18 Pack Command Mini Hooks

Years ago my mom purchased these to hang a strand of outdoor liights o. her aluminum patio awning. They have been sticking and have stayed for over 8 years now. Recalling that I purchased these again for my windows and Christmas lights. I also tried placing them on our aluminum trim to get them to stay but nope. Small strands amd not trying to pull thrm tight Nd they just fall off. Hardly anyone is making things like they used to.

Honestly expected more out of these little clear adhesive strips….I had used the larger versions to minimize wall damage when hanging paintings or portraits and those were great. But came into buying these smaller versions for a couple of small jobs, such as hanging decorative light strips and even with minimal weight (ie, Twinkly lights) and they hung for very brief period before losing its adhesive and dropping. As I look at them closely the hollow back with just the edges adhering to the clear hook is what I expect is the cause. Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend but have had good experiences with other Command Stip purchases.

I love all the command strips and an super grateful to whoever invented them. I love these little guys for a bunch of different uses. They are great to use when decorating with fairy lights or strip lights. I like using them on my side tables so my phone chargers don’t fall to the ground. They hold a good amount of weight as well. Most importantly, they are easy to install, easy to remove and don’t damage the walls or furniture.

Clip On

This was my 2nd purchase. The previous ones were too small. I work from home and have multiple computers hooked up. We have to remain hooked up at all times. I wanted to secure the 100 foot cords to the wall trim. These were easy to seperate and apply to the wood trim. I spaced them about two feet apart. It looks fantastic and keeps the cords clean and less of a trip hazard. Also renter friendly.

Lost adhesive quality before use

I went to use a second hook from this package, and found that ALL the adhesive is no longer sticky AT ALL. The strips are dried out and yellowed. This made me very sad because it meant I couldn't do the project I was about to do for my son's birthday. It also made me think that perhaps the first hook I installed fell off not long after I put it up NOT because it was installed in a shower bathroom... but because in fact the adhesive simply was not formulated to last. This package is NOT old at all.

Okay Product

I bought these so I could hang a banner I made out of paper and ribbon. My idea was to just tie one end of each hook and put it across my kitchen counter. One of the hooks just kept falling off the wall. I replaced the sticker side several times but it just wouldn't stick. I've used the command velcro to hold heavy glass picture frames to the wall, so I was surprised this wouldn't hold or stay on the wall. Maybe it was just a fluke. I don't know.

Old stock?

I bought these 3 days ago and used on a mirror behind fireplace. Followed exactly how to use and apply . Not only was the sticky part on the mirror not very sticky but after 4 hours abd barely touching the clear part that attaches came off in my hands. I even wore nitrile gloves to avoid any oil from skin. Old stock? I found a 5lb hook I bought 4 years ago with adhesive package, never used and stored in plastic bag in cool dark place. Same thing. Adhesive didn't work. And yes, service of mirror cleaned with alcohol and dry.

Ripped paint

I bought these for a college dorm to hand stuff up, I ended up using only one of these as I had other command strips that I found to be more useful for the things I needed to hang. I used one and decided to take it down however it ripped paint off the wall. I pulled it off just as I would any command product however unlike the others this one ripped the paint. As mentioned I used it in a dorm room meaning I’m going to be fined who knows how much because of this. I wouldn’t recommend this specific command product and now I’m going to have to pay a minimum of 30 dollars.

Sticky Fail

I purchased these last month to hang up garland for Christmas. I have used these in the past and they have worked great. They must have changed the adhesive. The adhesive now is clear and thin and does not stick to anything. The ones in the past were a sticky white foam adhesive.I cleaned off the area first and let the adhesive stick for awhile. I hung up the garland and hooks came falling off! Ugh!

Wish They Would Stick To The Wall

I recently purchased a large pack of these command strip hooks to hang cricut 12x48 inch vinyl rolls on. Each one of the rolls weighs an average of 0.28 pounds, witch I took the weight of 4 rolls to get an average. These are rated to hold up to 0.5 pounds, the rolls are 0.22 pounds less than the specified weight. But yet they continue to fall off the wall. I cleaned the area, allowed it to dry, correctly placed the red side to the hook and black to the wall, pressing firmly, allowed it to set without anything on the hook while I placed the other hooks on the wall in a diagonal fashion spaced far enough apart to keep the rolls from adding pressure to the other hooks. These Command Strips are not at all very cheap to purchase and for them to not even hold something under the specified weight is upsetting. Unfortunately, our local Lowes will not allow me to return them to get my money back, since I have opened them and used them. Back to the drawing board for a solution for a way to hold all the rolls of vinyl I have so they are not scattered all over the place.
