I purchased this rice cooker as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I’ve had a Zojirushi rice cooker in my kitchen since she was a child and thought, now that she has a family of her own, it would be the perfect gift. Unfortunately it’s not the quality they use to be. Every pot of rice cooked so far has been brown on the bottom. I’ve never experienced that with mine. I suggested that she reach out to customer support to see if anyone else had this issue or to see what could be done. She received a reply telling her she isn’t washing rice correctly. Interesting since we have never had this issue with my Zojirushi. When she did replied that she did, in fact, rinse her rice multiple times, they did not respond. This is my 3rd zoji rice cooker purchase. I bought 1 for myself about 10 years ago, loved it so much I bought another as a gift for mom, and now just purchased a new model for myself. The settings are easy to use and rice comes out great with no effort at all. Dirt easy to use.My old one is still working fine after 10 years, but the pot is a bit scratched up. I could easily have purchased a new pot (the thing you put rice in, dunno what the actual term is) but I just passed the old one on and got myself a new one. Mentioning this to make it clear I think the zoji rice cookers can def last >10 years, maybe 15 years?Anyways, I'm happy with my purchase. My new zoji and me will be hanging out together for the next 10 years at least.

This product is superior and I've always wanted one!! This Umami rice Cooker and warmer is the best to own,because it's versatile. It comes with the cooker, that has an inner cooking pan, detachable and washable inner lid, a steaming basket, a spatula and spatula holder, and a measuring cup. It makes up to 5.5 cups at a time. Easy to read and use LCD control panel with clock and delay timer. A detachable power cord. Instructions manual. Prepares perfectly cooked rice. Menu settings for cooking a variety of rices. I make alot of jasime, brown and long grain rices. It has a warming feature. It has a slow cooker mode. I can steam my veggies too! A total of 13 functions. One helpful tip: soak your rice first,that way it won't scratch the non-stick coating.

Takes longer, but steams the rice to perfection while self-adjusting to provide the best results.One may use this cooker for other functions as well, such as steamed vegetables, etc. If you desire excellent results each and every time, this is the one.
Zojirushi Umami Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer makes perfect rice. The rice is a fluffy and the perfect consistency without being sticky. The inner cooking pan can be removed for cleaning and it’s coating makes cleaning easy. It has a easy to read LCD Control Panel which includes a timer. The quick guide instructions are easy to follow and you will be cooking in just minutes. The cooker includes a very thorough instruction manual which includes delicious recipes. It can also be used as a slow cooker or warmer. You will enjoy using this versatile rice cooker.
Never spent this much on rice a cooker, that being said, after tasting the rice and seeing how consistent all the rice is I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Does take twice the time than a regular cooker, but well worth the wait. Makes my meal prep much easier and also tastier than using my stovetop and having to monitor that. Set and forget with this and it keeps warm for a long time. Have yet to try the Umami setting. Cooks amazing brown rice, white rice, basmati, jasmine & even oatmeal. Try to wait for a sale if possible for better value.
I love this Umami Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer. It is totally new to me and I want to experiment with foods other than rice. By following the directions you can get a wonderful cooked rice very quickly depending on the type of rice you want to cook. I did mine for a serving for two people with my measuring cup that was included and the amount cooked was just right. With the cooking bowl being teflon the clean up is a breeze. I have also started washing my rice since receiving this cooker. I never did that before, but will from now on as specified in the directions. Very pleased with this rice cooker.
I am absolutely in love with my new rice cooker. first of all it might look big on the picture but it is actually of a decent size, small enough to fit in my tight cabinet. It has so many features, love how you can just set up what type of rice you are using and it adds the cooking time for you and the rice comes out perfect. comes with a measuring cup, which you should not loose because it is what you need to measure the water. also comes with a spatula and a spatula holder that you attach to the side of it. it can warm up the rice for you and do other things. I am impressed. Love it. i didnt know it would be this easy to prepare rice.
