Ubbi Nappy Pail - Matte White
The Ubbi nappy pail locks the smell, as opposed to plastic pails. Plastic is porous, allowing the odour to escape through the body of the pail, while steel prevents the smell from escaping to keep your nursery odour-free. The Ubbi nappy pail can be used with any regular, tall kitchen bag or cloth liner, providing savings over pails that use expensive, inconvenient, and hard-to-find refills. The rubber seals around the rim and around the sliding lid make the pail airtight to lock the smell inside. The innovative lid slides open to minimise air disruption. The child safety lock and slow-close lid keep children safe from potential injuries and provide parents with peace of mind. The Ubbi nappy pail has the capacity to hold 20 of the largest pull-up size nappies and up to 55 newborn nappies. The sleek oval shape fits well into tight places but is still big enough to contain up to 55 newborn nappies. The Ubbi nappy pail is available in several colours and trendy patterns to match any modern nursery, in addition to an annual capsule of limited-edition releases. The Ubbi nappy pail has received 11 awards and counting, confirming its high standard of quality and design that parents are looking for.

When we were pregnant, I did alot of research on big ticket items such as the Ubbi diaper pail. While the price tag is a little hefty, I love that you can use a regular trash bag and not waste extra money on specific bags. I would recommend taking the bin out ATLEAST once a week because it does get quite stinky after a few days when you open the hatch. Other than that we love this product! It's only been recently that the diapers are getting a bit heftier so we will take the bin out every few days!

I understand that poopy diaper smells will escape when any diaper pail is opened. I have a 2 year old so I’ve been using diapers long enough to not have some magical expectations but holy mother of jeebus the Ubbi stinks up the whole room when opened for literally less than a “1 Mississippi” to throw a diaper in. I bought it thinking it would replace the one (a different brand) we have been using but that bad boy got brought back from retirement within a couple days. Their claim that it won’t stink up your room when they door is closed seems to be true, you’d never guess what is behind that slide when it’s closed, but after opening it for even the shortest amount of time you have to air out the whole room before you have the opportunity to forget what’s going on in ... MoreI understand that poopy diaper smells will escape when any diaper pail is opened. Diapers from the same child, no more poopy or strange than ever before, suddenly smell like he pooped dead animals. I honestly don’t know how it smells so much worse but it does.

I was gifted a diaper genie for my son and used it with him, and didn’t know any better. But with my daughter I started being bothered by having to buy those liners for inside, they are expensive and honestly always ended up being wasteful. Plus I found they were ripping easily and I would find little blue pieces of plastic from the liner on the ground after I’d change the bag which I worried was a choking hazard. I did my research and decided it was more economical to buy the Ubbi diaper pail than to keep buying those annoying liners. I have only been using the Ubbi for one week so far but I’m in love. Plus the bags seem to hold much more diapers and are so much easier to change. I was worried that it might be too short for me (I’m 5’9) but it’s not at all, it’s easy to open the lid and put the diaper and wipes in with one hand while keeping one hand safely on my daughter. I wish I had this from the beginning but thankful I made the switch now while my daughter is still little. To summarize buy this diaper pail!

I am currently 5 months pregnant so I’m not completely sure how this will work for us. I wished it was a little larger but who knows it could be perfect. The color (marble) is stunning and elegant. The products itself seems overall very well made and sturdy. It’s very convenient that it doesn’t take any special bags, regular home trash bags seem to fit perfectly. The ordering was extremely easy and the delivery was right on time. Fingers crossed it’s the perfect one for us
Owner this pail for over a year. Ended up using it out in the garage as the doodoo pail. Once you open this thing to out a diaper in, the smell of collected diapers over a week hits you and stays in the air. We ended up throwing outs away this morning as a fly ended up going in and made babies. Larvae was everywhere. When the lid opened tons of tiny poop flies would go everywhere. Wasted money on this. Our two arm and hammer diaper geneie's that were much cheaper we've had for over 4 years are completely outperforming this one. I'm baffled that this makes top picks on YouTube, they must be getting paid...
Overall absolutely love this diaper pail! It does a fantastic job of locking in smells. My only feedback on flaws are: - The opening to throw the diapers in is very small - if you have a very messy diaper, you get poop all over the sides of opening. - Because the diaper pail is sealed so well (Great for smells!) when it's full, its really hard to remove the trash bag - it gets suctioned to the bottom. It's even hard to hold the pail down while you pull out the bag. I would recommend adding a release valve on the bottom to help with the suction and make the bottom easier to hold down with your feed (it slides right out). Even with those flaws I still recommend this!
We purchased this can in 2019 and don’t plan on repurchasing for baby number two. I also likes the idea of an all steel can. But as others have stated the execution is not great. You’d have to take out diapers every day for there to be no odor. The lid part traps moisture and causes mold on the inside of the lid especially on the rubber gasket. You have to take the lid apart (screws and all) to fully clean it and probably at least once a week to avoid mold. Likes the idea and the fact you don’t have to buy special bags but with the other meticulous flaws it wasn’t worth it.
With my first kid we had the diaper genie and had no major complaints other than it was an eye sore. With our second we got the ubbi because it was slightly better looking. But it is terribly designed. There is nothing holding in the smell when you open it (diaper genie shuts the diapers off when you open), it stinks up the room instantly. The dirty diaper smell remains even with a fresh bag change. It also creates condensation in there which is just gross. And once you have the convenience of a foot opener like the genie it kind of sucks to have to open by hand, especially as the baby gets older and wigglier. Definitely would not recommend, I have no idea why these are so popular.
My baby is a year old and we originally got the diaper genie which worked well up until this point. Diaper genie has changed their refills and they do not hold as many diapers as they used to and the refills are expensive. We decided to switch to the ubbi and I do not regret that decision one bit. I love that I can use a regular trash bag which saves me money and it holds in the smell so well. It does appear to be smaller than the genie but holds way more. If you are on the fence I’d definitely go with the Ubbi. It also has a child lock so that’s great!
Ready to use right out of the box but over time it hasn't lasted (been using it for 4.5 months now). The top lid that you slide open/close to drop in a diaper is not as smooth anymore. It doesn't fully get stuck but with continued and frequent use i can see it become that way. I was really excited about this diaper pail too because it doesn't require specific bags like other pails do. Other cons - it dents easily, so handle with care. also, it is difficult to take out the bag. i have to lie the pail on its side and then pull the bag out. It does contain the smell though. Disappointed for the price. Perhaps i can apply some oil to the lid to make it slide open smoothly again...
