ASI224MC works great

Purchased shortly after my Nexstar 6se for EAA and planet imaging. Integrates perfectly with sharpcap producing better than I expected images for my skill and experience.Have got a couple images on small DSOs and it works great. Would recommend as an inexpensive camera used within its design criteria.

Awesome Camera ! Worth every little bit!

When I first bought this item I had done the prior research but the images just had me in shock even after. Easy to set up as long as you grab Firecapture or Autostakkert. Can easily get outside in under 10 min set up and taking pictures! (Based on experience level) this cam is perfect for beginners!

Awesome planetary camera if you don’t want I spent a small fortune

I got this camera as I wanted to get some more detailed planetary, lunar, solar and satellite (mainly ISS) images. All I can say is I’m extremely impressed! I had an SvBony SV105 before and this camera is leaps and bounds ahead of it in terms of quality! It is worth every cent more than the real budget options like the svbony I had. I’ve attached 2 pictures of Saturn, one taken with my old svbony and one taken with the 224MC. I used a 10in dob reflector for the sv’s image and an 8in dob reflector for the 224MC’s. Even through the smaller scope the image quality and planet detail is much better using the 224MC. I’ve also attached 2 of the ISS, both taken with my 8in dob reflector, one with SV and one with 224MC.

Excellent first astrophotography camera
25 September 2020

This is my first CMOS camera and given the price and quality I am pretty pleased. Second night out I managed to grab some fairly decent photos of Jupiter and Saturn, even though the seeing was only so-so. Solid build. My only complaint is that I am a Mac user, and the included software (download), although usable, isn't very sophisticated. The instruction manual covers every conceivable software program for this camera, spends a lot of time on PC issues, and is not very helpful. Camera would have gotten 5 stars if software/documentation was better,

Excellent little camera for planetary imaging
24 September 2022

Bought this to pair with my EdgeHD 800 and 2.5x powermate. Did some research on the image scales for planetary imaging and this combination turned out to work very well. Great service by Agena.

Great camera and fast delivery
21 October 2020

I'm a beginner at astrophotography. I had another brand 5MP planetary imaging camera that I was not satisfied with. The capture software would hang at high resolutions and it took a long time to download the video with its USB 2.0 interface. So, I returned it and got this camera.I found this camera very easy to use. With its USB 3.0 interface, it downloads the data much faster and it works great with the 2 major software capture programs that I use. Even though this camera has only 1.2MP, I have found the quality of the video I have obtained, under the same viewing conditions as the 5MP camera, to be as good or better. Also, this camera can be connected to the auto guide port on my telescope whereas the 5MP camera could not. This was only the third item I've ... MoreI'm a beginner at astrophotography. So far, I have been very impressed with how fast I have received the items after ordering.

I got my asi 224mc
15 August 2021

I got my asi 224mc a few weeks ago and have gotten to try it three times. It was an upgrade to my usb 2 asi120mc. I have to say that I’m very impressed with the frame rate and the color it produces. Coupled with a ZWO ADC, a ZWO UV/IR cut filter and a long focal length SCT it makes a great planetary imaging system. The seeing is generally poor here and the planets don’t get any higher than 30° for me this year so I’m seeing limited, however I’ve still gotten some very good results that I’m quite happy about. I will attach a few of my shots taken with the camera. Taken with a C9.25 and asi224.

The camera is fine and
28 June 2021

The camera is fine and works as expected. The 5 star rating is really for Agena. After I made this purchase, I made some admittedly ridiculous last minute changes to my order, and Agena took care of it no problem. They didn't make it feel like they were doing me. a favor, which they most certainly were. These guys are great.

Very fun accessory
10 March 2022

I intend to use this as a planetary camera. There haven't been planet observing moments for me yet. I couldn't help but fiddle around with it in prime focus on my Newtonian for electronic assisted astronomy. It works great for this! Getting the "share the view" with friends/family on my tablet screen is the main reason I got into astrophotography. They enjoyed it almost as much as I did.I also have dabbled with imaging DSO with it, as it's pixel size is the same as my DSLR. It works, but obviously as it's very cropped, the FOV is quite small (duh) even at 600mm focal length. Small objects like the Owl Nebula and the Silver Sliver Galaxy (NGC 891) were fun to experiment with in this manner.

ZWO ASI224MC Planetary Camera
10 October 2021

This is an excellent introductory one-shot color camera for planetary work.Still relatively new to this aspect of astrophotography, but the results so far have been satisfying. Once I better understand the ins-and-outs of capture and processing software, I expect even better results.Glad I bought it and can happily recommend it.
