Trio of comedy horror films. Don Coscarelli directs the 2002 film 'Bubba Ho-Tep'. In a Mud Creek retirement home, an aged Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) and a black man who thinks he's JFK (Ossie Davis) have to join forces to stop a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy from sucking the souls out of the retirement home's other residents. Ron 'Hellboy' Perlman stars in 'My Name is Bruce' (2007), which tells the story of two 18th century grave robbers who hunt down the roaming undead. As a young boy, Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan) raided coffins looking for jewellery to sell for food. From these humble beginnings, he quickly progressed to full-blown ghoulhood, aided and abetted by his mentor Willie Grimes (Larry Fessenden). But the good life soon disappears when Arthur is arrested by the towering presence of clergyman Father Duffy (Perlman) and threatened with a date with the guillotine. Now, spurred on by the promise of an endless supply of whiskey (and a sentimental attachment to his head), Arthur recounts his gory story to his captor. Bruce Campbell plays himself in 'I Sell the Dead' (2008). The mining town of Gold Lick is being terrorised by Guan-di, the ancient Chinese evil spirit and protector of the dead. Infuriated by the desecration of their graves by youngsters, Guan-di has come back to protect the spirits of Chinese miners, who died in a cave-in many years before. Bruce Campbell-obssessed Jeff Graham (Taylor Sharpe), who really seems to think that Bruce can slay devils, brings him to the town and sets him loose on Guan-di. Bruce at first thinks that the whole thing is a publicity stunt, but quickly discovers the horrific truth. Does he cut and run or does he try to live up to his movie persona and become the hero in real life?
