Image quality is really impressive for a lens this size. Much much cheaper than Fujinon 56/1.2 and, as I can see in my first tests, an excellent alternative for Fuji X shooters who like the 85mm.

I got this in a pinch as a placeholder for a better lens I had on the way. Honestly, for the price I wasn't expecting much. It exceeded my expectations and did really well. It's a bit soft all the way open, but performed really well at f2. There is a bit of vignetting and softness at the edges, but far less than what I was expecting for the price!

This lens is great for:-Anyone looking to expand their lens collection on a budget-New photographers who haven't used a prime lens before-Trying out this particular focal length before investing in a better version-You'll be using this in a very controlled environmentThink twice if:-You need perfect focus on every single shot-Optical quality is your biggest concernI'm a huge fan of this lens. Cheap price and perform really well overall. I usually have to stop down to f/2 to be happy with my shots, f/1.4 is a bit soft and the chromatic aberration is pretty noticeable to me. Still, it's nice as an option if I absolutely need it.I also think the focus throw is a bit narrow. A slight adjustment can move the focus point way beyond what I wanted but it's hard ... MoreThis lens is great for:-Anyone looking to expand their lens collection on a budget-New photographers who haven't used a prime lens before-Trying out this particular focal length before investing in a better version-You'll be using this in a very controlled environmentThink twice if:-You need perfect focus on every single shot-Optical quality is your biggest concernI'm a huge fan of this lens. A slight adjustment can move the focus point way beyond what I wanted but it's hard to really fault that against the lens since it's so small. Design wise, I think it would be hard for them to improve this so I just see it as part of the quirk and a good thing to keep in mind. I've lost a shot or two due to focus and now take my time a bit more to make sure it's sharp.Besides these two thing, I'm quite happy with it. The build quality itself is quite solid and functionally wise, it fits right in with my Fuji X-T3. I enjoy using all manual systems so that's not an issue for me personally. Also think the bokeh is quite interesting and have been happy with the look of my photos and video overall.

This is a small and fast lens with that intimate telephoto look. It complements very well the standard 30mm focal lens on the cropped sensor. One of the reasons I've chosen this one vs the similar price range completion is that it can actually focus fairly close - about 35. It makes a big difference in my work. Sharp and dreamy shallow depth of field. It delivers on all the aspects. Get one!
A great lens! Nice sharp images! At least on a Fuji camera the only metadata that was missing was the aperture data. Focus ring is very smooth. The aperture ring does not click value to value so one has to look quickly to the aperture ring to know what f-stop you are shooting at that moment.
I was surprised at how sharp a lens costing a little more than 100 bucks could be. All metal build, very good magnification, macro like. Is manual focus only, no electrical contact with camera. Very compact size. I am satisfied with my purchase.
Yes, with this well built MF 55mm f/1.4 inexpensive gem. Reminds me of the pleasures I had with my first 35mm film SLR and its unbeatable MF 50mm f/1.4 lens.Thank 7Artisans for bringing back the magic. If you once enjoyed such a lens you will not be disappointed with this one. Run your camera in aperture preferred mode and focus away.
Bought this lens for sharp photoes for my drawings. The lens gave me a convinient distance from living models, works both ways.. This is a manual focus lens so a tripod or a "rock" to lean on to is a must. I even tried it in daylight and nightlight - exceptional results. Wounderful bokeh and at night the low F1.4 really make a difference. I cant see any minus on this lens so far. It is well built and the lens deliver far over my expectations. I used a Sony A6000.
For the price it retails for the lens is worth every penny. Build quality is very strong and doesn't feel cheap. It is made out of metal and has quite a weight to it. You get amazing portrait shots with this lens. It also has tight fit to my Sony A-6000.
Bright lens, with a sturdy metallic build which will look great but...It does not focus to infinity, the ring stops a bit before it reaches focus. You''ll get some color aberrations for this low cost. The focus and aperture rings have a crescent grip pattern, which is harder to grab because it's slippery on the smooth part. These inconveniences seem to be present on most (if not all) their lensesThe rings don't click when turned, they're smooth, which is nice for me.
