A hammer that works, been using for 30 years. Its the best you can buy. Got a new one because I just wanted 2 of them. My old one has built hundreds of homes and still swings like new. Just don't miss, will remove meat from thumb.( Comes with the job). If you want a mans hammer buy a 28oz estwing with waffle grit.

As with all Estwing hammers, this model is extremely durable; the one-piece forged design ensures a lifetime of reliable use. The waffle head will positively fillet your thumb if it gets in the way, so keep your other hand away from the point of impact as you swing. The rubber grip will not detach and provides a positive grip. The hammer is well balanced and drives a 16d nail in a couple of blows if you have the "juice." Definitely recommended!

It’s sad estwing used to be the best hammer on the market but in the last 4-5 yrs there quality has gone down drastically there handles keep coming off with less than a week of use and they won’t warranty it so I purchased a Milwaukee 28oz frame hammer for concrete form work and so far been the best hammer

Perfect hammer for heavy work. I've used this while working in commercial concrete construction (carpentry, labor, scaffolding) and also for basic home tasks. You know it's a superior product when you hear that "PING" when you hit steel.
Pretty straight forward. The steel looks good, i like the way the rubber material of the handle meets the steel. Feels well made. The head is just a little larger than I expected, which isn't bad, more striking area. Overall, seems like it will do exactly what it's supposed to.
Anyone who has been any trade that puts nails into wood will tell you that Estwing Hammers are absolutely the best there is. They do the job and last buy one and retire with it still in you pouch, I had two stolen several years back, and three more burned up in our house fire, or I wouldn't even be in the market. They were all twenty years old or better. I don't know about wherer I live now but where I used to live there was an old man that would re-mill the faces of them after uou beat them flat. I set here and tried to think of something bad and couldn't.
This is a HEAVY framing hammer. I'm not complaining at all, just making the point that this hammer is bigger than alot of stilletos and other lighter hammers that carpenters are using now. This hammer will get the job done, and I am very satisfied with its balance and strength.
This is a heavier 28 ounce Framing Hammer which is sort of heavy but then again you are supposed to let the hammer do the work not your muscle. They make a lighter 22 ounce size but this weight helps to drive nails with fewer "swings". This is not the hammer for a kitchen drawer. Can it be used for demolition work? Absolutely, along with a wrecking bar and some demo screwdrivers. Will probably last a lifetime until a "tool thief" comes across it.
This is an instrument of mass destruction. You have to get one. The steel is exceptional quality. It rings like a bell when you hit a nail or strike wood. I've nver experienced that before. It's a lifetime tool, not for the faint hearted. 28. oz is a heavy hammer. It will drive big nails easily.
This is my favourite Hammer to use for framing. I have been using the Estwing 28 oz for the past 25 years. I usually get about 7 to 8 years performance out of one before the handle wears down too much. The one thing I have found with this and my last one is the material the handle is made of is softer than my hammers before and seems to wear a bit faster. But it does have a nicer feel with the softer handle. This one should last me for the remainder of my framing days.
