Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum Spray 30ml

I’ve been trying to find a new signature scent for a while now, and have had several fails and false starts. I’m approaching 32 and my past favorites were feeling a bit too young and sweet for my taste now. In the past I’ve loved YSL Mon Paris, Versace Bright Crystal, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, Burberry Brit, Nest Indigo, Replica Jazz Club, JM Sea Salt & Sage, etc. I always lean towards the fresher & spicier side of things and can’t do things that are too floral or sweet. One struggle I have with certain scents I love otherwise (JM Sea Salt & Sage, Nest Indigo, Replica (any of their fragrances)) is that they don’t have enough staying power. Luckily for me I finally caved and bought this on a somewhat blind buy whim. I tried it in the store several years ago when it came out, and remember not being totally taken with it, but figured I would give it another shot. I’m SO glad I did. It’s the perfect mix of sweetness, spice & a hint of floral. It evokes BBE and gives you the sense of feeling put together, even if you’re just wearing sweats, but isn’t too overwhelming. Warm enough to be appropriate for night and fall/winter, but with enough cologne type freshness for spring/summer and daytime wear this is exactly what I was looking for in terms of flexibility with a new signature scent. I was worried that with this being such a popular scent I would blend in with the crowd of people wearing it, but it truly works with your unique body chemistry in such a way that the dry down smells different on each person who wears it. Recommend for 25+ as it is a bit more mature. The one note I would make is be cautious of over-spraying at first if you’re used to working with lighter scents (totally my mistake upon breaking it out). If you’re on the fence take the plunge!

Warm, Sweet, Long-lasting Fragrance! Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2021 I rarely write reviews but this fragrance is worth it. This scent has a lot of dimension to it. It’s also worth noting, that this is not a fake. It is the real thing. It smells sweet and warm, but not sickly sweet. I can detect the vanilla and caramel, but it’s not an overpowering gourmand blast. It’s worth mentioning that vanilla is used in aromatherapy for calming the nerves and this scent is definitely warm, sensual, and calming at the same time. Again, this scent has a lot of dimension to it! I sampled the fragrance right after I picked it up from my local Amazon Hub locker. I sprayed it on my wrists. Lavender is one of my least favorite scents and yet I REALLY love this perfume. To me, this perfume is fresh and clean but unique at the same time. It's just classy. The lavender is balanced out so well with the citrus and vanilla. This is the kind of perfume you wear to a job interview or something where you want to smell nice but you don't want to choke other people with your fragrance. Sadly, that's the reason why it looses a star for me... I LOVE everything about how this perfume smells, I just really wish it wasn't a skin scent and would project more (esp for an EDP... I expected longer wear and more projection but I have to reapply every 3-4 hours to get the strength I want). Sadly the intense version just isn't the same so it's this or nothing. The main notes are white floral, vanilla and lavender etc. These can be l mature notes for some people, and it does smell differently in the bottle or on a tester stick. A person's unique body chemistry primarily explains why Libre may smell different from one to another. Smelling it and spraying it onto my wrist compared to wearing it was a completely different experience. The bottle itself is luxury and you’re guaranteed to get compliments wearing this scent. The longevity for the price point is worth it. I would recommend trying it out in the store, walking around a bit and seeing how it mixes with your chemistry. In the rare moments where there would be a break between testing, I’d get a little breath of Libre that I’d sprayed on at 7:00 in the morning. It was calming, gave me a feeling that the world would somehow keep moving forward in spite of this virus that was creating havoc in the world. A Sensual, Elegant Fragrance. (My new signature!)

Whoever formulated this perfume is a genius. It is a totally original and feminine formula that grabs your attention—but does not command the room. Excellent silage, and has staying power (which is important to me… how can anyone justify a 100$ purchase otherwise). The first notes that hit me are orange blossom, black currant, and lavender. Which is so, so, so elegant and uplifting. I love how some perfumes play into a “lightness” or “darkness” palette, but Libre is dynamic for BOTH. It may skew slightly towards a richness with the ambergris base note. So perhaps it’s technically best for autumn and winter. But it’s totally appropriate for year round. I've been wearing a classic scent for decades - the same one my mom wore! And I still love it - but a couple months ago, a grateful client sent me a box of stuff she got from work and one of those things was a small tester bottle of Libre. I took it with me on a cruise rather than the big bottle of my usual scent - and two people actually asked me what I was wearing! Not in a bad "Wow, you're wearing way too much of that" way, but you know when someone walks past you and a second later you catch the scent? That's what this does. And then the people you passed are turning around trying to figure out who it was that smelled like that! It's not too flowery or too musky, and can be classy or casual. Simultaneously Unique & Classic

I am an avid perfume and "fluid phase changer" 25 year old girl. This has been my favorite for just under 2 consecutive years straight- and that says a lot. Slightly complex, 8.8/10 lasting power, extravagant; subtly strong, smooth and deep in its well-claimed notes. So if you're feeling extra zesty or want to use 1 extra spritz than you normally do; say perhaps because you're going out in hot humid weather- chances are you won't smell overpowering if you enter a cool dry room 30 minutes later. I think this is a very flattering fragrance that can be worn by a middle to older aged person or by a younger person, regardless of gender. Though this fragrance upon immediate whiff is reminiscent of my grandmothers fave perfume, when dried down it smells like a modern take on my grandmothers favorite. When I think of this fragrance I imagine a person drinking a sweet chai latte in a luxury store, at the in between of the mens and womens perfume section. I wear this in the day but this is definitely a night time, cold cloudy weather, wearing a black blazer or tuxedo with mascara type of a perfume.
