1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

(803 reviews)

Ridgemont Reserve 1792 is handcrafted in small batches, bottled at 93.7 proof and aged 8 years in new charred oak barrels. Ridgemont Reserve 1792 shows a lot of caramel sweetness on the nose and palate, with a mellow viscousness smoothly delivering more subtle flavors of charred oak, rye spice and toasted coconut. Ridgemont Reserve 1792 is one smooth whiskey, a bargain at this price point. Neat or mixed 1792 is a good call.

For 24 bucks this is the best bourbon you will ever have. I’m floored that 1792 isn’t a 40 dollar bottle. Great tasting, can’t be beat. I’ve tried a ton of other brands in this price range. WT 101, Dickel, Four Roses, OGD BIB and 114. You name it!! This and Wild Turkey 101 are my tops in this price range. Knob Creek 9 yr is 10 bucks more and also amazing along with Russels 10 yr. Very tasty

This was recommended by my cousin and I figured, what the heck!!! Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. On the nose, Your usual bourbon scents. Caramel, Vanilla, light oakiness. On the palate, the sweetness continues, this time with a lil' spice at the end. And that was just the neck pour. After several pours, the sweetness and the hints of spices are outstanding. I can't wait to have another...

1792 is my daily drinker because it is the best bourbon you can get in the $30 range (unless you can find Eagle Rare of course). Only Buffalo Trace comes close for my palate. 1792 is consistently good. I've never had a bad batch. Complex tasting notes include floral (specifically roses) and caramel with a hint of tobacco.

Even at this price there e far better Bourbons out

Always looking to try new things heard this was a high Rye bourbon which I prefer... Undrinkable. Basically sugar and ethanol on the palate, with a genuinely off taste. Bad bottle? Maybe, but I'm not taking another chance on a new bottle...Somebody else referred to it as a "drain pour", which made me laugh... I decided to pass it on to my nephew who likes bourbon as a mixer... I put the bottle in a bag, walked out into the garage to take it down to him, and for some reason the bag tore and this thing dropped and shattered all over the concrete floor... Had to clean up a whole bunch of broken glass and the garage stank of cheap whiskey for a week! I thought it was fate that this happened LOL... I don't want anybody to think I'm trolling on these reviews, I'm more ... MoreAlways looking to try new things heard this was a high Rye bourbon which I prefer... Undrinkable. I don't want anybody to think I'm trolling on these reviews, I'm more than willing to talk up anything I really enjoy...but I got to balance that with some honesty when I come across something that's just not up to par. Honestly I can't even imagine this stuff working as a mixer, for 5 or $6 less there are so-called bottom shelf whiskeys that are fine sippers and good mixers.

It is hard to find a better bourbon for the price

Rye spice is the first thing that hits, with softer notes of oak and vanilla. The ethanol hit is pretty strong; don’t stick your whole nose in the glass.Palate: Upfront, it’s a decidedly high-rye bourbon with all the spice and tingle that accompanies. On the midpalate, it’s full-bodied and chewable with subtle notes of chocolate. As it exits, there is a mild burn from the alcohol, but it doesn’t obscure notes of spice, vanilla and coffee bean.Finish: Long, spicy finish with additional vanilla and a hint of sweetness

I really enjoyed the aroma, taste, and warmth that this 1792 KY Bourbon Small Batch provided. A friend and I tried it for first time and gave it Excellent and 5 out of 5 Stars.Am going to encourage many of my Bourbon lovers to buy this bottle. I have enjoyed Blanton's Single Barrel Reserve, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, Whistle Pig and other great bourbons -- the 1792 equals or surpasses the flavor and richness it has on my pallet. It is a Top Shelf, Excellent Bourbon. Robert Alexander, US Army Retired who enjoys agreat relaxing drink

Smooth yet spicy
26 December 2021

1792 is an easy sipper at a budget price. I had read about how “brash” and “hot” this 46% ABV bourbon was. I disagree totally. 1792 is smooth and easy. The nose is very light (almost too faint). The palette has a cinnamon, maple syrup, and dark fruit flavor. The finish is medium and spicy. It’s an enjoyable dram. This bourbon warrants a 4.5 rating but the system doesn’t allow 1/2 star increments. So I have it a 5 since it only cost me $29.99. If you want something even smoother I would recommend Buffalo Trace. If you want something a bit more challenging I would recommend Wild Turkey 101. As it is, the 1792 is a nice bourbon that’s midway between super smooth and super hot.

Solid go-to bourbon
30 May 2023

Been on my list to try for a while, and hadn't realized what a great price Total Wine had for it. Picked it up for a long weekend of gatherings, and the bottle was gone in two days. I've already bought another for myself as well as gifted one to a friend. Great neat but mixes incredibly well, too. Gonna become a staple in my house. Can't beat it for the price and the flavor.

Well-made, but very sweet
15 December 2022

I enjoy bourbons on the sweet side, and 1792 delivers plenty of that. Loads of honey and marzipan on the nose. If you like the flavors of caramel, warm vanilla, brown sugar and maple, then you'll love this, especially for the reasonable price tag. I couldn't give it 5 stars because the flavors could be a little deeper, but it's close. It has moderate smoke and is refreshing on the rocks. Its sweetness would absolutely make it excellent in a cocktail. I recommend giving it a try.

You Taters are delusional! This is an excellent whisky! Especially for the price point! $24 and it’s smooth and complex! Woody with a lingering finish. No bad ethanol but or burn. This is a $60 bottlefor $24. It’s right there with 4 roses single barrel and the Woodford Reserve Double oaked! Sam’s doesn’t keep the same whiskies in stock forever. Get a couple bottles! I always do!
