Haven't had it very long but so far it seems to be a good product. Well made, and plenty of power for a 12v system. Already had the matching 3/8dr impact wrench and have had no issues. The power of the Dewalt 12v tools are impressive for what they are made for

I bought this as a lighter and smaller alternative to my 20V Max hammer drill. In that role it has been fantastic.I really like the reduced weight compared to the larger drill, the fact that it uses the same charger as the 20V line, and that it is plenty capable for its size.I wouldn’t expect to drill massive holes (all the time) with a tiny drill like this, and I don’t believe that’s the purpose of this drill. Rather, it is a drill that has plenty of power for the average person and average tasks that can (and has), punched above its weight class when I really needed it to. I’ve used 3 inch hole saws on occasion.I’ve also been very happy with the drill with light masonry tasks, such as installing small concrete anchors. The only thing that is kind of a ... MoreI bought this as a lighter and smaller alternative to my 20V Max hammer drill. I build and install kitchen and bathroom cabinets for large apartment communities, so this along with the 12V impact and the 12V screwdriver are the perfect tools for the job. I was using the 20V XR version of this hammer drill and the 20V XR impact driver, but they were cumbersome, heavy and too powerful for the type of work that I do. Additionally, they are larger and heavier. With this 12V line, it's almost like carrying nothing at all, because they are significantly smaller and lighter, yet at the same time powerful enough for my type of work. They are also easier to handle and maneuver, especially in tight spaces. I highly recommend this 12V hammer drill, as well as the other DeWalt 12V power tools.

I got the Dewalt 12v Hammerdrill 706, and they had two left in stock, when I opened the locker it was wrapped in clear tape and looked like it was opened and returned. Upon inspection at home, tool was not in a plastic bag, manual was ripped and the screw was missing for the belt holder, at-least the holder was in there. I wont know if it functions properly until I check it tomorrow. new battery operated all functions thus far but need to put it to a test on each function, drill, drive etc, and customer service was a nightmare! Ordered at one store and they said out of stock ( when ordering it showed three) and couldn't help me choose a different one. S I had to cancel order and reorder from new store. The hammer works very well and positive, I like it for putting on accessories in bathroom wall tiles, where you can control hammer speed without damage to tiles
This is an excellent small (compact) drill - perfect for getting into those tight spots that you can't manage a larger drill into - it also has been a quality piece as it has performed just as well as it's bigger 20 volt brother. I like it a lot!!!!!!!!
I got one of the first 12v drills when they came out. It lacked power and speed. THIS 12v brushless is SO much better. They're are more powerful drills out there. For me, I'm willing to give that up for the size weight, price and power that this drill can deliver.I am a machine builder and this is just powerful enough with compact size to get into tight places and light enough to prevent fatigue.I am happy with this purchase.
Bought this because it was easier to carry around than my full size hammer drill, but if I should happen to need the capability of drilling holes in concrete, I was covered. It's an impressive little drill, especially when paired with a 12 volt 5 ah battery. Entirely worth the price.
It’s a nice and compact/lightweight hammer drill. Considering that this has only 12V, what can I say I'm impressed. It is the right size for smaller jobs. It feels really good in my hands. Overall is a good quality tool.
plenty of torque, very efficient on the battery, in most jobs i prefer this 12V one over the flexvolt hammerdrill for its lightness
