I ordered this for my ball python tank to help keep up his humidity. This helps so much!! The instructions could be a little better as I did struggle to get it to work at first but once I squeezed the bottle a couple times the red light turns green and then starts running. So if you had the same issue as me there's your answer lol. I just ordered another one for my frog tank and can't wait to get it. I HIGHLY recommend this!! Especially if you're going out of town and need extra humidity help or if you just can't keep your humidity up.

We have just repurchased this fogger. The 1st one lasted about a year and a half, and was still running strong until we accidentally broke a part. We never spent the money to use distilled water only(we just used tap water), so we did encounter some hard water build up inside the machine. The buildup cleans out easily, and never seemed to hinder the functionality of the fogger. Overall, an excellent machine for maintaining humidity for our ball python. Plus, he always loves to hang out in the fog, sometimes right under the fog tube, which is very cute.

The mechanism is small and not as awful as others deem it to be. But it certainly does its job; produce humidity. I’ve had mine for a couple weeks and my humidity levels are finally at the correct percentage for my box turtle. The mechanism stops itself if water is not passing through the reservoir so it doesn’t burn out. If the bottle is full of water but the machine light is red, just give the bottle a couple squeezes and it reproduces steam once again and it makes the light go from red to green. Overall it was easy to assemble, refill the bottle and turn on/off. Yes, I am using Distilled water!!!!!!!! That’s a big one if you want the fogger to last you a longer period of time!

I've had it for a little over a week and its working well for what its supposed to do and what I need. Problems I've had: There is a loose mechanism inside of the machine that sometimes creates a really loud buzzing sound. I've mostly kept this at bay with a little jolt when it starts. Doesn't happen too often. And it produces fog so well but there is a tremendous amount of condensation that builds up in the tube and then drips down into the tank. It was completely saturating my substrate. I moved the water dish under to catch it. In hoping when I switch to a bigger tank this might not happen as often , we will see. Other than that it does the job. I use only distilled water and have it set on a timer so its not constantly running. It does use quite a bit of water ... MoreI've had it for a little over a week and its working well for what its supposed to do and what I need. I bought this device last year for my tortoise. He's a tropical species and needs humidity. I liked this one since it had the hose which would pump directly into his pen, instead of me trying to rig something up. After a month or two, it crapped out and I contacted Chewy who promptly sent me another one.The second one worked for a few months. And then it suddenly up and quit. So now I'm on the hunt for another humidifier- one that will last for more than a few months- and how to rig it for my Deryn. Which is apparently what I should have done in the first place.Do not waste your time or money with this device. Go buy a human humidifier and get something that will actually perform as you want it to.
The person at this Petco location told me that the Zoo Med Repti Fogger would provide enough humidity for the 20-gallon tank I have. First of all, the hydrometer in the tank only showed a 45% humidity top (way too low humidity for a hermit crab), and secondly, the Zoo Med Repti Fogger stopped working a few hours after bringing it home. I hope my hermit crabs don't get too stressed and die. I wish the women at Petco knew a little more about hermit crabs (although she said she did). I am not happy about this, especially since I have so little time, and now I have to drive over to that pet store again ... Why don't these department stores train their employees better?
Follow-up review here...PetCo has been absolutely phenomenal!!! PetCo exchanged our 4 month old fogger with a new one...which didn't last 15 days before the fan began to fail. It is possible to purchase extra fans which are easy to replace; 7 screws total. Unfortunately, at $4 per fan (plus S&H) it becomes a very expensive tool to maintain the health of your pet. My daughter (who is 11 and uses her birthday money & Christmas $$ to care for her hermit crabs - this fogger included) has since chosen to use a PetsPioneer fogger that is about the same cost with WAY more features and has been way more reliable. Please use our experience to save yourself time, money, and headaches and choose a different fogger for your pet-care needs.
Bought this for my daughter's hermit crabs. Read the online reviews prior to purchase and was hesitant, but thought there were way more positive reviews than negative so it was worth purchasing. Worked GREAT out of the box for 40 days then started having issues with the fan (seems to be common based on other forums) being loud, rattling, and slowing to a near stop that barely produced fog. We took the unit apart and greased the fan and it ran great again, for 40 days then seized up. Petco was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G with helping get a replacement! It's too bad ZooMed has such a small, unserviceable component for a necessary item for pets that need constant humidity for health & wellbeing. I would recommend (and plan) to purchase replacement fans for this unit as they easily ... MoreBought this for my daughter's hermit crabs. I would recommend (and plan) to purchase replacement fans for this unit as they easily plug/unplug from the circuit board after removing 7 screws: 4 screws to remove the bottom of the unit and 3 screws to access the fan housing. I also plan to research more dependable units to recommend. To be clear, PetCo gets 10 stars and this product receives 2 in hopes that the first unit was just a bad luck run from ZooMed. If this unit fails in 16 weeks like the first we'll be looking for a more reliable product after leaving a 1-star update review.
This device par with a humidity controller is the best thing I’ve done for my husband ball python! Angus will be 7 months on the 11. And since our daughter bought him for her dad, Angus has been shedding in pieces. So after allot of YouTube videos. I keep the humidity controller set on 50.0% and set it to come on at 3.0% below. He does have two hides, one has front & back entrance (exit). Another hide with only one entrance & exit. I do keep moss in the last hide. When Angus started to sporting his zombie eyes and his whole body is dull, I put the humidity to 55.0% for a few days, then 60.0% and kept it there till he shed! Which he did!
Shuts off every couple of minutes, maybe five maybe fifteen either because there is water in the tube or you need to spin the bottle. I got this because my snakes humidity is too low while I am at work and I can’t spray him from the office. What’s the point of spending this much money on a fogger if it needs to be CONSTANTLY monitored?I really wanted this to work but it’s not worth the money. I’ll be returning it and just getting a regular humidifier and seeing if that works.Don’t buy
