s expensive but then again it’s a Yeti. Branding is everything. If it’s on sale.... GET IT! usually excluded from sales on other websites and stores. Aside from that, Im happy with my purchase.

I am sold!
7 August 2024

I was a bit skeptical about paying $300 dollars for a cooler but I pleased to say it was worth it! My Yetti 45 (in Orange) performed exactly as specified. I purchased in for a recent trip from SC to update NY (two days travel). When we arrived, the cooler was still ice cold. This made our lives so much easier in that we were able to pack awesome food for the trip rather than having to worry about stopping of. Once in NY I filled it with beverages and the same. Everything stayed ice cold for days. I did not use ice, I cycled out freezer packs. Worth every penny.

Leaky drain and poor service

Zero service after the sale! The drain design on this cooler is not good. It leaked all over the bed (on our FL vacation). Two of their dealers in Key Largo are happy to sell you a new one Ace hardware in Tavernier + West Marine in Key Largo, but Yeti doesn't require or give them $6 dollar @ retail spare drain plugs.Ironically West hides all their plugs because they get stolen, (per the cashier).Given there is no longer critical thinking in retail, they likely will never understand that people are taking them likely because theirs likely leaks. Stealing sucks but why else would someone want a proprietary plug?I called their 800#. The part is 6 bucks with 10 dollar shipping. Won't help on this vacation as our car is 50 miles away, (travel by boat). Would have been nice if the yeti rep sensed our urgency, but he defended Yeti and blamed the retailers for not stocking plugs.Pretty obvious this company is now run by bean counters who have never camped, or needed a part in a pinch where ordering and shipping online wouldn't work. Funny since their literature shows products being used in the wild rugged outdoors. Why a retailer would not be required or given a handful of 6 dollar parts for a 500 cooler is beyond me.Frustrated in FL. Love the product but their service is poor and sadly disappointing for such an expensive purchase

My first and last Yeti cooler
9 August 2024

I received this quickly in the original factory bag/box, good job LL Bean. The overall build quality and materials are nice, my issues are with the QC. There are marks all over the cooler (example of one in pic included), plastic bits from the drain hole still inside, even the Yeti sticker on front is slightly crooked. I know these are all cosmetic and won't affect function but for the price these should arrive pristine. I'm not going to spend the time/money to do an exchange since it will probably look like that after a few uses anyway, but I expect expensive new things to be new when I get them regardless of what use will do. I have around 20 Yeti ramblers and cups and they're great, I held off buying a Yeti cooler due to price, next time I'll go with a less ... MoreI received this quickly in the original factory bag/box, good job LL Bean. Yeti for the Win!
13 August 2024

I always bring a cooler with me when I go grocery shopping. The one that I had wasn't cutting it, my refrigerated and frozen items would be defrosted by the time I made it home. I've been wanting a well insulated cooler, and I finally took the plunge! I've used my Yeti a few times (with the right mix of ice) and it keeps my stuff cold! The negatives so far are: it is kind of heavy where I have to empty the contents vs. bringing the entire cooler with its contents inside my house. I also drive a sedan and with the Yeti in my trunk, there's not much clearance to open the lid. I have to pull the Yeti at least half way out to load it. It's kind of awkward and not ideal.
